We've enjoyed our stay

With sadness, we're all set to leave tomorrow after spending seven days and nights at this lovely site. The site itself is immaculately kept.  The abundance of information is excellent.  The owners are lovely people, can't do enough for you.  They took our grandchildren to feed the fish in their lake and then took them along to feed the chickens. The boys came back with warm, newly laid eggs for breakfast. There is a children's play area in the wood at the back of the site along with lovely walks through the wood and the farm across the road.  A hidden gem within the woods are the wild orchids - a sight to be seen. A bakery van comes every lunchtime during the week and has hot and cold food to buy. We would definitely come back.  Keep up the good work Vergette family.  Thank you.

Immaculate site, a gem.

Just had a five day break at this immaculate site.  A credit to the owner, everything is well laid out, very good information hut with excellent instructions for a walk around the farm.  The wooded dog walk is a paradise for four legged friends. The site is fairly close to a main road and opposite a working farm so there is some noise but certainly not obtrusive.  Also there is the occasional helicopter heading back and for from the nearby airport, again not enough to cause a problem and only in the day time. Should we return to this area we would not hesitate in booking this site again, one of the best Cl's we have visited in over 30 years of caravanning

All that we could want!

What a lovely site. We stayed here as a group of 3 vans in March for 3/4 nightt a lovely site. Dealing with Claire over the phone was easy and our arrival and setting up all went smoothly. There is a small information cabin which has local info, books and dvd's to loan and an added bonus is free wifi. Fenced off and alongside the site, the wildlife pond is nice to walk around and I'm sure in the summer, it is lovely to sit around and enjoy. The dogs were welcome- we kept them tethered and on leads and the walk through the woods was a pleasure for us and the dogs.  Overall the site is fab and we look forward to returning very soon :-)

A Great CL

An excellent well laid out site, one of the best we have been on, large level pitches and set in pleasant surroundings. The owners are very helpful and have gone to a lot of trouble to make your stay enjoyable. The information hut was well stocked with lots of ideas of things to do and the free WiFi is a bonus. we shall certainly be returning!

August Bank Holiday 2014

On arrival we were greeted by Sally , she was very informative on local interests. This site has everything you could ask for, It is well kept, clean, for walkers & dog owners its perfect as there are numerous walks , through the woodland, farm walks.  It is close to Cleethorpes , Grimsby & immingham should you want the coastline.  Supermarket is approx 4 miles away. The information sheet is well informed , the owners have spent time putting postcodes on for supermarkets, doctors etc . We could not fault this site ,  Claire was very quick in replying to my emails and enquiries.  All round 5* site. Wifi was a bonus.

best yet

First time to this cl site, and it wont be the last, the best so far after over 20 years caravaning. Booked week before we wanted to go for long weekend. Claire was very warm and friendly on the telephone. we arrived Thursday morning, and was greeted by Sally, who was very friendly and immediately gave us information, and said we could choose were we put our caravan, which there were 5 hardstandings. Very spacious,  well mowed lawn around. There is a brilliant information kiosk with lots of leaflets,  information, maps DVDs to borrow. Free wifi which is always handy. There is a seperate car park for if you have visitors, where the waste water, chemical waste and recycling area is. All kept very clean and tidy. There is well stocked pond with huge koy carp! There is a dog walk through the wooded area, also play area, plus other farm walks. The owners Claire and Vince, are very friendly,  not in your face like some can be, but ready to chat if you want, they are very welcoming, and good to exchange views on other cls which you may have been too, as they too are caravaners. We will be going back.

Easter break at Hunger Hill.

We arrived at midday on good Friday, the owner was there and gave us lots of good information. The site is very well laid out with waste/water and recycling in a well managed area. The information hut was excellent and very informative.Had a great day out at raf Scampton on Saturday (well worth booking) and spent Easter sunday in Cleethorpes and out for a afternoon meal. Some people think the 10 amp electrics are not good enough,we had no problem at all ,sitting out in the sun by the pond is very relaxing and we will certainly be visiting again,Many thanks see you soon.CarlandJan

Lovely walks around the site

We booked for a midweek break during March and were made really welcome on arrival. The pitches are spacious and the site is clean and well laid out. The information shed is the best we have experienced with everything you could ever want provided. We loved the mowed walks around the farm which made dog walking a pleasure. The only dog friendly pub in the area is the Swallow at Swallow, they also serve good food. Pay a visit to Caister and do the historical walk (pick up the leaflet from the information shed). It is a good half day out. Downsides of the site - The hard standings are really hard with rubble under the gravel topping so you need extra strong awning pegs. The Wi-Fi is hit and miss for iPhone and Macbook. We had to go into the information shed sometimes (where the router is) to get a signal. Having said that we were gratefull for the provision of free Wi-Fi on site. Overall an enjoyable stay. We gave the 2 stars for surroundings as the recycling site nearby does put a blot on the landscape. The site itself is lovely.

Excellent all year CL

Booked this new to us CL as a weekend away as very local to us (only 40 minute drive).   Had emailed my booking and got a speedy reply confirming my booking and letting me know to pick any pitch on arrival.   The owner also confirmed that we could stay later on Sunday if we needed which was lovely as we were so close to home.   On arrival in the dark on Friday night we found the site and pitched up.   We found the excellent water/waste and bin area easily as it was well lit and as such situated away from the main area.   This was great as it meant you didn't need a torch to find things!   There is also a visitors car park in this area which is nice. The site itself is lovely, clearly set out by people who love caravanning and know what is expected.   It has 5 hardstandings 6m square to choose from, all level and gravelled(good rock pegs required).   All can fit caravan, awning and car on with plenty of room.    Ample grassy areas surrounding the pitches and benches provided for seating in good weather.    The electricity as has been said is 10amp but this isn't a problem to careful caravanners, - we certainly had no problems at all, nor did the others on the site at the time.     A very quiet site with dog walks, nature walks and a large pond adds to the attraction of the site, as does the very well stocked information shed which includes dvds, books and maps etc which you can borrow during your stay.    There are lots of leaflets of places to visit in the shed - we visited both Grimsby and Louth during our stay, the latter being a lovely bustling market town.   There is a cycle route nearby into Grimsby and Cleethorpes which is only a few miles away.   The owners were lovely, non-intrusive but happy to chat if needed.   We compared notes on other CL's in our area as the owners are also vanners.   We had a lovely stay and would recommend this site.   Hopefully we will get on when we next want to stay.
