Great CL But !!!

This is an absolutely lovely CL and just what CL,s are all about Anna couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly and you definitely need to follow her advice about navigation especially with a caravan. And here’s the But!!! It’s very small lanes for an 8ft caravan and vw van tow vehicle especially when you meet a Bus coming the other direction. Along with a load of abuse from a local in a car behind the Bus. Fortunately we could just about reverse into a side road. I personally think sites should be vetted by the club for what vehicles they are appropriate for and this CL is more suited to smaller none towing vehicles in my opinion. Also knowing this is on a bus route would have been very helpful. This is no way detracting from how nice this CL is but this was a very stressful experience leaving that I wouldn’t want anyone else to have to experience.

Comment from the Club:

Thank you for your review and for highlighting how lovely this CL is, as well as the helpfulness of Anna. We greatly appreciate your feedback and would like to address some of the concerns you raised.

The CL Owners have been operating this CL for over 10 years and have not received previous complaints about access. They regularly navigate the recommended route with a similar-sized unit without issues. Cornwall is known for its narrow, winding lanes, which are part of its charm. The route they suggest is a regular school and public bus route and is also used by milk tankers delivering to the local cheese factory. With patience and careful driving, these routes are negotiable even with larger vehicles.

We understand that encountering a bus and receiving abuse from another driver was stressful, and we regret that your experience was tarnished by this.

Our sites are visited by CL Inspectors to check that they are suitable for towing large units competently.

We hope this clarifies any concerns and reassures future visitors of the manageability of the CL Site. They look forward to welcoming guests who wish to enjoy their beautiful and peaceful CL.

A truly wonderful gem of a CL

This is a gem of a CL and what they should be all about, escaping and relaxing in tranquility in beautiful surroundings with stunning views. The pitches are spacious and everything is well laid out with great recycling facilities. The welcome from Rob and Anne was warm and informative. The pack we received on arrival was a fantastic touch. We have found ourselves on our own on a Bank holiday weekend and I’m surprised no one else has appeared!! Yes it is off grid, no electric but how much electric do we need at this time of year when we’re getting away from it all? For those that prefer not to use their on board loo there is a a facility with toilet and basin which is immaculately clean. Jams and marmalade can be purchased. There are greetings cards and other items for purchase with Anne’s prints from her paintings. Please, ditch the electric and give off grid a go. You will not be disappointed with this site and very well looked after. We will be back ! PS make sure you follow their directions!!

Field With A View

Field With A View’ Beautiful grass site facing south towards breathtaking Bodmin Moor. It is a quiet site with a light traffic on the road behind Owner watercolour paints and you can purchase her card prints together with homemade jams, marmalade’s and jellies. At the gate is a few potted plants for sale also. The owners were very welcoming and full of local knowledge and happy to share. There is also an information pack of ‘what to do locally etc’ in the impressive little loo ‘shed’ which is rather quaint, exceptionally clean and large enough to have a wash up too if needed. Dogs are accepted and in front of the site is a large dog walking field, which is great if you have a dog that enjoys just that, however the only downfall was the lack of public walking with dogs as most lovely local walks were over stiles. That’s okay if you have a little dog you can lift up and over safely, but not for our big Labrador, but apart from that we thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay and can highly recommend. It was also priced very reasonable. No hook up, we paid £10 a night in June. For the twitchers out there we were lucky enough to see a Red Kite stalking it’s prey high in the sky with the backdrop of the Bodmin Moor in front of us. We will definitely go back if in that area again.

Perfect quiet spot

Everything is here for a relaxing stay. Owners are helpful and friendly, and the site is well-organised. Walks straight from the van. Dog-friendly, and extremely peaceful. Thoroughly recommended.

Wow this is a hidden gem. Not to be missed!!

Wow, this is a hidden gem. Not to be missed!! Beautiful views across the valley. Access to an almost new toilet facility. The most peaceful and clean caravan site I have ever visited, Anne and Rob (the owners) could not have been more welcoming and organised. Conveniently located for doing day visits to the beach and other attractions. We have stayed here three times and will visit again in the future.

Wow, wow, wow!

I originally booked this site as it wasn’t too far into Cornwall and husband had always said that we would not be taking our 8m Motorhome into Cornwall, ever! Not far off the A30, you only have to drive a few miles down country lanes to reach this immaculate CL with amazing views. The site itself is level and well drained, there is a bathroom that was very clean although we didn’t need to use it and an added benefit of having a drive over grey waste disposal point for Motorhomes. Rob and Anne are so welcoming and friendly, they have made this CL very special, it is definitely on our list of top 10 favourite sites. There’s so much to see & do, within easy reach of both the North & South Coastlines of Cornwall. We explored all over on our scooter, across Bodmin Moor, stopping off at Jamaica Inn and then over to the coast at Tintagel, a beautiful place with amazing cliffs. So lovely to return to the Motorhome after a busy day just to sit with a glass of wine and admire the wonderful view in such peaceful surroundings. Sunday lunch at the nearby Rising Sun Inn was delicious as was Anne’s homemade strawberry jam. We will definitely return to this CL, I can highly recommend Little Trenarrett.

True CL

Booked at this CL at last minute. All other local sites full, but they had mains power... Found we were only people in CL, or indeed in sight. Enjoyed watching the sheep. And occasional rabbits. Grand daughter loved it. The owner was very kind to us all and showed us around the small farm. Our grand daughter knows the names of the dog and the sheep. She liked the geese and chickens too. The owner could not have been kinder or more generous. Toilet well maintained and clean. Recycling neat and tidy. This is a basic CL for those of us who love peace and beauty. Owner has a bench there to come and sit and enjoy the view. Being midway between Cornwall coasts meant we could easily get to both for days out. Local pub has good food and is friendly. The local church hall lunch on Thursdays is not to be missed. They even get coaches... Local church was used for Doc Martin wedding. Lovely old place of worship. And the CL price! Enjoy!

Perfection

The site and welcome were so good we will return. Fantastic views and so quite. Would suggest approach from the west as instructed. We came from the east, but got away with it driving a 7m motorhome. Many thanks Mike.
