Disappointed.

We stayed here one night in August. We met the owner Pam, who was very pleasant and friendly, but we had entered the site from the wrong gateway, apparently. From the direction we approached, there was nothing to show this was not the right entrance. We had read all the reviews - which almost all gave 5 stars - before booking, but frankly we were disappointed. The photos show a very pretty, tidy site but our pitch was in an 'overflow' field, where there were quite a lot of old disused caravans, portaloos, septic tanks, horse boxes etc which looked as if they'd been there a while and could be left there a while yet. We soon discovered that we had to be careful where we walked because there was llama and alpaca poo all over the place. We don't want to cause upset because Pam told us she'd not been at all well, so obviously she's not been able to keep everything spick and span, but she also told us her daughter - whom we didn't meet - usually deals with the bookings and runs the site. To be honest, although the main field (where there were five outfits when we arrived) is quite attractive, the part of the site where we had to pitch is a bit scruffy and unkempt. Although it's not a huge issue, we paid the same fee here as we have paid on sites elsewhere this year, which were immaculately kept and had all mod cons which we were happy to use. The toilets and showers at Manor Farm are 'ok', but - (especially given the efforts being made elsewhere, with the pandemic not over yet) were not especially clean. A shower costs an additional £1 and we used the shower in the 'event trailer', where there wasn't enough hot water to do two showers in quick succession. Good job the weather wasn't cold as well. It was probably unfortunate that although we'd booked in advance, our pitch wasn't in the main field; we would have got a better impression on the whole if we hadn't looked out on derelict vans etc; but sadly, we wouldn't be able to recommend this site.

Peace and tranquillity- a Real gem of a find!👍

What a lovely, peaceful and unique CL. We were warmly welcomed by Philippa on Pam’s behalf who was just lovely. She could not have done enough for us, and was more than happy to let us feed the Alpaca’s and spend time chatting to us. Fab place and would not hesitate to return. Many thanks from Sue and Chris - wonderful hostess Philippa! Xxx

A unique CL: an animal lovers paradise!

We book the site almost at the last minute with limited research and felt so lucky at finding such a gem. Pam was very welcoming on arrival, and each day day she came around to say hello, have a chat and check everything was ok. She introduced us to some of her animals and others introduced themselves. The highlight was giving a six week old alpaca it’s afternoon feed! The site is spacious with electric and water points. Pitches have there own little seating areas, and there are lots of decorative figures dotted around the edges with solar lights to bring more interest to the site. Plants have been used to good effect for decoration and to give some privacy between pitches. The entrance is easy to negotiate and has a gate which is closed at night. Bridgwater is a short drive away, or is a pleasant walk away. There is enough locally to make this a great site for a longer visit!

Peaceful and welcoming

Pam was so welcoming and made sure that everything was just right. The site is interesting with more than just the camping field. It is well maintained and so peaceful. I had to leave my stay early because of illness in the family and Pam contacted me to make sure that everything was alright. For a relaxing stay where you will be well looked after I cannot recommend it highly enough.

What a find.

We stayed here on our way back home from our tour of Dorset and Somerset. We were lucky enough to get the two nights we needed having spoken to Pam, the owner just a couple of days before. We just loved the place as soon as we pulled up. We were met by Pam who pointed us to our pitch and were introduced to Michael the alpaca who was our neighbour for our stay. We also met the mixed herd of alpacas and lama’s and were visited by the farms little terrier. It’s quiet, rural and very relaxing. You can use it as a base to visit the local attractions. Will definitely visit again.

Returning

This is such a nice site will always visit when I am in the area. Pam is lovely, the site is peaceful, surrounding countryside is flat and excellent for walking, easy access to Bridgwater and North Somerset and delightful selection of animals. What's not to like?

A Lovely, Welcoming Site

We spent a lovely couple of nights here. The whole site has been well thought out and Pam is very welcoming and helpful. It really did feel like a true getaway, as it is set in lovely peaceful countryside. There aren't many places where you can relax in a swing seat and watch alpacas, but this is one! We'll certainly be back when we're next down that way. Thank you, Pam :-)

a peacefull stay

this was our third cl stop on a 3 week trip and our favourite one of them all, a warm welcome by pam who has put in a lot of work to get it where it is, a flat level site and some nice touches all add to the peace and quiet , only gripe would be its one of the more expensive cl's .

Another Gem

Stayed here for 3 nights last week in our Motorhome with our Black Lab called Blu. We were given a very warm welcome by Pam. The site is very well kept with picnic chairs / tables and shrubs/ flowers all around. Michael & Bumper were lovely and always in attendance (pay a visit to see what I mean!) There are Llamas & Alpacas in the next field which are very comical & friendly. The shower & toilet are in a separate static caravan which is also full of information & leaflets as well of lots of goodies (like a tuck shop) to purchase on an Honesty Box basis. Pam works very hard to keep the site in pristine condition and goes out of her way to be helpful even giving us delicious chocolate cake on our last evening. We will certainly be back & would recommend this site to everyone. Thank you Pam for making our short stay memorable

Tranquillity and Bliss

We arrived after a tiring 150 mile drive and we were immediately greeted by Pam. She was so welcoming, friendly and helpful that we felt refreshed after our journey! We soon got set up and later she checked we were OK advising us where we could eat and giving us a local Bridgwater guide. On site there is a shower and toilet facility in a static home with more pamphlets and information about the surrounding areas. The grass is cut short and there are many shrubs and flowers to brighten up the area. Every pitch has a set of wooden chairs available for your use. We had come to relax and this site allows you to do that, because there is plenty of space and peace. We come back one day from shopping to find some leaflets that Pam had kindly left on our step, with ideas for places to visit. She was really helpful and keen that you enjoyed your time on her site. We will certainly return to enjoy this lovely site and the friendly owner.
