Orchard Views Farm CL

A challenging couple of days as the mini "beast from the east" came in, but despite temperatures of minus 3 & a strong cold wind with some drifting snow, we had a lovely time on this tranquil little site just outside the village of Walcote. Hard standings, though a little muddy at the entrance, & a secure gate with a combination lock was a reason we chose this site & not too far from home. We were met at the gate & let in & as we were the only ones there had the pick of the 5 pitches. We chose to go nose in & face the orchard, which would look lovely in the spring & summer, but all looked a bit bleak & muddy after the winter, but no complaints. Road adjacent is very quiet. Fresh water froze whilst we were there, but not surprising considering the temperatures. Our vans Alde heating came to the fore & coped well as we have never been out in the van in the snow before. We had lunch both Sat & Sun in the village pub & the food & drinks were fine. The owner Marie Keal & her husband are great hosts & it was lovely to meet them & visit their welcoming CL. We didn't visit any other local places due to the weather & only walked up to the wind farm about a mile away. Can recommend.

Lovely Peaceful Site

This has to be one of the best CLs we have ever stayed on. Friendly welcome, and lovely views over farmland with Red Poll cattle grazing. Good walking to be had but do take a good OS map as we did not and would have benefited from one. Easy access from M1 so most of the attractions we visited in the short time we stayed were easily accessible. Will definitely visit again if coming to the area.

Convenient and cosy

A lovely c.l. Spacious with hardstanding, which are a little too tight for full awnings, water, waste disposal and ehu. Very pleasant owner who also can provide b&b. Very convenient for the motorway and only a short walk to the village where there is a garage selling grocery essentials and a newly opened pub. A further thirty minute walk gets you into Lutterworth which has two supermarkets, various shops and pubs, and the bus service into Leicester (takes ages!). Next to the c.l. field is a paddock which houses a friendly pony and a "patchwork" donkey to provide entertainment for the family. A perfect weekend stay or stopover north or south.

Fab CL

Stayed here for a 2-night stopover on our way north in summer 2016, and would definitely go back for a longer, proper holiday. As others have said, Marie is a warm and welcoming host, and the animals, especially the charming Jack Russell, Teddy, make for a great atmosphere on this well kept, friendly, relaxing site. We have added this area to our bucket list for a holiday, and wouldn't hesitate to use Orchard Views as our base.

Orchard Views holiday

Just retuned from our stay at this wonderful C/L. We had two weeks and Mrs. Keal (Marie) made us very welcome. We have been caravanning for over forty years and Leicestershire was the only county we had not been too. It is ideally placed to visit Leicester, Loughbrough, Market Harborough, Melton Mowbray, Rutland water and we even went to Nottingham and Coventry. If you decide to stay make sure you go to Morrisons in Lutterworth to get a bag of carrots for the Donkey Misty and Horse Dixie. I would say all the years we have caravanned this C/L is as good as any we have visited. Make sure your next trip is to this C/L you will not be disappointed. Dave & Sheila Lambert from Liphook, Hampshire.

Friendly and welcoming

We were just deciding which pitch to choose when Marie (the owner) appeared and welcomed us. The site has hard-standings for 5 vans with good water and electric points. Alongside the CL field lives Dixie (the horse) and Misty (the donkey). There is also a lovely little dog (whom everyone else has mentioned) who loves attention. Teddy is a little charmer! On our 2nd day we decided to erect the awning but discovered we had lost a small 15 inch pole. I found another pole which I didn't need and was going to take it to my daughter's to cut it down the owner offered to take it and cut it down as he had good equipment. Within 10 minutes I had a neatly sawn pole the required length. In my opinion, a step beyond what is expected. The site if pretty and in a quiet location. We will be returning on our homeward journey back to Cornwall.

Stayed here for 1 night to break up the journey. As with many others we got adopted by the dog as soon as we arrived. The site is quiet and easily accessible from the M1

Well worth a visit!

My family and I stayed here for two nights during the May half term break.  We had booked a tank driving experience for my husband in nearby Husbands Bosworth and were pleased with how close the site was to the event. Marie gave us a very warm welcome and the children quickly became acquainted with Teddy the dog.  The site is peaceful, very clean and the pitches are great.  We would highly recommend this site to our friends and hope to return soon.

A great site

We stayed at the CL for a night in May 2015 on our return from Yorkshire. Due to traffic we'd arrived late but were welcomed all the same. On setting up the motorhome, we were adopted by the dog, watched partridges walking through the fields and even got some fresh salad. Unbelievable it is so close to the M1 yet so quiet. Will be returning.
