We spent 3 nights here just after lock down and it was lovely.
The site is well kept and easily accessible. The owners Fiona and Bryan were lovely and welcoming. The ground was well drained even though we'd had rain. We will definitely be coming again. The local pub wasnt open until a couple of weeks later which we're told does lovely food.
fabulous site
What a lovey place to stay. We had a warm welcome and pitched up right next to the little river which had a gated path down to a cute little seat next to the clear running water of the river Bain.
There are loads of walks available and we even ventured to the Alpaca farm where we also received a very warm welcome and even got to meet and walk with the alpacas. Such a beautiful area to vist. This is a very well maintained site and it had everything we needed. There is no site loo or shower which suits us just fine. The bin and waste area is kept nice and clean. It really is a delight. We certainly will visit again in the future because we love this area and the Pub was closed on this occasion (Covid) so we have to come back to try it out.
Friendly and helpful new owners
The site has recently been taken over by new owners Fiona and Bryan, who were very friendly and helpful. This is a very peaceful, adult only site with EHU and water convenient to all pitches. The grass was a bit weedy, but there are improvements planned. The site is great for riverside walks, including to Kirkby on Bain village, which has a great pub (booking recommended for meals). Woodhall Spa is well worth a visit for a range of independent shops, as is Horncastle for antique shops.
April 2019 Relaxing 4 day’s
This CL at Poplar Farm is a great place to unwind, this is our third stay here, we like it here because there are public footpaths directly from the site in all directions and good for dog walking.
Water taps and electric hookup points are conveniently placed and well spaced pitches.
Recycling and waste points are discreetly screened off .
Woodhall Spa is only a few minutes drive down the road with its famous Kinema in the Woods , a vintage cinema with tremendous character and Tea Rooms near by.
The public house in the village is only a few minutes walk, Ebrington Arms has a good selection of craft beers and the food is very good too. Advice is to book a table at weekends as not to disappoint.
Very friendly owners and always welcoming, thanks once again.
3 day stay
Stayed here on our way back home from Norfolk, owner very likeable and obliging. The site is well mapped out and enclosed. Jets from RAF Conningsby fly over occasionally but personally I enjoy watching them. If you walk out a gate at the back of the site you can walk either way along the river bank, and one way is a small walk to the local pub the Ebbrington Arms, very nice! would recommend booking in for food. Woodhall Spa is nearby with it's local amenities Jubilee Park with heated swimming pool and the unique Kinema in the woods if you fancy a film. New to us was a Italian restraunt on the main street reasonably priced and nice food. Alternatively there is the town of Horncastle not far away which has a market day, I believe is Saturday. Enjoyed our stay very much and will return.
Tranquil and wonderful
Once again Jade & Hannah made us very welcome, have stayed here a number of times and enjoy the peaceful setting, lovely dog walks and a decent pub just a short stroll away.

Semi-previous gem
Located on a corner close to a hump backed bridge used by large HGVs & by a small river this site can be noisy by day but not by night.
Otherwise this CL is very nearly faultless & other CL owners should copy Jade's efforts to make a waste area & recycling exemplary hygeinic & well signed. However what makes this CL special is the commitment by Jade ( man) to his customers by way of a welcome care & comfort. Not the best location but definitely a wonderfully comfortable caring CL. 5* to the Chappells & continuing good fortune.
Great little site
Stayed on this site a couple of times. J is very welcoming. The site is flat and the services are good and well kept. The adjacent road can be a little busy for a minor road during the day but the traffic disappears in early evening leaving it very very quiet. Close by paths lead to pleasant riverside walks (to the pub if you must) and further afield. The first time we stopped there the rain had been awful up to when we got there but the site was solid. It drains well as it is adjacent to the river.

Wonderful wildlife
We really enjoyed this site, so relaxing and peaceful. Great walking on riverside to village pub, we saw signal crayfish trout and the kingfisher flying down the river, lovely for nature watchers and near to Woodhall Spa. Will be returning again soon.
Peaceful haven
Peaceful site just on the edge of the village Kirkby on Bain.
Handy local pub just a few minutes walk down the road.
Easy access to the site and clearly marked with Club signs.
The site has several fresh water points for your convenience, the site is flat on short grass with well spaced pitches. Waste water and Chemical toilet disposal are well screened in one corner of the site.
A chalk stream runs along the border of the site , on the opposite side of the stream you can walk the public path in both directions.
Very welcoming owners who take care of their site. This is our second visit to the site and will look forward to returning soon.
