We'll be back!
We booked onto the CL as I had work in Bangor on Thursday so we decided to stay the Wednesday and Thursday night. We arrived at about 8.30pm and were greeted by Catherine even though it was freezing cold. The welcome was lovely and she helped us with the pitch as it was also rather dark. We received a welcome pack which had every bit of detail you'd ever need regarding the local area including RAF Valley which couldn't be missed as they were in the middle of night practice when we got there (which was brilliant!) Catherine pointed the lights of the Cymyran Hotel which was a lovely short walk away (and the welcome there was just as good as at the site) The pitches were lovely sized, level hardstandings and fully serviced - we couldn't believe it was only £15 a night! There have 3 little "sheds", a ladies, gents and information room along with a herb garden and the usual disposal facilities. The views were amazing and the site was lovely and peaceful when the planes were not in the sky - we didn't mind one bit though and loved being able to stand under the Hawks as they twisted and turned above our heads, even the dog enjoyed it! We never got to the beach so that is on the list for our next visit as we will definitely be back. One thing i'd like to mention from a previous review is the list of "rules" in the welcome pack - yes you can't wash your caravan or car (you can't on any CC site..) and yes, they'd like you to keep your dog on a lead (just as you do on any other CC site) but they gave reasons why, which personally I like rather than blanket rules "because I said so".. All in all - the welcome upon arrival, the well laid out, spacious pitches with full facilities, the planes, the views, the nearby hotel and bar all will be bringing us back to Pen-Y-Llyn - Thank you Catherine for a lovely stay.
