Quite peaceful
Arrival was easy but I am glad we followed the directions given in the handbook; some of the local roads are a bit skinny!
The CL is set in about an acre of gently sloping grassland. I needed all my leveling blocks. We checked in at the pub after we had set up for a well deserved drink and were made welcome by publican, regulars and some other Club members from the site. We ate there three times during our stay and were never disappointed. Wadswoth beers were well kept and as ever, enjoyable.
From here the Vale of Pewsey has some nice towns around which to wander. The Kenet and Avon Canal is busy and its towpath is only a short walk away. Swindon is home to a Railway Museum and a big shopping outlet. The sky was always full of helicopters or light aeroplanes and you are not far from Royal Wooton Bassett and RAF Wroughton where the Science Museum houses some of its bigger avaition pieces.(only open a few days a year).
