Greenbelt Festival, Kettering

Nice site. Easy to access and find. Nicely laid out. Fields to walk round if you have a dog or even if you don't. Alpaca's! Very friendly owners. Great for us to get to the Greenbelt Festival, August Bank Holiday weekend. Just under 15 minute drive to festival site. A14, busy road and slightly noisy at times as you are not far from it.

Why go to Kettering?

I'll tell you why, This is a great little site and a very warm welcome from Frances and Tony the owners. I agree with previous reviews 're the animals and concur with them. There are so many amazing country houses and fabulous gardens within very easy reach of the site, so much so that we are planning to go back in August to see some we couldn't fit into the 7 days we have just had. The 2 hard standing pitches are of a good size and the grass area is well kept with clippings collected. So Kettering here we come.

Beautiful site

A lovely site, very easy to reach from J7 of the A14. The site is off a quiet country lane and accessed via a drive past a couple of houses and a quiet farm. Despite being close to the A14 you only get a low drone from the traffic. One of our dogs is very noise sensitive and wasn't too bothered by the background traffic. Frances and Tony couldn't have been friendlier. Greeting us when we arrived, taking us to feed the alpacaslpacas, donkeys, and lambs. A thoroughly enjoyable break.

Delightful CL

Very easy to find, only five minutes or so from the A14, as long as you follow directions in the book rather than sat nav. This does though mean that there is a slight hum of traffic noise, but that is to be expected. We didn't find it a problem. Mr and Mrs Pope could not have been more welcoming and helpful, both in the booking process and on arrival. Nice level field with lots of space and a couple of hard standings. Long drive past the farm to reach the field, so nice and secure. Donkeys, alpacas and sheep in adjacent field, even with feeding times for the lambs if you have young ones with you. Absolutely delightful.

A little gem.

We stayed here on our way back home with our first caravan. The owner was very helpful and gave us directions to our pitch which was hardstanding and very level. There were donkeys, sheep and alpacas in fields nearby and a long dog walk around the adjoining field. Our two Yorkies enjoyed their walks. We were grateful to fellow caravanners for their help sorting our 13 pin connector out. The site was well kept and grass mown. My wife Karen had a lovely time bottle feeding a lamb. We only wished that we had stayed at least another night. We shall definitely be returning and would thoroughly recommend staying at this site.

Excellent!

We stayed for a few nights last week with a view to maybe explore the area a little. We didn’t explore at all because you arrive at this little oasis of tranquility (and yes you can here the A14 if you try but it was pretty much blocked out by the wind rustling the trees) and you just relax! There is, as previously stated, a really good dog walk directly from site, the birdsong is lovely, there are llamas in the field next to you and all you have to do is chill! To put the cherry on the cake Frances and Tony are just the friendliest, welcoming hosts. The site isn’t really far from home for us but I already know I want to go back.

Entertaining one night stay

We stayed on this site Friday 23 March 2018 for one night. Would have happily stayed for longer if we were not expected elsewhere. The welcome we received was lovely. The owners are so friendly and helpful. We fed the alpacas, cuddled the lambs and spoke to the donkeys. All in all a lovely afternoon and evening.

Great short break

We spent a couple of nights a this CL in late August and had a very relaxing time. The access is simple from the A14 if you follow the directions on the website - if not, . . . . . good luck on what appeared to be a very narrow road ! Because of it's proximity to the A14, there is a background "hum", but we didn't find it at all intrusive, although you can look at the road thorugh the trees for your own personalised traffic report ! This is the first time that we have stayed on a CL with the full complement of 5 vans on site - it was still very spacious. There are 2 hardstandings at the entrance to the CL and grass pitches further down. All sections look fairly level and we didn't have to use the levelling blocks. Vodafone and Three signal strength was sufficient for data transfer. Frances was very pleasant and the sheep, donkeys & alpacas are very friendly (and a delight for our inquisitive rescue dog !). It is a little trek to the toilet & grey water disposal points (about 75m from the far end of the field), so I wouldn't take a full Wastemaster & Thetford toilet cassette again, unless you want a good work-out ! We can't comment on the surroundings much as we spent most of our time around the van, it was so relaxing there ! Definitely worth a visit - thank you to the owners.

Lovely CL - very friendly and welcoming

We've been looking for a site that is half way between ourselves (in redditch) and my parents (in Cambridgeshire). We tried Northfield and stayed for 5 nights and I won't be looking for anywhere else!! A lovely little CL site, perfect for the kids to run around and the adults to chase them! Pets are welcomed more than the owners - well almost 😂Frances and Tony were more than welcoming and even let our children feed the alpacas and rescue donkeys on the farm. An absolute gem of a CL, the only downside, if there is one, is the A14 traffic noise in the very distance BUT it's only there if you listen for it and certainly did not affect our stay! We will be regulars and returning very soon.
