BEWARE OF THE DOG

We missed the narrow turning into Holly Lane, which was poorly signposted, on our approach from Christchurch.  The site appeared pleasant enough but there were no signs as to where the water and chemical empty points were situated. Another criticism would be that there were no dustbins situated in the area where the caravans were.  We did not meet the owner until the third day of our visit, so the information sheet given to us came a little late in the day, as we were leaving the following morning.  Unfortunately, on the morning of our departure I was attacked and bitten by the owner's dog, whilst trying to empty our chemical waste unit. Obviously unleashed, it came from the area of the house in a most aggressive manner intent on attacking me.  Not an experience we would ever wish to repeat.

Comment from The Club:

Many thanks for leaving a review and we are sorry to hear you did not enjoy the site and that there was an incident with the owner’s new rescue puppy. The owner has put a lot of time and effort since your stay and communication with The Club putting things right at their CL Site and has put in place an enclosed and gated area at the back of her property, to keep members and the dog separate. Signs are in place and reference is made about how to safely gain access to the drinking water and chemical disposal point in the owner’s information sheet. I hope this helps address your concerns and thank you for taking the time to write a review and also bring this to our attention.
