Another lovely visit

Just got back from another nice visit to this site. All as has been said in my previous review and the chemical emptying tap problems have been sorted. Thanks very much. The Walkman pub, just down the road was clean and tidy with friendly staff, served good pub grub at a reasonable price with a nice pint to wash it down. This small site was full on this visit but we all had plenty of room and everyone was lovely and friendly. Another nice visit. We WILL be back!!

A wonderful little find

Came here with our cousins on our annual get together. Sue is very helpful and friendly. The site is sheltered and quiet. We only live an hour away and love the New Forest. Lovely walk through the woods to the sea. The pub a short walk away does an amazing deal - we ate there every night !!! Thank you Sue for the useful information. Also there is a caravan spares/accessories in New Milton, which can be very useful. We will certainly be back in the future. Jeff & Romy Dodgson.....

Great basic CL with electricity

Does what it says in the title!!! Visited with our motorhome for the 1st time week before Easter 2017. Mrs. CK, the lady that owns/runs the site was very helpful and indeed very welcoming. Local pub 150 yards or so away, not "haute cuisine" but is "very good value for money" and worth a visit if stuck for something to eat one day/night! If your outfit has all the bells and whistles, stay in a nice little spot and save yourself £20 a night into the bargain. M+K Shirley, Surrey PS we were blessed with absolutely beautiful weather and had the pleasure of meeting Old Soldier, (Pete and Les Penfold) reviewer below . . . which only added to our CL enjoyment.

A Little Gem

We have been visiting this site for several years now, as it ticks all the boxes for us and we are guaranteed a warm welcome. Its tucked away in a quiet spot, and there are lots of lovely places to visit either on foot, by bus, or a short drive away. Its also near a local beach where you can park all day with fantastic views. OK so we only have a smallish motorhome which makes access very easy for us. However we can appreciate if you have a massive unit or caravan it may be a little tight. Will be back again soon.....

A lovely few days.

We have just got back from this little site having enjoyed five days in the sunshine. This is a little gem but don't tell everyone! The entrance lane is narrow with a tight turn and the grass paddock is gently sloping and is very limited in size so don't turn up with a juggerhome or large caravan unit. Each pitch has electric with just the basic fresh water, chemical emptying and recycling waste disposal available. Sue welcomes you warmly and will find you later if she is out when you arrive, just pitch up on an available pitch. Local facilities include a food pub just down the road and after a pleasant 1/2 walk along wooded tracks Highcliff High St or the beach with it's walkways. Busses run to New Milton and Lymington as well as Christchurch and Bournemouth and stop just along the main road. My only criticisms are that it would be good to have the grass picked up after cutting, it was warm and dry for our visit but would have been a messy problem if it was wet weather. The other issue is that there is a 30 meter hose to the chemical emptying point with no tap or valve on the end. If you turn the supply tap on then the area around the emptying point can be drenched by the time you get to it! A new post, a tap and a short piece of rinsing hose will solve the problem and save water at the same time! I would give this site an overall 5 stars but don't want it to get TOO popular!! Thanks Sue, we will return! Pete and Les Penfold in Elle.

Carado T447 Motorhome

Lovely site - very close to Mudeford Quay. Sue welcomed us whole heartedly and able to buy beautiful free-range eggs from her brood of hens. We had a lovely cycle down through the woods, following the route given to us by Sue We were early in the season so only ones on site - opened our curtains and watch the amazing array of birds in the woodland. Peace! The railway is fairly close by but the odd train didn't bother us at all. We will definitely be returning.

very unhelpful

Having arrived at this site we struggled to get our caravan through the gate (very tight entrance) and found the pitch area extremely small with no room to turn a caravan around unless you unhitch first. A somewhat dull site would not recommend on first impressions. When we arrived early evening, after a five hour journey, we found out that we had accidentally booked onto an adult only site which was our mistake entirely, but I have to say we found the owner most unhelpful and basically told us we could not stay and with that she walked off and left us to it. After a great deal of phoning around we did manage to find somewhere to stay, which turned out to be lovely. Overall I would give a word of caution if booking here if you have a larger size caravan due to the site being so tiny and the entrance so tight and sadly the owner was generally totally unhelpful, although as stated the error was entirely our fault, but who has never made a genuine error in their life. Glad we didn't have to stay as it happens.

Good site to base yourself

We find this site very useful, as we have a motorhome and there is a bus stop right outside. There is also a lovely walk through some woods to the beach. The owners are friendly and helpful. My wife and I visit the area often so it's great to have a site that is open all year round. There is a railway track nearby but you hardly hear the trains. We have tried other cl sites in the area, but this the best one for us. We intend using this site again.
