One of the Very Best!

Every so often you come across a truly wonderful CL, and for us, this is definitely one of those "oh, how lovely" locations. We only got to stay one night on this tour, but this is the kind of place to spend a much longer holiday, and use as a base to explore the wonderful scenery, and inspiring places to visit. The CL itself is set back from a B road, behind the farm, and the pitches are dotted around a huge old orchard. There is a slight slope, but hardstanding and grass pitches are terraced at various well spaced places, giving everyone lots of room and privacy. A hard road leads up most of the orchard, then a short hop to a grass or HS pitch. The views are spectacular, with a stile and cart track leading straight from the site up into the Mortimer Forest and miles of glorious walking. An absolute haven for visitors with dogs! The whole place is wonderfully tidy, water, waste and recycling off in a corner of the orchard. We were made very welcome, had all we needed explained to us, then left to pitch up amongst the fruit trees and wonderful birds!  Ludlow is an easy walk, although footpath is narrow, and there are lots of places to visit close by, such as Stokesey Castle, Acton Scott Farm, and of course the foodie town of Ludlow with its magnificent Castle and Church. Definitely a CL we will return to, again and again. Thank you, Mr and Mrs Davies and family.
