Lovely quiet site, close to M1

Perfect little spot. Good hard standing and utilities easily available. Working farm seperate to CL but next to field with donkeys & a horse. Easily accessable from M1 but quiet on site. Lovely area for walking & cycling. Pub short walk but we didn’t try it. We cycled 3miles to Swinford to The Chequers, very hospitable & lovely beer garden. Many other good pubs in the area apparantely. Stanford Hall easy walk. £15 inc. EHU.

Lovely peaceful site

Would highly recommend this site to anyone thinking of staying in the area or breaking their journey. A lovely peaceful site situated on a quiet country lane. We were here for a couple of weeks and were warmly welcomed by Owners Marie and John, and of course 2 donkeys and Dixie (the horse) Small Morrisons petrol station at the end of the road for supplies and village pub. Lovely safe walks nearby which the dogs loved.

Lovely, tranquil setting

Our second visit to Orchard View and it was equally as lovely. This time we were greater by the beautiful cows and their calves in the field in front of us, clearing out the apples from the Orchard to make way for the lovely donkeys. Lots of great walking and cycling in the area- we will be back again for sure.

Absolutely perfect for us

Our first trip out since lockdown was lifted. Loved our four night stay here. Nice walks and peace and quiet. Warm welcome on arrival, keypad secure gate, Services all worked and very clean and tidy. Enjoyed meeting the donkeys and the horse. Small Morrisons in the petrol station at the end of the lane, which was a ten minute walk. You don't need anything else.

Overnight stop

We stayed overnight on a journey south so not able to comment about the surrounding area. The site has good access from a country lane. It has several gravel hardstanding pitches in a slightly sloping orchard. Electric and water easily accessible. Owners were amenable and welcoming and our neighbours, 2 donkeys and a horse, were lovely! The site is very handy for a stopover being close to the M1 but if I wanted to visit this area for any length of time I would happily use this site again. The lane was quiet enough to walk the dogs with wide verges.

Peaceful and Relaxing

We are staying her for 9 days. The site is open and spacious enough. There is a sweet Donkey (Misty) and a lovely horse (Dixie) along side the site. The lane outside the site is quiet for most of the time and ideal for cycling. Lutterworth via Gilmorton is a scenic cycle ride and relatively easy. Marie is the perfect host, helpful, friendly and offers a warm welcome. There are 2 water taps, electric points and waste emptying point. Pitches are slightly sloping, stony (hardstanding). We had no issues with TV reception. Apart from the odd car passing down the lane and occasional braying from Misty, the site is extremely quiet and peaceful.

Very Relaxing Stay

We have recently returned home after a very pleasant stay at this cl. The hardstanding pitches were nicely spaced out and there were electric hook ups available. The site was kept very tidy and was on a quiet country road which was ideal for walking our dog. We visited several interesting places in the area and would stay here again.

Perfect

Lovely rural site overlooking the Leicestershire countryside, situated on a quiet lane a short drive from Junction 20 of the M1. Access to the site is via a secure coded gate, Although the turning is tight, it accommodated our long van with ease and we were made very welcome by the owner Marie Keal. Ideal location for us as we were visiting family nearby. Handy for an overnight stop if you are going further north or south and also a good base for exploring the Midlands. We are already planning to go again!

Good night halt

This site is easily found just off M1, easy access with some hardstandings some requiring long extension leads. Local pub was shut on the Monday which meant a short drive to Lutterworth which has everything from supermarkets to pubs and restaurants. Downside was the toilet on site was unusable according to owner

nice and restful

We stayed for the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. I will say that although the gates are very wide the turning into them is a little tight. Unfortunately for us a previous visitor had created ruts in the grass verge on the turning into the gate. We didn't see this until we found ourselves nearly stuck. We managed to reverse out and get a bigger swing into the gates without getting into any more trouble. The following it was well and truly filled in with hard core. The site was full by Friday evening so advance booking is definitely needed. The single track road is sometimes used a rat run by locals so beware of some speeders. we will visit again .
