A lovely, peaceful small site. Greeted my Ben who then went out of his way to help us with setting up as it was our first time setting up on a slope. It’s easy and I’d now be confident having a go myself.
We used our own facilities (Covid 19) but the water/waste was easy... plenty of sanitiser and rubbish is recycled easily, which is good to see
Will definitely go back.
Thanks for a great stay
We stayed for two nights whilst visiting friends living locally.
This was our first stay on a CL having recently joined the CAMC.
We were met on arrival by the lovely Alison and Anthony who were so friendly and welcoming.
The site is in a secluded tranquil location with gorgeous views; the amenities are first class. Electric hook up and water taps are provided at each pitch, and the showers and toilets are modern and spotlessly clean. The site does slope but this didn't cause us a problem.
Thank you for a lovely stay; we fear we may have been spoilt.
We can not imagine all CLs are as excellent as this one and we look forward to staying here again.
Excellent site, wonderful views and good walks.
Possibly the best toilets, showers and waste drop in Wales. Easy book in and greeted on arrival.
Would certainly recommend this cl site.
Thanks very much.
We have spent two nights here in this lovely valley edge site. The pitches have their own water supply which makes life very easy! We had no trouble finding the site or pitching up. It does slope but nothing we couldn’t cope with. The shower and toilet facilities were very smart and super clean. Walking from the door in both directions on the very quiet small road led to exceptional views with very little effort. Snowdonia visible on both days we were there.
Plas Newydd is a superb example of what a CL should be. The owners, Anthony & Alison are great hosts and the facilities are better than anyone could reasonably expect. The peaceful location is excellent, with lovely views, providing an enviable base for North Wales.
We visited Bala, Porthmadog via the Ffestiniog Railway (start at Tan Y Bwlch if you want parking and a nature walk) and Barmouth as well as Llangollen and The Horseshoe Falls. Llandudno, Conwy and the Snowdon Mountain Railway, from Llanberis, are easily reachable, but don’t overlook the Llangollen Railway, which follows the River Dee to Corwen, nor the Llangollen canal, where you can enjoy horse-drawn barge trips.
The site does slope. Anthony had to help us onto our pitch using his 4 x 4 as the grass was damp. It is also on a hillside, meaning it can be breezy, so secure your awning as well as possible!
Thank you, Alison, for the delicious cooking apples. We also loved the eggs (and your chickens!).
Highly recommended.
Plas Newydd was a wonderfully peaceful site. The toilet/shower blocks are new and to a very high standard. Anthony and Alison are exceptionally helpful, coming out to guide the last half mile (as my sat-nav had interesting ideas!) and helping manoeuvre the van as my 2wd V70 struggled a little on the damp grass. Users do need to understand there is a gentle slope to the site (~12 degrees) which makes older 2wd rigs like ours a little vulnerable, but it wouldn't stop us returning. There were no problems getting off the site despite ground being fairly damp. The setting is very tranquil, I estimate 10-20 cars per day max running the road behind the site. Chickens and a turkey run free range, sheep and lambs in the immediate fields, water, electricity and satellite TV at each pitch. Grey water, toilet disposal (green fluid only) at the shower/toilet block. Wrexham, Bala, Chirk, Chester, Prestatyn all easily reached. Nice walks in all directions. There is a small village shop, 1/4 mile into town, basics available and friendly staff. The owners are enthusiastic club members and know what is looked for in a CL site, and they have made every effort to ensure their site conforms to what they would look for.
