BEST CL SITE.

This is the best Cl Site !! The owners Julian & Stephanie could not have done anymore, arrived to a great welcome, shown to my pitch, shown around the wonderful site and the great facilities, I stayed for 4 nights, really peaceful site, on the 2 nd night was invited to a barbecue with the other guests on site perfectly hosted by Julian & Stephanie, the following day I broke down with my motorcycle on the island, called Stephanie for a taxi number but insisted she came out to pick me up! This is service up and beyond. Anyone traveling to the IOW must visit this wonderful site and lovely owners. John Mills.

A beautiful spot!

What a wonderful setting! Surrounded by countryside and wildlife - swans, geese (and their goslings), ducks and so many different types of birdsong (including screeching owls!). There is electric and water on each pitch and good recycling options. Julian and Stephanie were so welcoming and friendly with lots of helpful information on the area. We were there over Coronation weekend and they let us know what was happening around the island. Stephanie even brought us out special coronation cupcakes on the day! The bus service on the island is very good. (Bus stop is half a mile up a lovely, quiet country lane.) We never came across a grumpy driver, in fact quite the opposite as they were all friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on this beautiful CL. Thank you 😊

Everything you want from a CL and more

Well what can i say? From the first contact the communication was first class, we booked and Justin arranged the ferry for us and then we changed or motorhome and one email and Justin had changed our details with Red Funnel ferries. On arrival the CL is so lovely and well kept and the wildlife is amazing, with swans and so many different birds and wildlife around the fishing lakes. The WiFi is very good, we were on the furthest away pitch and we had excellent reception. Sue and Justin are so welcoming and such a pleasure to meet. Meadow Lakes is a must visit CL and if your a fisherman or lady it's a definite Thanks again Michelle + Mick.

Immaculate, Informal and peaceful

This is a delightful CL site where we spent 4 very enjoyable nights in our motorhome. There are 5 large pitches available, all of them on grass with hook up and water at the corner of the pitch. We were welcomed and shown the site. There is a new building with a very clean toilet and wash basin, a small shop and a covered area with tables where you can eat. It is protected from the wind by a hedge. There is also a fishing lake. The lack of light pollution means that you get a wonderful view of the night sky. It is located a 10-minute walk from the road where there is a regular bus service connecting Newport and Freshwater and the Needles. The bus services on the island is excellent with connections to all areas of the island. We used the buses every day and found them convenient and reliable. So an excellent site in an attractive part of the Isle of Wight. I hope to return. John Baines

Wonderful quiet spot

Stayed at the site for 3 nights in September 2022, peaceful and quiet with views of the fishing lakes and water fowl. Several level walks taken in the area, one to the coastal footpath and back with a stop off in the Crown Inn at Shorwell. Not to miss the local village shop in Brightstone for fresh food and sandwiches whilst out.

One of the best

In a delightful rural setting not far from the coast, this site is attractively laid out and immaculately kept, next to the fishing lakes. Julian and Stephanie gave a warm welcome and were very helpful in arranging discounted ferry tickets and a last minute change of crossing. Views, plenty of walking and wildlife, and a nearby village shop well-stocked with local produce as well as staples. One of the best cl’s we have stayed on in 40 years with the Club. A completely relaxing two weeks.

Fabulous CL

We have just returned from a 9 night stay at this lovely cl which is well kept and set in beautiful countryside with distance coast views. The owners, Julian and Stephanie were always helpful and friendly, and we were warmly greeted on arrival. The pitches are well spaced out and the site is quiet and peaceful with lots of wildlife around the fishing lakes and beautiful views over fields to the downs. We watched hares, rabbits, swans and pheasants from our pitch as well as listening to birdsong. There are lots of lovely walks and cycles straight from the site and the pretty villages of Brighstone and Shorwell are a short distance away, as well as the coast. We would definitely recommend a stay at this CL, and hope to return soon.

Excellent CL, well worth a visit

Made to feel very welcome on arrival. We had a fully serviced pitched which worked very well for us and found the location ideal for visiting all parts of the island. We hope to return next year.

Beautiful quiet site

What a wonderful site! Such a quiet and beautiful location but close to amenities in a lovely local village with pub, village shop and two coffee shops. Stephanie and Julian are so friendly and helpful. We were lucky with the weather when we visited and we managed to see all sorts of wildlife on the site itself with the clearest of night skies adding to the experience. Plenty of walk and cycle rides from the site with bus stop nearby. Simply first class all round and we will be back.

Lovely CL

We were greeted by Julian and Stephanie (they greet all their guests) with the news that our pitch had been waterlogged the day before (not a usual occurrence but due to the extremely heavy rainfall experienced in a short time). They allowed us to set up our 7.5m van away from the official pitch, but close enough to access EHU. It worked perfectly and it dried so we had no trouble leaving. This is one of the cleanest sites we’ve ever been on. There’s a toilet and a shower available for smaller vans for an extra cost. It’s a stunning setting. No light pollution & the lakes are beautiful. We saw magnificent sunsets every day we were there (didn’t manage the sunrise, too early for us). We were walking the coastal path & did two chunks of the walk from Meadow Lakes. It was perfect to walk to Totland on the west one day (the best part of the coastal path in our opinion) and Ventnor another day. The only reason I gave a lower rating for access to local attractions is because the buses aren’t that frequent, but if you time it they work well. We cycled around the area one morning, & despite the fact I am from the island I saw places I had never been to. It really is a stunning part of the island. There’s a good village shop in Brighstone plus a pub and a couple of cafes. Stephanie & Julian really made us feel welcome, we will definitely return to Meadow Lakes.
