A friendly warm welcome on arrival. We didn’t have any contact with Tim and Ivor after that but I’m sure that they would have been helpful had we had any problems. The CL is adjacent to the most beautiful, large garden with a wild life pond which members have access to. The site has a wide wildlife boundary on one side and pastoral fields and the pond on two sides. The site grass is well kept. Services are a short walk but easily accessible.
We were there for ten nights; on our first weekend all five pitches were in use and it felt a bit crowded. Possibly because the pitches seem quite close to one another? For the rest of the stay it was perfect.
A lovely quiet location set in beautiful countryside. We found plenty to do over the ten days we stayed there.
Our second visit to this CL. We couldn't wait to get back following Covid lockdown.
We feel privileged that we are able to explore the owners glorious gardens with many very special, quiet and private sitting-out areas. Take time out to enjoy all these 'extras' which really do enhance a visit to this beautifully maintained CL.
Whilst there, don't miss a visit to the Chalmondeley Arms only a few minutes drive away.
We hope to be back to Manor Farm CL in the not too distant future!
What a beautiful site! Just returned from a long weekend here.
Not far off the A49 to get to it but enough to be away from noisy traffic.
Timothy and Ivan made us feel very welcome.
WC and shower were a great extra for a CL and very clean and shower instantly hot.
Pitch was level hardstanding with decent access for our 4 berth down a gravel driveway. We have no motor mover but had no problem pitching. Site was full while we stayed and obviously popular.
Loved strolling with our dogs around the fantastic gardens with lavender and fruit trees you have to see to believe.A small fishing pond is tranquil and a good spot to relax on the bench.
A family of moorhens inhabit the pond and they have a dove cote full of beautiful white doves.
We also saw goldcrests while we walked in the gardens.
There are bullocks in the field at the back of the site but apart from the mooing were no problem.
We walked the dogs down the lanes locally which only get the occassional tractor coming through.
We were amused by the robot lawn mowers which look like mini Bugatti Veyrons, the dogs weren't so sure!
Water suppy, bins and WC waste just across the lawn near shower/WC.
Great spot for nipping over one border to Wales and the other into Shropshire.
We explored Malpas,Llangollen, Whitchurch and Market Drayton.
All in all a peaceful weekend break.
We will definitely return.
We have been to Manor farm several times over the past couple of years and have just returned from another great weekend.
The owners and very welcoming and the CL is in a really quiet and peaceful location. The gardens are wonderful and the CL is very well maintained. There is ample space for caravans to park and there is a large grassed area where you can also park, should you choose when the weather is dry.
The toilet and shower are both clean and tidy and well maintained.
This CL is close to the Cholmondeley Arms out which has a great menu, great selection of drinks and the manager even gave us a lift back to the CL on Saturday evening. Definitely worth a visit.
The CL is also away from any sources of light pollution and as we discovered on Thursday evening when the sky is clear you have an amazing view of the stars and moon.
Overall a great stay and we plan to return again very soon.
Many Thanks!
This site is in a beautiful part of the world, and Tim and Ivan immediately made us welcome, and showed us around the site. We had a lovely pitch overlooking fields, and the gardens are absolutely stunning. We found the robot lawnmowers very entertaining! We loved the "shed shower" and "shed loo", both of which are great. The site is located in an easy place to make a base for the surrounding area, and the nearby village of Malpas and the Cholmondeley Arms are lovely and well worth a visit.
Tim and Ivan made us very welcome and at home, and even shared some spare plums from their tress - lovely. The site is very peaceful, and we had a fantastic week, and left refreshed and rejuvenated. We cannot recommend this site enough, and will definitely be returning in the near future.
Just returned from our weekend at Manor Farm. I echo all of the previous reviewers comments. The gardens and site are kept immaculate. We had to do some serious manoeuvring to get on the last remaining pitch (we don't have a mover). There are trees which encroach on the pitches too which reduces the space available. There were 6 vans on site all weekend although the one next to us left Saturday and a replacement pitched on the field where we were told we couldn't pitch on our Friday arrival :-(
Prices were also put up by £4 a night to £20 due to Dogfest at Cholmondeley Castle, we were pre warned but our neighbours said they were not!
As my title suggests this is a good CL but could be a GREAT CL if the pitches were spaced out more into the adjoining field which it seems is used as and when. There would then be loads of space for the 6 caravans!
Had a really enjoyable stay at this site recently. The site is on the owners large estate, which has a beautiful pond and formal gardens. The area is peaceful and the owners are very friendly.
You are surrounded by trees and fields, lots of nice walks and good pub nearby.
The only downside is the field is too small for 5 vans to be comfortable - you are VERY close to next van esp if you are the middle van like us - the end ones are OK (ask for an end pitch). There is an empty field next to it and it's a shame vans can't go on here as would make the site perfect! The shower cubicle was really good, but the toilet was in a shed and I didnt feel this gave enough privacy as was next to owners house so people back and to a lot around it and walls very thin if you know what I mean! It could also be locked from outside too! and just needs a few more toilet rolls in there. Toilet and shower very clean though.
There were some dogs off leads and the owners need to just remind people that they should keep them on leads so that they don't bother other people and other people's dogs.
All in all though a lovely place, friendly owners, peaceful and great walking around and about - we will definitely be back.
Storm Doris had left its mark but no more than anywhere else in fact the site held up quite well. The owner was pleasant and met up with us on our arrival to arrange the best place to put our caravan.. (this was not on the pitches but they looked level and big enough)... we were asked to go on the edge of the normal pitching area which was no problem at all. I would of loved to have given Manor Farm cl 5 starts but the facilities were not great in to be honest I was closer to giving it a 3. The toilet is in a shed which I have no problem with but there was no paper and the toilet did not flush as it had no water going to it which left one of my party in a bit of a pickle...(say no more shall we). Perhaps this was an early season oversight and I am sure it will be put right. On saying all this if its peace and quiet you want then this is the place.
Just returned from a long weekend break here, lovely site in a great location. The owners have worked to make this a good CL with shower & toilet, really friendly hosts. The only little niggle being the pitch sizes, as they have installed hard standing that are not big enough to fit car, caravan & awning. Being only a single pace apart it would be overcrowded if full even with the cars parked off the CL area
Spent three nights at this lovely CL in March 2016.
Good, level pitches with lovely views of the surrounding fields.
The site has a nearby duck pond, ducks, geese, hens and golden pheasants, it really is a beautiful place, that I bet looks even better in spring and summer.
Highly recommend the Cholmondeley Arms pub, superb steak and gins!!
Will definitely return.
