We chose Lower Cockden Farm because of its proximity to HAPPA (horse and pony sanctuary). Megan was very helpful and friendly on the phone when booking. On arrival, it was easy to drive to from the M65 motorway and Kevin gave us a very friendly welcome at the gate. The site is lovely, peaceful and quiet. We had two kids with us and the grassed area was well maintained and perfect for playing. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back again. Highly recommended for a base to visit this area of Lancashire and over the border into Yorkshire. The Hare & Hounds up the road looked nice but wasn’t serving food that day - went to a pub 10 minutes away (The Shooters) and had a great Sunday lunch. Food at HAPPA is also great (5 minute drive), particularly their breakfast, which is cooked fresh and supplied by excellent local butchers.

Very welcoming helpful owners
Lovely quite site
Great views
20 min walk to pub

Simply beautiful
What a gorgeous CL in a quiet private place. Perfect for a relaxing weekend. This beautiful maintained farm is surrounded by rolling hills with beautiful views and lots of wildlife. Very helpful owners on arrival, Kevin on the phone and Ian in person. We were even greeted by a baby lamb running around the pitches. A charming place with a pub at the top of the road.

Lovely stay
Just stayed overnight .
Lovely site very peaceful And the owners were lovely people.
I was gong to the football at Turf Moor .My friends were.staying in a Travelodge.
I opted to take my motorhome and the site was perfect .
10/15 mins walk to the bus stop and 15 mins into Burnley.
I was allowed to checkout at 3pm as well.
Ideal stop to see local attractions.
Lovely site
A Working weekend away for us we just needed a convenient, no hassle place to stay so this site was perfect for us with the owners being exceptionally friendly and helpful. It is a cosy yet easy site (no tight manoeuvring spots). The whole area is well kept and a pretty location, access is via a secure gate, it has a single toilet, washing area with plenty of hot water and recycling area for your rubbish. The site is fairly level although you may want to use ramps for final adjustment. You can walk up the lane to the local pub although we didn’t actually go in as they weren’t serving food until 12th June (so the notice board said). I would be happy to recommend this site as a good one and thank the owners for all their help over the weekend.
Peaceful Bank Holiday Break
We used this CL over the late May BH and it is a quiet and peaceful oasis in what is quite a built up and busy area.
The entrance / exit needs care with a long unit and some of the pitches are sloping, they are however hardstanding and also have a tap and drain each. The owner also kindly provided a section of pipes to enable us to use the drain for our waste water. There is a clean toilet and washing up sink. The site has an electric gate for added security and you will need a £10 deposit for the fob to open the gate.
The owners Mr&Mrs Head were very friendly and provide lots of information on things to do and walks in the area. You can access lots of footpaths directly from the site, good for dog walks although there were cattle in some of the fields.
We walked up to the Hare & Hounds pub, (care is needed on the road as there isn't a footoath) which now does 2 meals for £14, and a sekction of real ales. We visited Haworth, and Hardcastle Crags and of course Pendle Hill all of which are only a short drive away. This is a very pleasant CL the only negative being there were 6 vans/motorhomes on site and another being stored onsite while we were there, although this didn't impact on our stay and we thought the CL was good value at £14 and would use it again when visiting the area.
One of the Best
Have just returned home from lower Cockden and all we can say is perfect... the Easter weather did help but all the pitches are hard standing and of a generous size. Water and drainage on each pitch and an immaculate unisex toilet and pot washing area. Owners were so welcoming and extremely friendly... came out to watch you onto pitch if read.... nothing too much trouble... one that we will remember for a long time...we will definitely return

Pleasant & Value for Money
Just got back from two night stay at this site. Fully serviced pitch and a nice clean toilet on site. Peaceful and lots of walks from the site and lovely scernery.
Owners very welcoming and helpful with information on the area and the local pubs. We walked to the Hare & Hounds which was just up the road. Although no meals are served at the moment the locals informed us they where interviewing a chef.
We will definitely call here again. 👍
Little Gem
Short and sweet....A little gem.
Ian was very helpful and friendly beyond belief!!! quiet and peaceful just how we like it.
Fantastic welcome, very kind to us as first timers
Booked this CL as for our first trip out in our brand new caravan. On arrival Ian and Kevin greeted us with a friendly smile from the moment we pulled up at the gate and were both out helping us navigate the turn into the site. They were really flexible on our arrival and departure time which meant no additional pressure for us given it was our first time. They also didn't bombard us with advice but they let us get on with setting up at our own pace and let us know they were there if we needed them. They even gave us some blocks of wood to keep for our corner steadies and let us borrow some drain pipe for our grey water.
Site itself is a nice little paddock with hard-standing pitches and separate area for parking cars. We had the pitch under the tree right by the beck. It required us to rotate the van 180 degrees which was a bit tricky but thankfully we had a motor mover which helped a lot. Pitches are fully serviced and had lovely views across the fields. We could watch the sheep and birds in the morning.
Local Spar is just down the road for last minute supplies. They have a security light and an electric gate making it also feel nice and secure overnight. We will be back again in the near future.
