A really good find

This was our second visit with our 4 year old (well behaved) grandson and he just loves it. Everyone extremely friendly. It's a lovely walk along the canal into Audlem where we had lunch in the little Deli there - good homemade pies and sausage rolls. We also love the peace and quiet at Overwater. There's an excellent café on site where you can get a good cooked breakfast. There was a lot of activity while we were there on this occasion but our grandson loved watching the tractors and harvesters cutting the grass in readiness for the donkey derby. We didn't have an issue with traffic and we were quite happy for our grandson to ride his bike on the site. Wifi and tv reception both good. We're booked go go again at the end of September and can't wait!

Relaxing days

A peaceful open, landscaped, pitching area next to one end of the large marina, which you can walk round. Very clean modern facilities, efficient & friendly staff, shop and canalside cafe at about the same height as the canal.. Seating dotted about to watch the marina activities, boats on the canal, ducks, coots or the local heron taking his dinner! Hack Green Cold War bunker & Nantwich nearby, attractive Audlem village just a stroll along the canal (or take the weekend boat). Audlem has it's own Special Events Team (ASET) and there was a very good canalboat & vintage vehicle festival during our 4 night visit. All this and free wifi .. what's not to like!

A very busy speedy road

Have to say I was somewhat surprised  to phone my booking through and asked to pay for the whole week up front never before as that happened yet caravan club page says £5.00 deposit  .First visit to the site.  Only a choice of ne pitch despite people leaving later than the 12pm deadline for leaving.  We turned into the site and had another car right up the back of the caravan so no ability to reverse into the caravan pitch that was available we pulled over but the man didn't want to go past us so we ended up having to carry on past the pitches which then meant hubby had to reverse all the way back to the vacant pitch but this road is very busy traffic up and down all day till after 5 pm it seemed.  The most upsetting thing about that was although there was a speed limit set at 10mph no one enforced that or abided by it .  So people were driving past the caravan 5 caravan pitches and a further caravan pitched at a speed a lot more than the 10mph .  This site would benefit having an entrance for caravans and an entrance for the other traffic which is a lot of cars as we would certainly not return and cannot see how people can say a quiet site as that was not our experience of this site.  Friday morning woken before 9 am by gardeners contractors mowing and strumming.  It was disappointing to that my wife is disabled and needing to use mobility scooter could not access the canal path to Audlem due to a bridge with steps.  Can't comment on the facilities as we used our own on board the van.  We did use the coffee shop once and it was very nice and the homemade cakes were lovely.  We asked for leaflets for walks and they were not available .  Overall not what we were expecting very disappointed with site from the constant flow of fast moving vehicles backwards and forwards. Used the Audlem lass boat once as it only operates weekends this was the only way my wife could access Audlem apart from using our car too.  No bus service near the site either. But there is free wifi which was nice to have there was also a fair tv reception and nice having picnic benches on every pitch

Peace and Quiet

We've visited here 3 times now and just love the peace and quiet .There are lots of lovely walks either around the country lanes or along the canal side .There's an excellent café on site or you can just sit and watch the narrowboats coming and going , or take a water taxi into Nantwich . Audlem is a lovely village not far away and this is delightful too . Will definitely go again .

EXCELLENT CL

This is one of the best cl's we have stayed on. We were there 9th-16th Aug 2015, and have to say everywhere was spotless. The facilities were excellent, staff very friendly, and lovely views. Keep up the good work, we shall certainly return.

Our Favourite

We've been caravanning for 6 years and have stayed at many sites and this is our favourite. Its got the lot, friendly keen staff, spotless, great location (10 min walk along the towpath to the village), good cycling & walking routes on the doorstep, well kept (by a team with obvious pride in their site) grounds and simply a nice place to be - its nice just to wonder around the marina admiring all the narrowboats and birdlife.
