Hmm. Not exactly as described

Be aware that the CL is restricted to caravans only and that the facilities are a pair of toilet plus shower rooms- with one additional toilet for ladies only. Also important to note that showers are on a meter - which seems a little odd as electric hook up is included. So why not charge a little extra to cater for showering ? Regarding local shops and facilities - quite simply, there are none other than a local pub. So not sure why the long list of facilities is stated on the site summary. Overall, a very peaceful and quiet site.

Absolutely beautiful and peaceful. Easy access.

We absolutely loved our stay on this beautiful site. The views are sensational and it was so peaceful. Access on and off the site was good. Facilities were excellent and very clean, all to a very high standard. I'm disabled and found it really easy to manage on the site. The owner is very friendly and helpful, couldn't do enough to make us feel at home with a nice welcome when we arrived.

Very friendly

This was my first trip in Campervan with two cockapoos. Had 3 nights in Pembrokeshire and 3 nights here. All very easy and everyone friendly and helpful. There is a lovely toilet and shower block with an information room. All the usual bins, recycling, water and waste facilities. All well looked after. Great walks next to the site where dogs can run, walk up to Great Rissington and back. Bill very pleasant and helpful. I used £1 for each shower which gave plenty of time, 40-60p would also be adequate. You need 20 pences or £1. Get ready for shower as clock starts counting straightaway and money box is outside the building. I would drive off for sightseeing and leave belongings on my pitch quite happily. Table, chair, EHU etc. Lovely place and couple of miles from Bourton.

100% excellent

Arrived on this lovely site, very well kept, lovely location, everything we wanted. I agree it's on a slope but with a bit if thought we pitched up,no dramas. Met the owner a friendly guy who chatted for a while, even said pay when ever you can no rush. The site itself is very well laid out, very tidy and well kept. The information room is excellent and very welcome to us who do not know the area.the shower and toilets are some of the best we have seen. In fact one of our favorite sites in all that we have visited,if we are ever back in the Cotswolds then we will definitely stay again.

it slopes (and has ridges and furrows)

Just got back from a five night stay on lucy's field very peaceful site and location is ideal, the site is well maintained and the motorhome (separate field) area is easily accessible. The caravan area though is the most uneven site I have come across in the years that I have been caravaning. when pitching I tore two feet off the rear stabilisers and grounded the motormover which rendered it unusable, so had to pitch as best as possible without it. Bill the owner pointed out that I obviously had not read the sign on entry advising on how to pitch, which I had not seen as there are a number of signs as you enter the site. Upon checking the sign the next day I can't say it would have made much difference as it read as follows. PLEASE DRIVE SLOWLY & DIAGONALLY RIDGE AND FURROW Bill did help me get the motormover working again the next day but having said that it worked properly before arriving at Lucy's field and failed to work properly on the day I left. During our stay one other caravan broke a foot off a rear stabiliser whilst pitching and were also told of their failure to read the sign and another caravan grounded at the rear whilst trying to reverse in. I spoke to others staying on the site who were also quite surprised not only by the slope but as the sign says, the ridges and furrows, I now have a bill for repairs for the motormover that is greater than the site fee and have never damaged a caravan on any other site. In conclusion it is a well kept site for motorhomes with gentle slope,(and I fully appreciate that the Cotswolds is not flat) but be very wary when you arrive on how you pitch if you have a caravan because there is potential to cause damage.

A really lovely place to stay

We stayed for just one night as a spur of the moment outing. It was a great choice of location, very quiet, an adult only site with large spaces between the vans in the field we stayed in. We stayed on the lower field, the one for camper vans. The field is on a slope and is undulating, presumably from previous long term ploughing. It was very well kept, and it was a nice touch that levelling blocks were made available if you needed them. We stayed at the bottom of the field, with views into the next field where a tree contain a large owl box. Really nice hearing the owl at night, although failed to catch a glimpse! We felt very welcome, and were even offered to use of a hook up lead if we needed one. The facilities were well maintained, clean and more than we expected on what is a small site/CL. Location is great, close to Bourton-On-The-Water and other Cotswold destinations. We would certainly come back and stay here again.

Excellent CL

We stayed at Lucy’s Field for four nights. The left hand field is actually the CL and is reserved for caravans. Motor homes and camper vans use the right hand field which is named Ashspring Camping. It is an adult only site for a maximum of 15 units. This was not an issue for us as the site is incredibly peaceful and spacious. The ground is undulating and slopes, but we pitched at the bottom of the field and didn’t need levelling blocks at all. If you pitch elsewhere there are additional blocks adjacent to the EHUs that can be used in addition to your own blocks. Upon arrival if the owners are not on site then just pitch where you fancy. The gravelled track allows for ease of access rather than having to drive across the grass. There is a separate ladies’ toilet and two more toilets in the shower cubicles. A useful outside sink with cold water only is available too. We found the facilities to be immaculate - it is clear that the owners really care about this site! The showers need to be paid for which we didn’t realise, so night one we had to wait as we had no cash on us. 20p gets you a basic wash, with 40p more than enough for a bit of luxuriating! There is also an information room with useful leaflets etc for anyone looking for ideas for visits. We were able to access local footpaths from the site as well as great cycling routes. The Lamb Inn in the village is about 10 minutes away on foot and was a great place for an evening meal. You can hear the occasional car on the adjacent road, but it was merely background noise and didn’t detract from the birdsong and sense of quiet. Bill, the owner, pops round each evening and is very friendly and helpful. All in all a great site that we plan to return to many times.

A really lovely and peaceful site.

This CL site is just so lovely, it is peaceful and tranquil. Our pitch was great we were allowed to choose where we wanted to stay on the lower field which has amazing views. We stayed here for 2 nights and would definitely return if we were around that area again. There are showers on site which were clean and tidy. We were not aware of needing coins for them however this was not an issue as we feel the price for the site was good value for money. It is near by the places we wanted to visit without too much travelling. A real gem of a find.

Flying visit.

What a lovely CL. Wonderful views. Peace and quiet and lots of wildlife. Splitting the caravans up from the Motorhomes works well as the other field is a bit easier for Motorhomes to park on. facilities are shared between the two fields and although they were not open just now, it all looked very clean and well organised. The toilet was open and is very nice, considering it’s just a small shed on a small site, I was very impressed.. Owner came to greet me when I arrived and then came back to help as I had a problem levelling up, which I was a bit embarrassed about as I usually do it completely alone. He also has lots of wooden levellers to borrow. He said I could park up anywhere I liked and if it’s not near a hook up he can provide an extension. Overall very helpful and welcoming and a neat and well kept site with amazing sunsets! I only had one night, but will definitely go back as I’m only 2 hours away. Great for a weekend away.
