Cheeky breakaway in the Motorhome post Lockdown
We were tipped off about this lovely CL by friends who had stayed there and seeing as we were looking for a local to us site, this seemed to fit the bill nicely. Access to the site is off the main road and is wide enough to get off the road safely before stopping in front of the security gates. A quick call to the owner and the gates are soon opened for you.
The site is pretty flat all over, nicely maintained and feels safe and secure. In part due to the river by the side, the trees and hedgerows surrounding the ground and not forgetting the key-fob operated gates too. John has now laid in EHU and water to the five pitches, which are generously spaced around the periphery.
The services are laid out sensibly, but at the time of writing there was no "driver-over" grate to allow motorhomers to spill their grey waste. An option there for the time being is to take a suitable flattish container and void into that before hand carrying to the elsan point. The shower/toilet were out of bounds due to Covid-19 so we didn't bother to look at them.
The site is a few minute's walk to a good sized Waitrose and a few minutes more to Thame high street. Perfect for nipping over to top up the beer and gin stocks! The local cricket club ground is less than three minutes away, and easily reached on the level. All in all, a nice little site which deserves to flourish. Friendly, helpful owners too, which is always a plus!
