Wonderful first experience of a CL site

This is the first time my family and I have stayed on a CL site and we were very impressed. Booking was straightforward and from the moment we arrived there was nothing we could fault. We were made to feel very welcome on arrival and shown to our extremely spacious, neatly presented pitch. Two toilets (one with shower) were available for our use, both clean and well-maintained. A small parade of shops was only a short walk away, which included a Tesco Express and good quality fish and chip shop. Old Farm was the perfect, peaceful place to relax and unwind and we look forward to returning again in the future. Thank you all for your kind hospitality.

A GREAT CL NEAR THE NEW FOREST

We stayed at this CL in June 2021, the facilities are very good and the site is very well kept. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. Our only very minor comment is that on our pitch there was some road noise early morning due to commuter traffic, although it was not particularly intrusive for the rest of the day. The site is great for cyclists as there are a number of New Forest cycle routes nearby. Overall a great site which I have no hestiation in recommending to other members.

Very Enjoyable Stay

Just spent a lovely 3 days on this CL site. Candace and Rob were very welcoming and attentive. Excellent cycling and walking on the door step. Facilities good and very clean. Would thoroughly recommend a visit.

Hidden Gem

Looking forward to visiting again after our first experience. We received a warm welcome from Candace on our arrival. Site was very quiet and relaxing. There are good walks into the forest and Ringwood via the Avon Valley Path. Local amenities including pub, shops and takeaway are only a 10 minute walk. Pitches are level and a decent size. We will be back.

Not for us .........

Firstly I must point out that our review is based on our stay during the strange times we are currently living in ........... The site is easy to find, not to far off A31 but if your towing entering the site can be a challenge as your unit will straddle the road while you open the gates. Once through the main gates there is a further gate to negotiate to enter the field, neither gates are very wide so expert driving is required. As stated in other reviews the pitches are very big & the site is sheltered by trees & fences, which is ideal if it is windy but for us it felt to enclosed. I can’t comment on the facilities as they were closed due to Covid-19 rules. The London Tavern was recommended as a venue to eat but unfortunately they didn’t serve food the night we were there (Tuesday), we bought a takeaway meal from The White Heart which I could highly recommend. My biggest grip was the cost, £20 for one night, no reduction in fees even though the only facilities available were EHU, water tap & toilet emptying & as this was an overnight transit stop for us we barely used any, although I did read that the showers are actually operated via a coin box which would add to the cost of the stay. I was of the belief that CL sites were a cheaper solution with just the necessary facilities & my understanding that the national VAT cut in place was being passed onto the customer, certainly not the case at Old Farm. TV reception was poor but mobile good. So in summary this site maybe good for some but not one we will revisited.

Just brilliant

Stayed here twice, and very much looking forward to staying again in the future. Hidden away by fencing and high trees this is a perfect site to explore Ringwood and the New Forest within easy reach of the bustling town of Ringwood and just off the main drag. Facilities are first class, spotless and well maintained. Run by a charming family who make it their business to ensure you're welcome and informed. Level good sized pitches and well manicured surroundings make for a relaxing stay in a lovely environment. Great pubs and restaurants within easy reach. Brilliant!

One of the best sites we’ve stayed on

WOW what a CL site, one of the best we’ve stayed on simply superb. Bob was looking after the site whilst the owners his daughter and son-in-law were away on holiday, and what a lovely chap he was so helpful and welcoming. The site itself has massive pitches and has a new shower and toilet block that is immaculately clean. There is a charge for the shower, but the owners children benefit from this as pocket money and why not. If you don’t want to pay for a shower then use your own one inside your van we do. Free range eggs are available on site as well again with all profits (£1 for half a dozen) going to the children as pocket money, what a superb idea from the owners. So all In all a SUPERB site just go and enjoy it

Restful and friendly site

This is a great little site that we used after having our caravan serviced. Very easy to get to, and a great welcome from Rob and Candace plus dog. Quite peaceful despite being close to the road. Facilities excellent and easy to use. Great access for dog walking and general exploring. We've saved this site as we will definitely be back, and not just when we've serviced the caravan!

Delightful CL

We only stayed here one night when picking up our new caravan, a lovely site. Easy to find, no narrow roads to contend with, just had a slight moment of panic when I realised we were blocking the road as we pulled up in front of the gates, but as Rob pointed out, it was a very quiet road with little traffic. Lovely flat field and a couple of hardstandings. The shower and toilet were spotlessly clean and cosily warm on a chilly morning. As mentioned in previous reviews, feels very secure due to the high entrance gates. Candace and Rob very helpful, both with the booking process and welcome on arrival. Delightful.
