Great CL
This site is a perfect CL. Set on the edge of Slimbridge there is easy access to three level hard standings and two grass pitches in this sunny open aspect site. The owners couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful. On our way here, when we rang to let them know our journey was delayed due to traffic, we asked them about park and ride for our motorhome in Gloucester (there is none ...) or Cheltenham (both P&R sites have it although only the racecourse advertises it) and received a print out from the owners on our arrival. There can be some distant noise from the A38 and M5 if the wind is in the 'wrong' direction. However we thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend and loved the area, especially our cycle ride along the canal to Frampton on Severn and lunch in The Bell.
Love it!
Extremely well kept, well run CL. Blackboard with pitching instructions upon arrival and Heather came over as soon as we were settled with information leaflet and helpful advice. Very handy dog walk at the top of the field especially for the early morning and bedtime weewees!! Loads of lovely walks across the fields in the area and down to the canal, be careful some of the styles were a little overgrown with nettles! Apart from a slight hum from the M5 (which after the first day you don't notice) you really felt you were in the middle of the countryside with all the obligatory country smells and noises from a working farm. We will definitely be returning, unfortunately the site is already full booked for our next trip to the area so we'll have to wait a couple of months before we return. Thanks for a lovely weeks stay!! A point regarding a comment left back in 2014 regarding damaged caused when entering the field - we have a twin axle van 7.89m long towed by a Toyota Landcruiser - a pretty long outfit - and we had no trouble at all plenty of room to swing in - you just have to be sensible!
Love this site
What a refreshing change to stay on a site so well run and kept. A little narrow on the last part of the approach but otherwise I can't fault it. We'd booked ahead and the owners had a blackboard set up near the entrance indicating which of the five level pitches we were to go onto. Within five minutes of unhitching Mrs Smith came out to greet us and gave us a leaflet they had prepared detailing local supermarkets, restaurants, takeaways, places of interest, map etc. The site has three hard standings and two grass pitches. The grass is all cut short. There are four hookup points and each pitch has a fresh water tap. The cassette emptying point and bins are all kept out of sight but close-by. Quiet, peaceful, rural setting and yet still close enough to the motorway to get about and see the sights. This site is so clean and well looked after. We WILL return.
Excellent CL - Photos don't do it justice
Easy to find and access - clear instructions on the board as to which pitch was ours. They try to save the hardstanding pitches for MoHos but the site's all very level and I doubt the grass pitches would cause anyone any real trouble! Beautifully kept with well trimmed hedges and grassed areas. EHU and water to pitch, grey water can be drained into the planted ditch behind the pitches, and full black water disposal, recycling and rubbish facilities are tucked away behind a hedge! This farm is an arable farm and it's next to a dairy farm so expect to smell silage depending on the wind direction (but it's the countryside and they have farms there - so hey! LOL) Pleasant owners - good value for money - easy walk to WWT Slimbridge and a pretty little village. Great for a weekend or stopover. We loved it!
A lovely CL
