Lovely Site

This is a lovely, peaceful site. Booking by email was easy, and we were made to feel very welcome by Mark when we met him on the evening on the day of our arrival. The good sized pitches are well spaced out - having both water and electric hookup was excellent for our 5-day stay. Well worth a visit.

Very secluded rural site

We were a little nervous about the access to this site, and it is quite a long drive down typical narrow Cornish lanes, but we didn’t have any problems. The upside is the total peace and tranquility of the location which we really enjoyed. The pitches are huge and give you lots of privacy. We really appreciated the list of suggested walks left by Mark and Jo by the bin area, and we enjoyed visiting Heligan, Mevagissey, St Mawes etc. There are loads of birds around and the highlight for us was watching a barn owl hunting over the meadow at dusk. This is a perfect site for nature lovers and those who want to get away from it all, and it’s a good base for exploring this beautiful part of the world.

So happy to see this site back!

We first stayed on this site in 2010 again in 2011 and 2013. It was fantastic then and we were so disappointed when it disappeared when we looked to visit Cornwall again in 2019. When I saw it was open again in the magazine we threw caution to the wind and booked in January in the hope that COVID regulations would allow us to visit in June. We have just returned from a 2 week stay and cannot rate this site highly enough. Jo and Marc have worked very hard to enhance the site and it is better than ever. Huge pitches fully serviced with water and electricity and naturally screened for a bit of privacy. The site is immaculately kept and the nature copse planted by a previous owner is a wildlife haven. Jo and Marc are a lovely friendly couple and deserve to do well with this site. Book early you won’t be disappointed.

Fantastic site

We were here for three nights on pitch 6, which we loved as it was quiet, spacious and had great views. Good directions from Jo on best way in to avoid narrow lanes as much as possible. Big marked pitch with its own water tap and EHU. Good recycling and toilet disposal point. Mark gave us excellent local travel tips to Vault beach (worth the extra walk from Portmellon), Dodman Point, Caerhays Castle and more. The weather was super as well! Perfect certified site!

A great place to get away from it all.

A really excellent site. Well maintained. Places to sit and enjoy your surroundings. Wildlife pond to sit beside. Woodland walk. Good space and privacy. Lanes are narrow to get there. Good walking from the site to Port Mellon and Mevagissey with some steep paths. Excellent hosts. Recycling, rubbish disposal and toilet emptying spotless. Electric and water at each pitch. Guinea fowl and pheasants to keep you entertained.

Wet and Windy Cornwall

The site is a lovely place to stay. The inclusion of electric and water on each pitch is a great bonus. The site itself has its own woodland, a pond and areas with picnic benches that allow you to sit out and enjoy the whole site. A very large open space, each pitch is private with trees planted to allow natural wind breaks. It’s close for local visits such as the Lost Gardens of Heligan, The Eden Project and Mevagissey. We were met by Mark and his lovely dogs and had a great chat. I can highly recommend this site for anyone we will return later in the year as the weather was not kind and unfortunately left some unfinished sites to see.

Peaceful, well kept site in countryside.

We have just returned from a great few days with our motor home. Jo and Mark have worked really hard to establish a really beautiful site. The pitches are separated by willow and are very spacious. There is a wooded area, a pond and a seating around a large field. Horses and guinea fowl too. Excellent toilet emptying facility with soap and running water. Electric and water at each pitch. Rubbish emptied daily. The site is in land with good walks on your doorstep.....30 minutes to Mevagissey, Port Mellon with some hills on quiet lanes. Then on to coast path to Gorran Haven and on. A good map is advisable. [We are good walkers] The lanes to the site are narrow. We only have a small van with nothing to tow so fine for us. Jo and Mark were a great couple to meet. Look forward to another stay.

Beautiful tranquil site

A really beautiful, clean and quiet site. Plenty of space in between pitches and not overlooking anyone. Perfect if you want to be away from it all and enjoy peace and quiet. Jo and Mark were very welcoming and more than happy to help and offer information if needed. Would definitely recommend and without a doubt we will be returning. Thank you both for a lovely stay.

Kerthua Caravan Park

What a truly wonderful site with wide, clean and well laid out individual sites and a small lake at the end with a table and a chair which was wonderful to drink in the relaxing and tranquil atmosphere. Difficult to get there but well worth the effort. Owners very friendly and ideal for walking. Dogs absolutely loved it, and so did we! Strongly recommended from us.

Lovely Site

Stayed here in June after a difficult search to find it. The lanes to it are very narrow with few passing places and poor signage. Saying that it was worth the effort as the site is lovely with a level ground and separated pitches. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Horses and ponies are in the large fenced off field. Mevagissey is a walk about half an hour away from the site. Will definitely stay here again if we come to Cornwall.
