So Relaxing!!

Looking for a local site, as elderly parents not too well and our normal bolt hole club site shut this year due to covid. What a brilliant find!! Peaceful, views. great field for our dog, and service pitch as well ! Warm welcome on arrival and chat, then left to ourselves. Lovely views, Rodneys Pillar if you want a vigorous walk, the canal at Welshpool for something more of a stroll. Will be back for more of the same soon.

Exceptional CL

Where do we start...? We’d booked Mountain View as our first break after lockdown, in the pursuit of walking, sightseeing and relaxing. This CL is perfectly located, easily accessible and in close proximity to some of the Areas local monuments and walks. Open views surround the site, located on a working farm with five fully serviced pitches. Hayley is the warmest of hosts, making time to come and chat with members, offering a number of recommendations for shopping, food and days out. Paul is equally as friendly, as is their little dog. If you are staying here based upon the dog walking facilities, you’ll not be disappointed. A full acre of secure paddock lets your fur babies run around to their hearts content. Welshpool is just 8 miles away and has the best independent artisan bakery we’ve ever come across; The Little Welsh Bakery. So much so, we’re taking a freezer full of homity pies home with us! The chemical/elsan point is tucked away but easily accessible from all five pitches. There are no facilities here, but that in no way detracts from the experience that we wanted and that which we got. We'll definitely be back. Mountain View really is a hidden gem with terrific hosts.

First class C L.

I spent a few days here whilst house hunting in the area however I would like to return to just enjoy the peace and extensive views. The (new) owners were very helpful and friendly and my two pointers enjoyed the handy dog walking field whilst I found the water and electric connections at each pitch a great asset. My only slight grumble was having to unlock the gates each time I went in or out but some people may find this reassuring. I was surprised to find that they regularly only have a couple of units on site..

Fantastic CL

We have just spent 7 nights at this beautiful and quiet CL site. This is the second time we have stayed at mountain view and it will remain our return to site for this part of the country. The new owners Hayley and Paul are a lovely couple who couldn't have been more helpful and gave us a lovely welcome. Each pitch has its own electric point, fresh water and grey water disposal which makes everyday living much easier. Don't forget to bring a longer hose and waste pipe to make use of this facility. Views from the site are fantastic, looking over nearby fields and mountains. Very often you can see buzzards, red kite and even a green woodpecker flying over head. This dog friendly site has its own designated dog walk on a adjacent field which is fantastic. It is fully fenced in and is safe and secure for exercising you pet. There are many pubs close by and the Halfway diner is good for fish and chips. The Hand and Diamond pub at nearby Coedway is dog friendly and is well worth a visit. They do a carvery most lunchtimes ( not Mondays ) . I can highly recommend this lovely peaceful site. In the 15 years we have been in the Caravan & Motorhome Club this is the best Cl we have been to and we can't wait to go back for another visit. David Linda & Tommy

Superb CL site

Having spent a seven night stay here I have to say that for us, my wife and I and two cockerpoos, this has been the best CL site we have stayed on. Being October we were lucky to have had the five pitch site all to ourselves. The location is beautiful with views over the Welsh hills. The site is really well laid out, each pitch having its own fresh water tap and grey water disposal. Chemical waste area is discreet and very practical. The whole site is grassed and almost level, a picnic area is available. This is a dog owners paradise. A full one acre field right next to the site is fully fenced in. This enables your pets to be let loose freely exercised. Thank you so much Peter and Joyce, a most tranquil break. Paul and Chris (not forgetting Oscar and Dolly)

Perfection

You get that peaceful, easy feeling at Mountain View. The owners could not have been more helpful; easy access and an outstanding view. There is an excellent area for your dog and you can let them run free in an enclosed and secure acre field. As mentioned in other reviews-the secrets out and we shall return very soon. 10 out of 10 Highly recommend Dom, Sylvia and Mr Moy (Basset Hound)

A very relaxing 3 days

We stayed for 3 nights at this great CL. The views are fantastic with Long Mountain and The Long Mynd in the distance. A very quiet well maintained site with easy access from the A458 but far enough away from it, so very peaceful. Welshpool is nearby and the scenery is stunning being in Shropshire but right next to the Welsh border. Peter and Joyce were very friendly and supplied a good information pack on arrival. The free wi fi was appreciated. We run a CL of our own and had a quiet period so managed to squeeze in a short break here. You will not be disappointed this is an excellent CL. Perfect site!

I have never said this before but this is a perfect site! The field is flat and well laid out. There is water, electric and waste water outlets at each pitch, and also wi-fi plus 4g reception. The views are really good, it is really quiet, but easy to get to many places of interest. The site is very clean and well kept. The site owner provided a package on arrival of places to visit, and various instructions on site use. There is also an adjoining field for dog walking which is completely secure, and our dogs loved whizzing around it. The nearest pub is about 3 miles away. Well done Peter & Joyce on your fantastic site

Could not be better

This is the bench mark for all cl sites. The site is immaculate the welcome by Peter and Joyce the owners could not be warmer and more welcoming. The views from the site are outstanding and after a nice hearty breakfast a climb up the mountain is not out of the question. Great place well organised a real pleasure to have been here and we will definetly return.
