Fantastic

Having only returned a week ago we will be heading back there tomorrow. This is a real find, large well laid out Pitches and beautiful views. The facilities are immaculate and the owners Graham and Andrea so friendly and helpful. We tend to try not to repeat sites as there are so many to try but we loved the area and feel we will be doing this one on a more regular basis. There are several NTs in the area the best of which is Stourhead and well worth a visit. At the moment with the bluebells and other spring flowers in full bloom this really is a wonderful area to visit and a great base to stay.

Beautiful

Just returned from our second visit and already planning to return in the summer. The site is perfect with plenty of space on each pitch and all the facilities you need. Showers/toilets pristine and the whole setting is lovely. Thank you Graham and Andrea.

Perfect

What a fantastic site! Nestled in a wide sunny valley, with lovely rural views. It's right beside a railway line, but there are two trains an hour, we quite like to hear them! To our surprise it's unfenced by the railway company so we were careful to keep our dog on the lead when on the footpath beside it.  Clean tidy but natural.  Sites separated by shrubs which will grow and form a good privacy barrier.each site has its own hook up and tap.   Showers and loo, warm and spotless and FREE!  Very friendly dealings with all the sites organisers.  Shaftesbury is great and has a lovely craft market on the third Sunday of the month. We would love to return.

A Superb CL

Just spent three nights at this wonderful site. Made most welcome by the owners. The site is very clean and tidy. The showers and toilets are perfect. Mainly hard standing with own water and ECU. Would definitely come here again. Bob and Margaret Webb

What a find!

Just spent 7 glorious nights at Lower Liston and couldn't ask for more from any caravan site. Don't be put off by any negative comments, particularly about the trains. The noise on bigger sites is far more intrusive and to be frank I can't understand why anyone would be disturbed by them. We can't thank Graham and family enough for the warm welcome, advice and recommendations. The Benett Arms in Semley serves excellent food and dogs are welcomed. The fresh, free range eggs on site were a welcome treat. The toilets and showers are immaculate and the site is maintained to an excellent standard. If you're looking for a peaceful and relaxing base which allows you to explore beautiful scenery and historical sites, then book as soon as possible. We're already planning a return visit.

Absolutely Lovely x

Spent 10 days here in July 2016, 5 very spacious hardstanding and several grass pitches all level with their own tap and electric plug in point, soon to have own drainage and tv point which will then make em super pitches and if the price stays the same £16.00 a night, great value ! Toilet and shower block get cleaned every day, facilities for washing up, recycling area, and plenty of dog walking on and off the site. the trains were great so don't let that put you off, pity they aren't the old steam trains. All the hard standing were full on our arrival bar one so No 1 pitch was ours, No 5 is the best ! Graham and Andrea run the site together as a team and it works, always on hand for help and advise if they aren't they are only a phone call away, very knowledgeable on the surrounding area as far as sightseeing and eating out. Fresh eggs are available but the hens were on strike during our visit. This site is a credit to the two of them and the Caravan Club other sites should follow their example, well done and thank you for making us so welcome during our stay. Skip Rat and his wife will return from Yorkshire for another visit xx

English countryside at its best

A very lovely location with beautiful views. The facilities e.g. water and electricity on each pitch, plus the standard of the toilets/showers excellent. Lots on space on each pitch and the owners really very helpful and friendly. Slight down side for us was the trains running close by. Positive side though is that they stop about 10pm. We are hoping to stay again in October time so obviously didn't put us off. An adult site you will not be disappointed with.

a hidden gem

Have just had a week here, what a find!!. Slight hiccup with our arrival, as no one at home and gates locked, but a phone call to Graham, code for gate given and we were in. First 2 nights we were on our own and had a choice of pitches. There are now 6 hardstandings and 6 or 7 grass pitches. Each of the hardstandings have their own water tap, and soon will have grey water drain too...they are in but not yet connected. Apparently each pitch will also soon have tv, Wifi is poor in the area, but I think Graham has plans for this too!! The showers are immaculate with hot water at all times. NIce touch in the ladies, there is handcream there too. We did have 8 on the Saturday but it was not a problem with all those pitches to chose from, and I can honestly say that in the whole of the week, neither myself or my wife saw anyone else in the shower block. There is a small field to exercise dogs, and there is also a small paddock at the bottom of the site, where Graham said we could take the dogs, only problem there was the grass was very long, as were the nettles on the "Woodcock Road" footpath. We took Graham's advice and went to the Bennet Arms in Semley village for food, a good meal and a very friendly pub. There are a good few National Trust properties within a reasonable distance and an English Heritage one too. We will return at some point as there is lots to do in the area and Graham is improving the site all the time. It is now adults only, a good move on his part, as lots of farm machinery around, and parents cannot be watching kiddies all the time. Graham is also keen to hear of any suggestions that people may have. There is a railway close to the site, but its not intrusive, short trains, that have gone in 2 seconds and they dont run all night either.

A wonderful CL site

A very warm welcome from Graham on our arrival. We decided to go on a grass pitch which was very big with plenty of room for our caravan, awning and car. The view was amazing as very the facilities on this very well run CL.  Close to Shaftesbury, Sherbourne and NT Stourhead. We will definately be coming back to this site.
