Stunning site

Wonderful site with terraced pitches set in an orchard. Pitches well spaced with EHU, picnic bench and own bin on each one. We cycled to and completed the coast to coast trail with surprising ease given our ability ( or lack of!). Well worth getting a Fal Ferry visitor pass that includes car passage on King Harry Ferry, we did the Enterprise ferry on the same ticket up to Malpass and down to Falmouth and back it covers Falmouth to StMaws as well. The site is well placed to explore this corner of Cornwall or perfect to just chill out on site. Owners were lovely and greated is onto site and waved us off on departure. Access is tight and care is needed, but our van is an 8m twin axle. You can't have a site this quiet and remote turning straight in off an A road! Another one marked up for a revisit.

A Wondeful Place to Relax

We are so pleased to have found this lovely site - a beautiful setting in which to relax and enjoy the peaceful orchard and surrounds. Nick and Barbara are lovely hosts. The comfortable, solid picnic benches and handy rubbish bins on each site were a bonus. Lots of walking from the site meant we didn’t need to drive anywhere during our stay. We can’t wait to visit again

Beautiful and peaceful

What a little gem! The site is set in lovely grounds with beautiful trees and each site feels very spacious and private. A lovely touch are the individual picnic tables and dustbin at each site. The Humbys were extremely welcoming and we were delighted to find so many public footpaths and bridle ways close to camp. We will very definitely be returning!

A stunningly beautiful site

Wonderfully peaceful CL In a beautiful location. 5 flat grass piches spaced out in a mixed orchard, providing both shady and sunny spots for each pitch. EHU on each pitch and a central water tap with a hose that will reach all of the positions. The location is stunning, one minute stroll to Penpol Creek on the Restronguet estuary. 20 minute walk along an old tramway to The Old Quay Inn at Devoran which has good food and beer. Good walks from the site and buses, from Devoran, to Falmouth and Truro. A perfect CL, which we will certainly visit again.

Idyllic site

We stayed here in June 2022 for 6 nights. Greeted by Nick, the owner who is very nice and helpful. It's probably one of the nicest sites we have been to, not like a lot of the 5 van sites which are often an open field. This is an orchard on a slope with flat platforms for the caravans/motorhomes. This gives the whole site a tranquil quality which you don't find elsewhere. So much so that we spent the first day of our holiday just chilling in the sun outside the van. The setting brings a few difficulties - namely it's a bit tricky to get onto the pitch - I was glad to have my motor mover (There are a couple of easy access hardcore pitches for motorhomes provided though). There is evening sun on only a few pitches but most pitches are in full sun during the day. But really, the site is so nice in all other respects that these small points shouldn't put you off. Unlike a lot of Cornwall, this site has only about a mile of single track lane before you get to it off the normal road which is good. You do need to enter from the recommended side in the description as the turn into the farm is too tight from the other direction. On the site - it is absolutely quiet - no traffic noise. Pretty close to Truro, Falmouth and the Roseland Peninsula. In summary - idyllic.

A hidden gem!

I cannot overstate how beautiful and peaceful this site is - so much so we stayed longer than we booked for! Close to amazing walks, creeks and a 30 minute walk along an estuary to a fantastic pub. Direct from the site it's a 35 minute walk through the countryside up a bridleway to a very well stocked Spar. Don't let othe less positive reviews put you off. We we're recommended this site and we are so pleased we came.

Peaceful stay in orchard stayed 21st September 2021 7nights

Beautiful rustic surroundings, lots of wildlife and generous pitches. Greeted by owner Nick on arrival who explained location of services and pitches available. We were really.ly lucky to have seven days good weather thistime of year but torrential rain on day of departure fortunately site was draining well. Double check with owners length of unit as entrance is snug. We would return

Disappointing visit

We were recommended this site by some friends who had stayed there several years ago. Access the site is tricky as it is down a steep Hill ( Harris’s Hill, ok to come down, but you need a big engine to get back up) the entrance is narrow and over a small bridge that then leads into the Camp site with a narrow entrance next to a stream, through two stone pillars. Large vans beware! We were then greeted by the owner who treated us as if we were newbies, even although we have been caravanning for over 30 years. We were put on the smallest pitch which had a slope on the right hand side down to an enclosed vegetable garden. There was only one Motorhome on the site at that moment and one that arrived shortly after us. We put up the awning which had two pods for our grandsons to sleep in ( age 10 and 8) and a storage tent. Our daughter and her husband and children arrived later that day. We discussed this and parking with the owner. Later the next day we were approached by the owner and his wife who were very unhappy with us erecting extra tents and not telling them. Also that two families were staying, which was not true as we are the grandparents and are one family, which we stated. Of course the only extra tent was a small storage tent, the pods are part of the awning. The reason given for the extent of their disapproval was the grass beneath the pods and tent would die. We had a breathable carpet in the awning, which was questioned disbelievingly, and we agreed to lift the pods as well as we could. By now my 8 year old grandson was distraught and had to be calmed down. There was some mumbling about charging extra for larger groups and that we hadn’t informed them. But we honestly couldn’t remember if we had or not, as we had never had to on any other five site we had stayed on. We did not feel welcome at all, and were berated for not doing the rubbish properly, although the system operated had not been explained to us. We left two days early, but paid for the full time booked. The site itself was very pleasant, in an orchard, the four other pitches being far larger and flatter then ours. There was a picnic table on each pitch and your own bin. However do ask about the rubbish disposal policy on site. Access is tricky, and we would suggest it is more suitable for smaller vans and motor homes and older couples.
