Very good few days

Easy access from A55. Nice open site with flat hardstanding pitches, and raised flower beds between pitches. 15 or 20 minute stroll to beach. Good spot for exploring Anglesey. Best toilet block we have ever seen on a CL. Excellent spot if you like aircraft, lots of activity from RAF Valley. Would definitely return.

Nice site but!

This is not just a 5 van CL site although the 5 vans are in their own area. The Cl site is in a decent size field but you are quite close to the other units considering the spacious field. There is one shower which is used by all 3 sites but on saying this we did not queue (perhaps we were lucky). Overall quite a nice site but paying £25 per night too expensive.

Fantastic site

We stayed here for a couple of days over the Easter break and really enjoyed the stay. On arrival I met Geoff who gave me lots of local information and places of interest, we were also given a folder full of information of pubs, walks, restaurants, shops, beaches and days out. There is a dog friendly beach within a 15 min walk, there is also a hotel which has a bar and serves food which is a 5-10 min walk away, there is a bus service which stops right outside the site entrance. There is a separate male and female toilet and there is a shower as well, all facilities are very clean. The highlight for us was the close proximity to RAF Valley where they carry out advanced pilot training, it was fantastic to see the jets taking off and landing, this obviously incurs some noise but it doesn’t take anything away from this fantastic club CL site. For dog owners there is also an enclosed dog walk on site where the dogs can be let off the lead, this is sadly lacking at a lot of club sites. At £18 a night for a fully serviced hardstanding pitch this CL puts the club sites charging £30 plus per night to shame, I only wish we lived closer so we could visit more often.

Absolutely first class CL

One of the best CLs we have visited, a credit to the owners. Superb serviced pitches set within a lovely lawned area set well back from the road. The toilets and shower facilities were always spotless. Close to RAF Valley, so perfect for aviation enthusiasts. Wonderful, fully enclosed dog walk which even our cocker spaniel could not escape from and she enjoyed playing with the owners puppy. The owners are very welcoming and cannot do enough for you. They have certainly gone the extra mile at Pen-y-Lyn with certain little touches that make your stay all the more pleasant. Buses stop right outside the entrance which is a bonus, especially if you have a motorhome as it is only a short ride to Holyhead and the supermarkets. Cwmyran beach is perfect for dog lovers and you can walk all the way to Rhosneigr. The hotel, approx 5 mins walk from the site, is perfect too after a long walk on the beach. The staff are lovely friendly people and made us most welcome and they are very dog friendly too. We shall definitely be returning next year to Pen-y-Lyn. The horrendous rain and gale force winds did not put us off!

If Carlsberg did CLs....

We've just returned from four nights on this lovely CL. Firstly, it was great to be able to book and pay online via their website; this made it much easier when compared to some CLs, when voicemails often aren't returned. On arrival we pitched up and the check-in with the owners was very easy. They provided a very comprehensive pack of tourist information. They were very welcoming and available if help was needed, but discrete if you preferred solitude. The pitches are excellent; all hardstanding with loads of room and each one with it's own fresh water tap and grey water waste drain, plus electric hook up. With great views from every pitch, we were able to witness great sunrises and sunsets from our van. The grounds are immaculately kept. The rubbish and toilet emptying service point was well marked and right next to the CL. We particularly liked the herb garden, with a note in the pack to help ourselves when cooking - we did! A strong WiFi signal on all pitches was also a real blessing; we needed to stay in touch with our solicitor during a house moving process and this made it really easy for us. There was also an excellent shower close by the main site; plenty of hot water and very clean at all times. There's also dog walking area on the site; I noticed poop bags and a bin were also provided - what a great additional touch. The location is good - on Anglesey nowhere is very far away. It's only a few minutes from J3 of the A55 and adjacent to RAF Valley, so there is some aircraft noise during the day, although the first flight isn't normally until 0800, but it's great if you're interested in aircraft. There's a 15-20 walk to the beach from the CL (with a hotel on the way with a bar and food, although we didn't try it). We walked along the beach to Rhosneigr, crossing the river footbridge on the coastal path. There's plenty of places to eat and drink in the village. This CL is also close to Holyhead, so ideal if you need to catch a ferry to Ireland, or are returning and want to stop off. The facilities and additional touches are excellent, combined with a personal but discrete service from the owners. Although not the cheapest CL we've stayed on, we nevertheless thought it was great value for money and just what we were looking for. On our last day Catherine stopped by to see if we'd enjoyed our stay and said we could leave when ready; it was so nice not to be rushed off the pitch. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Great Customer service

