peace & quiet

There were two red kites circling overhead as we arrived!  And we saw more whilst we were there. A warm welcome.  A quiet & peaceful site. The overall site is on a slope so you may need leveling blocks, although the hard standings are cut across the slope. Its good to have a choice of grass or hard standings. As we have family in the area we are likely to return.

Ideal for the Motorhome Show

The second time we have stayed at Oaklands Farm to attend the Motorhome Show at Peterborough. We know we can always rely on a warm friendly welcome to this lovely farm CL. Good amenities and lots of hardstandings. A beautiful location with good views.

Great tidy site, very tranquil.

We stayed at this site for just one night, we were warmly greeted and shown around, we chose our pitch and settled in very quickly. The site is very clean and tidy and well laid out. There are many walks around the footpaths along the fields and the quiet country roads are begging to be explored! We have a large dog and he loved the sites and smells of the countryside and was proper walked out by the end of the day! There were rabbits and hares playing and a field of sheep and their babies baaing, not to mention the beautiful birdsong all day. We had a lovely restful day away and will certainly return again.

Oasis off the A1

We needed a site to visit relatives in nearby Northampton but also wanted to visit the north Norfolk coast as well. You would not believe this site is just a 10-minute drive off the A1 it is so peaceful. With a choice of hardstandings or grass it doesn't matter what the weather is doing - we had to use levellers on the hardstanding as the site does slope slightly. The owners are very friendly and helpful. There are also some great dog walks from the site as well. Not much in the immediate vicinity, but we visited the Stilton Cheese Inn in nearby Stilton for a fantastic meal. Peterborough/Ferry Meadows with all its attractions is only a 15-minute drive away, Grafham Water about 30 minutes away and Kings Lynn/Hunstanton about 90 minutes away. All in all we had a fantastic week away and we will call again if we are up that way.

what a gem of a site

Absolutely fantastic cl, nice and quiet with very welcoming owners who couldn't do enough when their outside water pipes froze and we were snowed in. One of our favourite sites which I have literally just got off the phone from booking in again. Highly recommended.

5 mins from A1, J16

Lovely laid out CL with hard & grass pitches with plenty of hook ups. Good off lead dog walks around field perimeters and public footpaths and bridle ways. 5x gravel Hard standing large enough for van and awning, but some require levelling blocks. Fab all year round site in peaceful relaxing location but 5 mins from A1, J16. We'll definitely return.

A1 night stop

Visited in April 2010 - Well kept tidy site just of the A1 but far enough away not to be noisy. Useful night stop for those travelling on the A1 and handy for the attractions of nearby Peterborough, and the Nene Valley Steam Railway.
