Everything we needed and great welcome

Stayed in a motorhome - very pleased with hardstanding pitch with water, hookup and drainage. Malcolm and Hilary very welcoming. Would have said it was lovely and peaceful apart from the A65, but not really a problem. Easy walking into Ingleton with shops and restaurants and to Country Harvest cafe/shop almost next door. Mason Arms good but busy - glad we booked. We took a car so we could drive to climb the 3 Peaks (on 3 separate days!). Also visited the Courtyard near Settle for a nice lunch. A really nice CL site and excellent value in August at £12 a night

Will Be Back

One of the clubs' little Gems. On the A65 which gives access to the Lakes and the Dales. What more do you need? The CL now has All hardstandings and electric, water and waste connections. The views are lovely and the distant Morecambe Bay gives off its famous sunsets to light up the evenings.Whilst Ingleborough sits majestically behind you. Do not miss a trip to the local pub, the Masons. As a beer and food bore I can tell you that you will go again. Simply superb for normal prices. Very little noise comes from the A65 but be vigilant, getting out of the site on to the A65. The bikers can come at you rather quickly. Having been one myself, over-use of the throttle could cause problems for them.Just keep your window open and listen for them coming. I wish Malcolm and Hilary all the success they deserve. They have built a beautiful haven. We had a wonderful week. Vera and I will be back. Will score well in CL of the year. Les and Vera Simpson

Great find & Location, we will return

Lovely CL, greeted upon arrival by Mr Lund and made welcome. As with many CL's this is a working farm which we love. Plenty of animals and farm life going on around us. Access was through the farm buildings which was fine, it is tight in places, but certainly not a problem. No problems finding the field. Stunning views of the local area, the main road is far enough away and was not a problem. Each pitch had its own water and electricity points. Our outfit is a Motorhome, I would advise if you drive the same you ask for the hard standing in autumn/winter. The field in late October was starting to get mushy, but I would expect that anywhere this time of year. We will definitely be returning. :)

Great Week at Lundholme

This review was received by post 15 September 2016: We've had a great week at Lundholme (7th to 14th September 2016) and definitely time we made a return visit. Last stayed a week in 1998, maybe your first CL year. The 5 year old paper boy is now 23! Really enjoyed your CL and rediscovering the area like Barbondale, Kingsdale etc. Many thanks Alec and Val Nesbitt

Wet week!

Upon arival at the site we followed the owners instructions and entered from the north (after turning as instructed), there was no one in site so we just followed our noses and drove through the farmyard and came across the site. Long uncut wet grass as mentioned in a previous review, remained uncut all week. We liked the serviced pitches and no charge for porch awning, met the pleasant owners once all week, they do have a farm to run afterall. A spacious site but would benifit from regular grass cutting and access signage.

It is what it is!!

We chose Lundholme for a few nights stop over on our way back home to South Cumbria. We know the area very well and this was only our 2nd visit to a CL site. We arrived Saturday lunch, pouring with rain and no one around to show us where to pitch. Luckily it wasn't long before a family member turned up and showed us where to go. As this is a working farm, we were not put off by this and understood it but maybe exact directions through the farm and down to the field and permission to do so should be made clear when booking. We are in a big 4x4 towing a twin axle and whilst the field is large, parts of the access road through the farm are quite tight but taken carefully is ok. We were disappointed to find that one hardstanding was fully occupied and the other was barely a 2 metre sq. pitch out on its own across the other side of the field. We were also gutted as the grass was really long, not like the above picture at all and whilst the owners are busy farming, I do feel we were mislead by the above picture, I expected short grass and would have been more grateful for it as the rain was torrential on arrival and therefore underfoot was hard work when trying to set up the van. Cannot blame the owners for the rain but can grumble about the grass, sorry!! The Lunds seem a very nice couple, chatted briefly when I managed to catch them on site to pay, tried the farmhouse several times but no answer. No problems at all with water or electrics and radio signal was very good.

A CL site to return to.

We visited this site four years ago, and we were delighted to return again in June this year. The site was quite dry although we had experienced heavy rain on the M6. Nice to have service pitches, good value for money. Lovely views, and easy dog walks. Walking up Ingleborough is breath-taking. Enjoyed a beer at the pub in Thornton Lonsdale.

First Visit

This is a lovely site and a very warm welcome awaits you from Malcolm and Hilary. The scenery and walks are amazing and its a lovely stroll into the village through the fields and along the riverbank. I can't rate this site high enough and will definately be back again. Spoke to a few of the other visitors and they visit year after year and I can see why.

Would Visit Again

Stayed here for the weekend at the beginning of May and were warmly welcomed by the farmer who advised us where everything was and how to access the local village of Ingleton via a short walk over the fields. Great little site and well looked after with fields all around and only a 10 minute walk into Ingleton which has everything you need with some nice pubs, tea rooms shops and a great little chip shop. Lots to do with the waterfalls walk and the cave nearby. Also worth a visit is the country farm shop just a five minute walk from the site towards Kirkby Lonsdale which has a great butcher, deli, gift shop and cafe. My only criticism of the site is the drive through the farm yard to the camp site as its a bit untidy. I fully appreciate that it's a working farm and that farmers are busy people but a tidy up on the approach to the site would pay dividends.  Unfortunately the weather wasn't the greatest the weekend we were there and leaving the site on the Monday morning was a bit tricky due to the hill up to the farmyard but a bit advice and assistance from a fellow CC member got us out. Would we visit again? Yes. Don't let our comment about the farmyard put you off as its a great, reasonably priced little site.

Christmas 2015

Arrived on 23rd and immediately received a warm, smiley welcome from Malcolm the site owner. He showed us to our pitch (hardstand) and explained everything we wanted to know about the area, warning us that the area was sodden due to the amount of rain that had fallen over the past weeks. We soon found out to our cost, having strayed of the hardstand and getting stuck, Malcolm to the rescue! The site is easy to access tucked away through the farm yard, the pitches are generous, each having there own water and ehu. The waste disposal/ bin area is basic but is all that's needed. We had a quiet, enjoyable if wet stay and will be returning in the future.
