Great farm site with superb facilities for a CL

Picked this site as a base for a weekend walking the lovely hills around Builth Wells. It is just south of town, barely a 5 minute drive. Having booked by phone we then sent a cheque deposit. I was called while on the way down to confirm everything was OK and to explain where to park the motorcaravan in case we arrived when the owners were out. In the end we were met on arrival and shown to our spot. The field we were in was just that, a field. Nothing extra and with quite long grass, but fine if you remember wellies to avoid wet feet on the dew in the morning. The field has slightly sloping and flat areas. We managed to get on the flat bit to avoid using our leveling wedges. 150m walk takes you to the excellent and clean facility block on the farm yard. Some pitches in the adjoining field had hookup available. As you might expect we had two quiet nights, interrupted only by a loud owl! :-) Great welcome from the owners. We will be back again.

First CL - Spectacular Countryside and a Warm Welcome

We were looking for a quiet spot to stop over on our tour of North Wales and opted for this CL. As our first CL we weren't too sure what to expected but it was a brilliant experience from the moment we arrived. OK the first night we had the site to ourselves but there was only 1 other couple the following day and it was extremely peaceful. David was very helpful in pointing out local walks and allowing us to use private land to get to the lake on top of the hill opposite. Spectacular countryside right on your doorstep and a real, warm welcome in the hillsides. Nice having separate male / females showers, toilets etc, CWP and fresh water available very close to pitches.

Fab site

We loved this site. We booked in late, as we had tried another site, but it was too wet for our camper van and the welcome could not have been friendlier. The facilities were clean, warm and the shower was great.  As for the views, well they were superb, especially with a light dusting of snow as they were on Saturday morning.  The site is definitely on our list of "we'll go there again".

excellent CL site

Feel this site is everything a CL should be. Cannot fault it - made to feel very welcome and the views wonderful.Fell asleep with no blinds closed, too good to miss. Don't have any problems with CL sites having additional caravan/camping area  - they have to make a living. Shower block first class better than a lot of commercial sites. Would highly recommend this site.

A lovely quiet site

This site is on a working farm, but the toilet and showers are some of the best we have come across on a CL. Hot water, heating and very clean when we visited. Lovely views of the hills from the site, and half an hour's walk up them reveals stunning views. A warm welcome from the owners and with Builth Wells just 2 miles down the road, we will visit again!

Peaceful site but....

This site is easily access, provided one take the right road out of Builth Wells. The road is not signed with it's appropriate road number, only "Upper Chapel". The grass was rather long on the pitches, but there are numerous water points at the hookup posts. There is a good toilet and shower block, with both male & female showers & a separate toilet for the disabled. As others have stated there were a number of stored van on site when we arrived. However at the weekend these were occupied and a large tent appeared on one of the CL pitches. By Friday night there were 12 units in use, caravans, M/H's & a tent. It was similar on Saturday with the addition of a couple of two-man tents. To cap it off the electrics were tripped in the late evening and, regardless of the efforts of David, the owner, and others, it had not been restored by the time we left late Sunday morning. It is a pity that this site seems to be run on the line of a small commercial site and not as a CL as it was quiet enough during the week and was well price at £11 pn.

CL converts

We stayed on Noyadd Farm from the 1st May to 4th May 2015.  We have never stayed on a CL before and only chose Noyadd Farm this weekend because it was a bank holiday weekend and we needed to be in the area as our son was in the Welsh Road Race Cycling Championship. We found the farm easily and were greeted and given a tour by Mr and Mrs Price's daughter. We did eventually meet Mr Price and his young farmers.  Each pitch has EHU and a water tap.  The views are lovely and despite a nearby road it is very peaceful.  The new shower block is excellent and the showers never failed to provide hot water. Would we use this CL again...definitely and highly recommend it.  In fact this has made us CL converts!! If there was anything that could possibly add to this site would be the use of a tumble dryer but that was only because we had so much rain during our stay. Thank you to Mr and Mrs Price for a lovely weekend.  Oh yes and our son came 3rd in his race so a nice podium finish to complete the weekend.

A lovely peaceful site with great facilities

We are just back from a lovely week spent at this site. Since our last visit the owners have put in electric hookups and water to all caravan pitches and built a new toilet block. We have been coming to "Noyadd" for almost 20 years and have never been disappointed. David and Elaine, the owners, are so welcoming and if you can tear yourself away from the site there are so many places within easy travelling distance including the Welsh showground (5 mins away) Elan valley, the Red Kite feeding site etc. Its a great place to bring the children as being on a working sheep farm there is always something to see. The site also caters for tent campers so we suggest you try it out, you will not be disappointed.

Nice views

This CL is described as part sloping but I would think that levelling blocks are needed wherever you set up. We had a pleasant welcome from the owner and the views of the mountains from the site are brilliant. The access from the road posed no problems even though the entrance is just over the brow of a hill. Unfortuately the grass was about six inches long and when we had a shower of rain or dew in the morning we had wet feet for a long time. (Why cant the grass be kept a little shorter?) The shower and toilet provided are basic but functional, the shower is a £1 coin slot but pleanty of water for two showers. The chemical waste disposal point is down three steps and is covered by a heavy manhole cover. Mind your back when lifting this. The disposal is also against the wall of the house. The field has a deep depression in the centre so only the edges are available to use. There is at least one 'permanant' touring van on the edge of this site. On Saturday the owner turned up with four dogs which he let loose to run all over the site leaving calling cards all over the place. In the end I had to have words (Why do some dog owners give the impression they think they own the world?). Anyway for a £5 a night site this is ok, worth a fiver for the views, but I doubt if we will return due to the other problems.

Comment from Community Manager:

Many thanks for leaving a review. I just wanted to give you an update on the CL Site as the owners have listened to feedback from members and as a result have made some vast improvements. This summer the CL Owner has installed electric hook-ups and water taps at each pitch, and completed a new shower and toilet block. The new block is finished to a very high standard, with separate ladies and gents toilets and showers, and a disabled toilet. They have also installed a chemical emptying point and tap in the site field. The grass is also now cut on a regular basis. These improvements have transformed the CL Site from a nice site to an exceptional place for members to stay, offering superb value.
