A lovely well run site

I stayed here for 4 nights in August - access was good, easy coming off the A153. Pitching not too regimented and I was lucky to get a streamside pitch which was a delight. Owners very welcoming and approachable. Good walks in the area, although cattle in the fields behind so dogs must be kept on leads. Facilities were clean and good - the raised grey waste drain did mean I had to lift the wastehog to fully empty. At night it was very quiet although there was early morning local traffic (suprisingly noisier than the nearby main road!). Nice retro phone box style book share here. Nicely placed for Woodhall Spa just a short car journey away. Clearly popular as people return to this CL and I can understand why.

Welcome local break

Lovely 4 night stay at, for us, a new site, now very happy we've found this one as it's local for us!! Lovely welcome & advice on ease of pitching motorhome, in general owners were very friendly and helpful and chatty. Very spacious pitch. Super walking whether you have a dog or not along river banks ( heed the advice on presence of cattle though!) along to village and all walking is clearly signposted in the area. Only 10 minutes walk down to the Ebrington Arms which does super food...best to prebook though. Only negative for us would be some noisy traffic at certain times of day but we'd still go back!

Owners Couldn’t be more helpful

Lovely site with pleasant walks along the river & plenty of wildlife in & around. The owners went above & beyond for us , offering to come out & help us set up in torrential rain when we arrived ( we declined!) & then offering to drive us anywhere we needed to go when our car decided to shatter a spring, checking in on us later to make sure we had got sorted with a garage etc - very much appreciated.

Wow

As CL advocates and fans and currently on site this adult only, dog friendly CL is exactly how a CL should be! Very easy journey over, easy access to site, set in stunning countryside alongside the river with excellent access to local footpaths for dog exercising. The village with dog friendly pub and good food is a short walk from site and the market town of Horncastle with shops/pubs/supermarket a 5 min drive. Owners are welcoming and friendly with an eagerness to share their stunning location with us. The CL has a well manicured flat lawn and rugged private hedging, well spaced pitches some with water and grey facilities to pitch, some with river views, yet no pitch is a bad pitch all south facing. If your bringing your caravan to tour the beautiful county of Lincolnshire, look no further than Poplar Farm. Seriously, it is everything a CL should be and more.

Campervan Visit September

Easy access from main road and very friendly welcome to this site. Lovely countryside around and ideal for cycling. Some footpaths adjacent to site but possible to walk to Woodhall Spa with combination of footpaths and grass verges beside the road. Some road noise noticeable, especially early morning. Levellers needed. Easy access to water points and EHU. A good value CL.

A Gem

I can only say the same as all the other reviewers this is my kind of site. easy journey and access to site, very warm welcome from Fi and Bryan, everything that is required is there. good dog walks on door step and lovely quiet lanes to cycle on. good pub down the road and woodall spa and horncastle only a few miles away. I can see we will have to plan well in advance to stay here again, this is a beautifully well run cl- just how we like them.

We Motorhome

We have a large motorhome ,this site while grassed it is Good firm standing , we stood five nights through some heavy weather with no wheels settling into the ground. Moving off was as easy as any hard standing. Thanks to our hosts Fiona and Brian. B & N Romano.

Fabulous CL

Thank you to Fiona & Bryan for a friendly & welcoming CL site. This was our first visit & will not be our last, it’s very well maintained. There are some lovely river side walks straight from the site. My husband likes to go fishing he was able to do this again straight from the site, while sat in the sun knitting yes we had some lovely weather, it’s been a very relaxing holiday it’s a shame it had to end.

Great CL

Great CL, welcoming & helpful owners, mindful of hygiene measures with regular disinfecting of gate handles, taps and pods etc. Lovely walks direct from the site, alongside the river. Recommend a visit.
