Beautiful views

Warm welcome on arrival by Colin, and a choice of lovely well spaced pitches. Each pitch has its own unique vista, wether this be Criffle Hill, the Waterloo Monument or some of the vintage farm machinery and tractors. All the facilities were spotless, with hand gel readily available and Sandra making regular rounds to keep everything spic and span. A short walk from the site led to Sweetheart Abbey, and the local cafe, selling excellent coffee and scones amongst many other choices. We had a fabulous peaceful and relaxing stay, our first outing for 2021 as the restrictions start to ease. Hope to be back again! One of the best CL’s we have had the privilege to stay at in our 30 years of caravanning.

Pretty and peaceful site

Was met on arrival with a welcoming and friendly smile, and could immediately see how well kept and pretty the location was. The pitch size is fantastic and the views are amazing, we had the pleasure of being neighboured next to the goats which was an added bonus for entertainment! Every detail on the site, such as the painted farm machinery and flowers, to well manicured grass and bird feeders dotted all around made this CL site so pretty. Everything is clean, well positioned, private and it is ideally situated for some lovely walks with the dogs. Also, the local village has a lovely gift shop/cafe ‘Abbey Cottage Tea Rooms’ and I would definitely recommend popping in for something to eat or just a coffee and sweet treat, you won’t be disappointed. Our first ever visit to Scotland but we would definitely visit again and look to stay at Landis Farm.

Lovely site

Just back from a 4 night stay at Landis Farm. Very peaceful site with very helpful and welcoming hosts. Plenty walking directly from the site and/or a short drive away. There is direct access to the Kirkconnel flow, although the walking route was a wellie job due to a couple of muddy gateways. 10 minute drive to a lovely beach at Sandy Hills. Exceptionally clean and well kept site with sanitisers at the major touch points. Liked it so much we booked for over New Year before we left

wonderful location and site

We stayed for 9 nights in August 2020 and had a wonderful time. The site is on a farm looking out to Criffel and within walking distance of New Abbey. Farm has an amazing collection of vintage tractors, most of which were in regular use whilst we were there. Toilets and showers are clean and modern. Best CL we've stayed at. Lovely views and plenty of space on each pitch. The goats are amusing and enjoy standing on the rocks and stumps in their field, and the cat always seems to know when its mealtime!

10 days at Landis Farm

We recently stayed at Landis Farm for 10 days and had a lovely time despite a of bad weather. The site it's self is well laid out and the 5 pitches are well spaced to allow for minimal intrusion on fellow members, the access to fresh water and other site ammenties is very good and there is a toilet block on site and a shower block on an adjacent private site which can be used by club members. Access to the site is good and all the pitches are hard standing. It is a very quiet site with views of the surrounding country side and easy access to the village of New Abbey either by road or on foot where there is a pub, shop and a good cafe next to the Abbey. The site is well placed to allow members to explore both the stunning country side and the South West Coast of Scotland and is a good place for bird watchers to see the many migrant birds that pass through this area. Towns like Dumfries and Castle Douglas are also easily accessible where there are a good range of shops cafes and pubs and some excellent museums to visit like the Devils Porridge Museum and the lovely little Savings Bank Museum. This for us is a site we will revisit and soon I hope.

What a wonderful site

We went to this site earlier this year and very much hope to be able to get in again soon. The facilities are beautifully kept and its just feels welcoming and cosy. We have two biggish dogs and were able to exercise them easily from the campsite which is a must for us. The local area offers a lot of choice from small lochs, hillwalking, and seaside experiences. Dumfries is close enough to shop daily if necessary without being too close to be a hinderance. The local village is a short walk away over fields and offers a local shop, pub and cafe.

Perfect pitch.

A beautiful little site, trees and plants surround each pitch and the birds frequent the bird feeders in the trees. We enjoyed a very good welcome and will certainly visit again.

Cracking little CL

We stayed just one night whilst driving on the SWC300 route. Lovely people and probably the best CL we have used. Great location and very dog friendly. Provided a good toilet facility and each pitch was hardstanding with a table and bench. Lovely gardens with bird feeders making it a popular wildlife spot. Sometimes we pick routes and choose CLs along the way but occasionally you find one that you hope to return to and spend more time. For us, this site is one we will revisit when we get the chance. Would not hesitate to recommend.
