This site is easily access, provided one take the right road out of Builth Wells. The road is not signed with it's appropriate road number, only "Upper Chapel". The grass was rather long on the pitches, but there are numerous water points at the hookup posts. There is a good toilet and shower block, with both male & female showers & a separate toilet for the disabled. As others have stated there were a number of stored van on site when we arrived. However at the weekend these were occupied and a large tent appeared on one of the CL pitches. By Friday night there were 12 units in use, caravans, M/H's & a tent. It was similar on Saturday with the addition of a couple of two-man tents. To cap it off the electrics were tripped in the late evening and, regardless of the efforts of David, the owner, and others, it had not been restored by the time we left late Sunday morning. It is a pity that this site seems to be run on the line of a small commercial site and not as a CL as it was quiet enough during the week and was well price at £11 pn.
This CL is described as part sloping but I would think that levelling blocks are needed wherever you set up. We had a pleasant welcome from the owner and the views of the mountains from the site are brilliant. The access from the road posed no problems even though the entrance is just over the brow of a hill. Unfortuately the grass was about six inches long and when we had a shower of rain or dew in the morning we had wet feet for a long time. (Why cant the grass be kept a little shorter?) The shower and toilet provided are basic but functional, the shower is a £1 coin slot but pleanty of water for two showers. The chemical waste disposal point is down three steps and is covered by a heavy manhole cover. Mind your back when lifting this. The disposal is also against the wall of the house. The field has a deep depression in the centre so only the edges are available to use. There is at least one 'permanant' touring van on the edge of this site. On Saturday the owner turned up with four dogs which he let loose to run all over the site leaving calling cards all over the place. In the end I had to have words (Why do some dog owners give the impression they think they own the world?). Anyway for a £5 a night site this is ok, worth a fiver for the views, but I doubt if we will return due to the other problems.

Many thanks for leaving a review. I just wanted to give you an update on the CL Site as the owners have listened to feedback from members and as a result have made some vast improvements. This summer the CL Owner has installed electric hook-ups and water taps at each pitch, and completed a new shower and toilet block. The new block is finished to a very high standard, with separate ladies and gents toilets and showers, and a disabled toilet. They have also installed a chemical emptying point and tap in the site field. The grass is also now cut on a regular basis. These improvements have transformed the CL Site from a nice site to an exceptional place for members to stay, offering superb value.
