Just returned from a fabulous weekend stay at Lower Moorend View. We arrived Friday night and were met by Natalia who told us where everything was. It was dark and extremely windy when we arrived, however, we were soon set up and cosy! Fab hard standing pitches, although you will need levelling blocks as the site does slope. Our van was on the slope, but due to the dark and wind we decided to leave it be and made do for the two nights (after a glass of wine we didn't notice the slope!). In the morning we were able to appreciate the fantastic panoramic view from all of the five pitches! There is a tap for each pitch to connect to along with electric hook up. Located in the corner of the site is a recycling bin, rubbish bin and chemical toilet emptying point. There is also a gents and ladies toilet - which were heated and information on the local area, things to do and places to eat. We set off for a walk around the area on Saturday - there are plenty of footpaths easily accessible from the site, along with numerous pubs! Later in our stay we met Dan and his mum. They were all extremely friendly. This site is only 10 minutes drive from our home and we've already booked up to go back again. Would highly recommend!
Good New CL with a View
We stayed at this newish CL over the August BH. Firstly booking easy, all via email with great prompt replies. The route to the site from Ashbourne is easy, no narrow lanes and there are site signs at the bottom of the lane. The entrance is through 2 wide gates past the farmhouse. The site slopes slightly and we had to use a ramp to level the caravan but other pitches seemed ok.
All pitches are narrow hardstanding, just wide enough for caravan or MH. Awnings are pitched on the grass. There is plenty of space between pitches. Each EHU also has a double tap, so almost service pitches. There are also 2 toilets on site. The views over the Staffordshire Moorlands are lovely, as it's on a hill. It could however be a bit exposed in windy weather. There is a large quarry next door but as it was BH it was quiet, may be some noise during the week.
There is a fab little dog friendly pub a few minutes walk from the site The Yew Tree Inn, it's full to the rafters with collectables and antiques. The beer and food were good too.😉 Ilam Hall and Dovedale are a short drive away and make a lovely day out. The Monsal Track for cycling is only about a mile away, just the other side of the village.
The owners do have a couple of dogs, one of which is chained up outside the house, and it does bark when anyone walks past, which we warned about on arrival, but it still made us jump the first time we went out on foot.
We had good phone &4G signals with ee, good tv reception too.
We enjoyed our stay and hope to revisit in the future.

Beautiful CL
Stunning location with beautiful views. The facilities were clean and the pitches large. Also a friendly and warm welcome from Danny and Natalia. The Yew Tree pub is well worth a visit, about 5 minutes walk. We hope to return soon. Stu and Jennie
Great CL site
We stayed here for a weekend and had a great time. The owners Danny and Natalia made us feel very welcome and were on hand to help when needed. They have done a super job with the site. The site is slightly sloping, so we used levelling ramp, it has spectacular views across the Staffordshire Moorlands. Beautiful! There are good toilet facilities also onsite. We had such a nice weekend we are going back soon. John, Vicki and kids.

Great site
Stayed for 2 nights. Owners welcoming and helpful. Lovely views in all directions. Toilets new and clean. Easy to find. Easy access to Peak District. Walking distance to 2 pubs, although we only had time to try one - The Yew Tree Inn - which was full of character and did a lovely pie and mash. Close enough to one end of the Manifold Trail to cycle from the site. Will be back.

Lovely site
Just back from a 5 day stay here and had a great time. Views from the van are second to none, looking out to beautiful hilly scenery. The owners were extremely kind and accommodating to us and had lots of tips and advice on exploring the local area. The site is downward sloping (nothing dramatic) but you will need a levelling block. It is worth noting there is a quarry behind the site. We found the noise to be minimal and did not really disrupt our enjoyment in anyway but it is worth mentioning. Overall this is a great little site for the views alone and one that I am very sure we will be back to and I thorough recommend it it to others. 👍