My wife and I had never stayed on Anglesey before, we decided to spend a month at Pen Y Llyn having been made to feel so welcome on our fact finding mission. Geoff and Catherine were so helpful throughout our stay nothing was too much trouble. As it happened we celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary during our stay. Catherine was so helpful to me when making special arrangements for the day. Both Geoff and Catherine work very hard to keep the site in tip top condition and anyone not enjoying their stay should really "get a life". Being close to RAF Valley the jets were a little bit noisey, however after a while it became the norm. I recommend this site very highly and look forward to spending another month with Geoff & Catherine in 2018.

More than we expected

We stayed four nights at this excellent CL from the 7th April and what a great time we had. Catherine gave us directions over the phone, right to our numbered pitch. Very easy access from the A55. On arrival at our pitch, we were greeted by Geoff who made us feel very welcome. He gave us a lot of information about local interest as well as further afield and after we had pitched up and settled down he returned and gave us a substantial welcome pack. The nearby airfield was a bonus for us as we enjoy watching the jets taking of and landing, so the sound of them did not bother us, but they don't usually fly at the weekend so it is quieter then. The walk to the beach is not to far and is well worth the stroll as it is not busy and if you want to go further you can walk along to Rosneiger beach. There is also the Cymran Hotel along the lane from the site were you can get a meal or refreshments on the way back (also dog friendly). If you have a dog, the site also has a well contained dog walk. All in all we had a marvellous time at this site and are only regret is that we had not found it earlier. We WILL be back sooner than later. Thank you Catherine and Geoff for your attention to detail.

Great site

Stayed for one night in October. Bit noisy because of the Air Force using a runway not far away. Lovely welcome by the owners and  we were given lots of information about the area. Great for walking

Great CL

We spent a thoroughly enjoyable two nights here at the start of September. Access to the site is easy, just a short distance from the A55 dual carriageway. There is a large entrance gate and a single road driveway. There is a good view of the driveway from the road so it's easy to spot if another vehicle is leaving. The CL is on the right of the driveway, their small commercial site is on the left. Don't drive passed the entrance to the CL towards the sign for the reception as it is the driveway to the owners house. We parked on the driveway and went to their house to book in. In future when we were close we would phone the owner and ask for the pitch number so we could drive straight onto it. We were given a big green bag with lots of relevant local information it it. The pitches are well spread out and level. The electric points are between the pitches. There are individual water and grey water points for each pitch. These are at the corners of the pitches so no need for long pipes. The site although full was very quiet at the weekend. It's not far from the end of one of the runways at RAF Valley. As to the facilities. There are basic but clean with seperate male and female toilets which are in what I would call potting sheds. TV reception is good. The WiFi is very good. A couple of miles away there are a variety of shops for supplies. You cannot walk so need transport. There is a bus stop near the entrance. The site is spotlessly clean. The site is a little exposed and due to the high winds during the weekend we and others did not put our awnings up. However this has to be balanced with the fact that there are good views from the site and it is in an excellent position to tour the island. Overall great stay and we would certainly return.

The perfect CL Site

What a gem! The booking process was easy, Catherine couldn't have been nicer and more helpful. They even laid on a RAF flypast on our arrival! :) The pitches are a good size and level, with everything on them you could need.  Access to the site is easy and there is loads to do in the area.  WiFi is better than on many full sites. The amount of work that has been put into the site by Geoff and Catherine really shows and it's a credit to them and the network.  Thanks for a lovely stay, we will be back.
