This site is set in a fantastic location. It’s very very quiet with the only noise coming from the birds and farm livestock. We were given a very warm welcome on arrival. A huge thank you to David who made time to show us around the farm. We’ve already booked another weekend and can’t wait to return.
Fabulous, peaceful site.
We enjoyed a long wkend here. A lovely scenic spot on a working farm. Only noise comes from the cows, sheep and occasional passing tractor. Facilities are basic but all you need- electricity, elsan emptying, water and a toilet. All spotlessly clean. A short road walk to reach footpaths then fabulous walking country. No pubs in walking distance but good cafe at Airton, just a mile away. A real get away from it all site.

Lovely CL
Have recently spent 4 nights on this CL. It is a lovely site surounded by superb rolling countryside. We were given a warm welcome, and were shown/told where everything was. We took the last available pitch, as the site was fully booked at that time, but we were very happy with it. All of the pitches are well spaced, and despite the field being on a slope the pitches are flat, reasonably level, and with a hard surface. There is plently of good walking in the vicinity, but access to the nearest public footpaths does involve walking either left or right along the lane which runs past the farm. This was not a problem for us because the road was not at all busy. However, you still need to be vigilant. All in all we enjoyed our few days a Hurries Farm very much :-)
Fantastic cl
Just visited this glorious site for the weekend. You couldn't wish for a more beautiful place. Totally relaxing and just what we wanted. Very friendly owners but not intrusive. It is a working farm so expect dogs barking but we didn't mind as ours joined in! Thank you and we will be back. What a gem.
Fantastic Week at Hurries Farm!
We have just returned from a lovely week's holiday at Hurries Farm! It was our first time on a CL site and we really loved how quiet and peaceful it was. We were greeted by the owner David on arrival who showed us where the toilet and fresh water was. As well as the usual cleaning, extra cleaning equipment and hand sanitizer had been left out if we wanted to use it, which I thought was great. We had a choice of pitches available and used leveling blocks when setting up our caravan. We also used both normal pegs and hard standing pegs.
The site is really well located to visit so many lovely places. The owner David gave us lots of advice and tips for places to visit too. He also really took our children under his wing and gave us lots of farm tours and let our children help with feeding the animals. It was the perfect Yorkshire Dales experience for them.
We all loved this site and would definitely like to return in the future. We would highly recommend if you are visiting the area.
What a lovely site.
Excellent site, made very welcome by David & Wendy, lots of places of interest nearby to visit, nothing too much trouble, very enjoyable & we will definitely be back.
One of our favourites
We've just come home from our 3rd visit to Hurries Farm over the last few years. We really enjoy staying there and it has a special place in our hearts. It's a working farm, so yes, there are chickens roaming around and there are sheep and rhea's in the next field. The sheep dogs are lovely and very well behaved and follow David's instructions and whistles. It's all part of the charm of the place! Wendy and David are both lovely.
The site itself has always been well presented when we've been there, there's a EHU on each pitch, which are also hard standing, with the grass being a reasonable length. There's even a picnic table in the middle, if you wanted to use it. It is on a slight slope, but nothing too drastic.
We will definitely be returning again in the future - we might even get good weather sometime!
A little piece of yorkshire heaven
What can i say about Hurries Farm, from the moment you arrive David & Wendy make you feel most welcome and as its a working farm so do the animals. As a frequent visitor to the site we love coming and relaxing here - we love listening and watching the farm animals and have been invited personally by david to have a look around his farm. Amenities are great and easy to access and well posted. We love getting fresh eggs from the hens each time we come and the angus beef tastes amazing. - Thank you David and Wendy for sharing your little piece of yorkshire with us and being excellent hosts. Simon & James. X
A good time was had by all
We met several of our caravan friends at this site and overall we all thought it was excellent.
All the pitches had hard standing and any slight slopes were easily compensated by the addition of a few chocks. The site itself was very quiet and peaceful with a river running along the bottom edge. Despite being a working farm with live stock the farm was very clean and tidy and access through it to the CL site was very easy. Access to the farm itself is straightforward and best achieved by following the instructions in the Caravan Club book.
The farmer, David, was very friendly and helpful and took several of us out into his fields to watch his dogs round up the sheep for feeding.
The area around the site is outstanding with plenty to do and see. Skipton on a market day is well worth a visit
Overall we all enjoyed our week and would definitely book-in again should we revisit the area.
Thanks, David, for making our stay so memorable.
A charming spot away from the major dales crowds
For us this was a positive experience from the beginning. We needed a space at short notice and David was my fourth telephone call - the previous three already being fully booked on the Saturday night. We arrived to a hospitable welcome. It's lambing time, and David was around, but I had already asked him if there were any constraints about where to go and knew a couple of the pitches were reserved. The grass was well mowed and everything worked as it should. Some reviewers have commented on the WC disposal - for me it worked fine without any back splashes or overflowing. I've emptied on much 'prettier' ones, which haven't worked nearly so easily. A fellow camper pointed out that, for rinsing the WC, using the tap with the hose in the barn is much easier than using the labelled tap in the same barn, and I was grateful for that advice. We had no trouble with the power. David reminded us it was only 10 amps, so we had to control how we used it - but we managed our 7 days using the kettle, microwave and heater (it was around zero most nights) without tripping the breaker. There were never more than 5 units during our stay.
We are not dog people and the site was full of them, but we had no trouble. And during our time we saw no evidence of poor dog interactions, nor were we bothered by excessive barking.
And we found the location to be excellent for exploring the southern dales. Malham, Settle and Horton are all close. The walking is superb, although there were times when we were glad of tha OS explorer map and the trusty compass - the major paths are well signed, but away from the crowds less so.
Finally, Wendy helped us choose some of their Angus beef for the freezer. We have used our first piece and the taste and tenderness were outstanding.
We have no hesitation in recommending this site to others.
