Little Orchard Cl site is an oasis of tranquility, made even more special by the kindness of the owners who came to our rescue when the road was closed. The charming presence of a duck family and a friendly hen added to the natural charm of the site. The cozy cabin provided a perfect retreat, complete with local information and the option to unwind by listening to music or watching TV. A delightful getaway for those seeking both relaxation and a touch of nature. Thank you Paul & Caroline, you are perfect hosts, we will definitely be back.
We have been coming here since it opened in 2011 , its a lovely CL pitches are huge and spaced out had a lovely welcome from Caroline . There is a summer house to sit in and table and chairs to each pitch , there is ducks and chickens running about , amazing sun sets in the evening so peaceful . Downham Market is just a 8 miles away with shops , cafe's and pubs , the garden centre there is worth a visit and does lovely meals , Denver Sluice is near Downham Market there is some lovely walks by the water and some lovely walks from the site , in all a peaceful week . We will be back .
We arrived to a warm welcome from Caroline, the chickens and the ducks. The site is beautifully set out with some quirky little touches. There is a little summerhouse with loads of local info. The pitches are big with a little table and chairs on each. Lovely and quiet and just what was needed to recharge the batteries. Thank you.
Fabulous. The site is beautifully laid out and has many nice touches, like the table and chairs and bird feeders on each pitch, the larger table and chairs at the end, and the delightful summerhouse with softchairs, TV, stereo and delicious fresh eggs for sale. Watch out for Humphrey Bogart and Marilyn Monroe lurking in the corners.
There’s a great variety of birdlife here, quite apart from the ducks and chickens that stroll around the site during the day.
The owners are very friendly and helpful, and the whole place really is a delight.
Stayed for a week and would happily have stayed longer.
Will be back!
We are so glad we stayed at this lovely site. Only 4 pitches, and plenty of space. We could just sit and completely relax. The birds were lovely and always around. The country lane was very quiet and we were only distracted by a very occasional jet from the nearby RAF base. That was quite interesting though. We didn’t use the summer house or fireplaces, but they were a nice touch. If we lived closer then we would be regular visitors. Well done and thank you Paul and Caroline
The owners were away when we arrived but had told us exactly where we could park and also had left an information booklet which had all been communicated beforehand. They came to visit us as soon as they got back to ensure we'd settled in ok. The pitches on the site are very generous with lots of shrubs for privacy and the addition of a table and chairs on each pitch was a lovely touch. We were here during a heatwave so were outside more than we were inside.
There is an information room which is generously equipped with leaflets about local attractions, books, furniture and a t.v. There are free range chickens and ducks who wander the site, and can materialise seemingly from nowhere when you sit down to eat!! Their eggs are for sale too. The grass of the actual pitches was well-mown and the cut grass raked away, no mean feat when the temperatures are in the upper 20s, possibly higher.
The site is handy for just about everywhere by road and also provides access to a small network of local footpaths and a modest wildlife area run by the parish. It's surrounded by fields on 4 sides and there is an abundance of flora and fauna to be seen.
The only niggle, and this is no reflection on the site owners at all, is it can be a bit noisy. The access to everywhere comes at a cost and this is a busy A road which is the other side of the horse paddock and which was clearly audible throughout the day (although quieter at night). We may have noticed it more because it was so hot we had to have our windows open all day and night. Also on the first 3 days there were jets landing and taking off at RAF Marham nearby and the noise of their engines was earsplitting as they were so low. However what an opportunity to plane spot if that is an interest for you! Again, the jets didn't fly at night and after the 3 days we didn't hear them for the rest of the week.
We thoroughly recommend this site and enjoyed our week's stay here.
First time on the site but definitely will not be my last. A wonderful weekend of peace, wonderful weather and a very well look after site. Lovely surroundings countryside and excellent walks for our dogs
Beautiful little CL with free roaming chickens and ducks. Lots of wildlife, birds, squirrels and rabbits. We stayed for one night only on our way to Snetterton circuit for BTCC so can’t really comment on local amenities but, coming from the Norfolk coast and passing by here often we were delighted to find this hidden gem. We will be back for a longer stay!
Very local site for us. Very warm welcome from Caroline &Paul. No problems with a twin axle but when you arrive it is just so pretty table & chairs on every pitch. Summerhouse with information television & computer to use. Very dog friendly there are chickens & ducks on site was very surprised my dog's didn't take any notice. Look forward to returning next year.
