We stayed here in late March, on the back end of some awful rain, which meant the site was really soggy. However, the site layout with access track and hard standings, meant that pitching and getting set up was straightforward, even in the dark. (We did get the front wheels of our car stuck, but John was able to tow us off without bother). Having our own water and drainage was a big plus given the conditions, and the separate toilet and washbasin were useful. The pitch was big enough to accommodate our caravan and awning without going onto the soggy grass. John and Jackie were friendly and helpful hosts, and always willing to offer advice or guidance. As we were attending an event all week we didn't sample the local pubs or restaurants, and didn't take any walks, but Eccleshall looked like a nice place, and we'd like to revisit at some point.
