We recently stayed here for 4 nights on a fully services grass pitch. Was amazed how dry the pitch was after the significant rain fall we witnessed in July! We booked it due to close proximity to RAF Valley, to see all sorts of military aircraft and also the short walk to the beach for the dog to have some fun.
The site is significantly upgraded compared to the pictures of it on the club website, so check their site for a better understanding of how it looks now, you'll be much more impressed https://penyllyn.co.uk/
Lots of the people we spoke to were all repeat visitors, this was our first time but we'll return at some point also.
Very Nice and very clean
Wonderful site. Hosts/Owners are helpful and tireless. Yes there is aircraft noise but not in the evening or at weekends, rather than whinge, accept and watch? It's a free airshow. Great walk along the beach, dog loved it !
Pen Y Lyn - gem of a site
We always start off our motorhome touring on Anglesey and being new to Pen Y Lyn, we were not disappointed in our 2nd night choice out touring. What an absolute pristine and well maintained site, with all the amenities you could ask for, from well laid out serviced pitches, lawned areas and gravel paths. The toilet and shower blocks are so stylish, with constant hot water and so clean and fresh. A bonus is the dog bath area - this is so welcome as our springer spaniel is constantly looking for the muddiest mound to revel in. Number of dog walks, along with the beach 20 minute walk away. Love the information area which offers a number of items for sale, with an honesty box and information on local grocery store which will deliver, along with an India and Chinese takeaway who will also delivery. Owners very welcoming and very informative, so special thankyou to them for a most wonderful site and for all their hard work.
Unbelievably noisy
A beautiful site, maintained in excellent condition with suburb facilities BUT the very close proximity of the RAF Valley fighter pilot training airfield totally destroyed the peace and tranquility expected from Anglesey.
With jet trainer aircraft taking off and landing throughout the day, from dusk and into the evening, you could hardly hear yourself speak. The caravan shakes with the blast from the jets. Fortunately we were not there when they do night training!
Shame, the noise ruined this excellent site for us.
Classy Camping
5* should be enough to describe this site but it doesn’t really give you the full heads up on what a pleasant and well supported site this is. The toilets and showers were thoroughly cleaned and really well presented, with an excellent decor. The owners were welcoming and supportive and the site very well kept, the pitches nicely spaced for privacy and room. Will definitely be returning.
Beautiful and immaculate site. Stay 20th 25th June 2021
We have just spent 5 nights on this beautiful and immaculately kept site. The pitches are all hard standing and level ( No Chocks needed). The site is full of flowers and greenery and just adds to the scenery. It’s a good 20/30 minute pleasant walk down to a huge expanse of beach, you can walk to the nearest village in the distance but be prepared to wade across a small river that meets the sea, it was such a warm day/evening on Sunday the 20th that we did just that a small stroll from site was what we intended but 5 hours later ( a couple of drinks in the Village) we got back to site. We can definitely recommend a meal at the Tavern on the Bay at Red Wharf bay but it is a 35 min drive away.
We hope to return to this site sometime soon.
Thanks again to the owners for maintaining such a beautiful site.
Stay September 2020
What can we say, the site is brilliant. A great find. The owners are very attentive to detail and the pitches were kept to a very high standard. The plus side for us was the free air display each day courtesy of RAF Valley. We spent 13 nights at the site and would happily have stayed longer, had work permitted. It was easy to travel anywhere on the Island as the site is close to the A55. Our favourite places were South Stack for the glorious sunsets and copper mine mountain.
We did not use the toilets but they were immaculately clean as were the showers. It is only a short walk to a lovely beach with sand dunes. We can’t wait to visit again, thanks you for a lovely holiday

Stunning site
This was a lucky find for us. Even though the weather had put everyone else off (strong winds during last week Feb2020) we were the only ones on site, it didn't change the fact that this is a wonderful site. Good size pitches. Toilet block with washing machine. Showers. Beautifully kept site with a friendly welcome including a pack full of places of interest. A fabulous dog walk attached but plenty of other places to walk with easy access to the beach. Obviously there is some noise from aircraft at the nearby RAF Valley airfield. But these are fascinating to watch. An abundance of bird life. Very easy to walk to Rhosneigr. We couldn't believe how wonderful this site was and will definitely return.
Beautiful site, one of the best have found
Easy access, beautiful site, stunning planting of flower beds and trees. Spacious, lovely views and if you like aircraft an absolute must for RAF Valley is right nearby. We loved the jets but for those who want total tranquility all the time maybe this is not for you. They do stop at teatime and one day did not start until after lunch. The only reason I did not give a 10 is for peace and tranquility was because of the jets (which we knew about and wanted to see), otherwise it was peaceful and tranquil before and after them. The owners are lovely, friendly and informative and we will definitely return to this site. Out of the many lovely CL sites we have visited, this is my joint favourite along with Welltrough Farm.
Not only the best CL ever, but better than any other site we have visited!
I can't praise this CL site highly enough. The pitches are some of the largest we have seen, and fully serviced, too. A very warm welcome from Catherine and her husband, and his mum - all lovely and friendly and helpful.
I am going to list the good points - and can honestly say that for us there were no negatives whatsoever!
Excellent welcome pack with a newsletter and lots of local / tourist information.
Showers and toilets are immaculately clean.
Grounds are beautifully maintained, lawns mowed, edges cut, help yourself herb gardens.
Very quiet and peaceful - the only exception to this is the wonderful sight of the jets flying over from RAF Valley, and if you can't appreciate this then you are mad!! They don't fly evenings and weekends but for us this was a highlight of our stay!
Well placed for easy access to main roads for accessing the wonderful beaches and tourist attractions on the island - but still peaceful with no road noise.
Fresh eggs and marmalade for sale, also some plants. Basket of magazines to read, books and DVD's (these are in the beach hut loos, which you'd miss if you use the other block,as we did).
The Bull Inn served excellent food, had a very smart dining room and a weekly quiz night.
To be honest, I could rave on for ever about this site, it was amazing, and we absolutely loved Anglesey - what a beautiful place to visit (and to live).
