Ease of arrival/welcome

Lovely site shame about the host

On arrival we were shown to our pitch by the daughter of the site owners. Whilst I was setting up the van my wife went to pay for our stay and enquired if it would be OK for her brother and sister in-law to come and visit. She clearly explained that they were coming for a walk and then we were all going for a meal. The daughter showed where they could park and that she would leave a note for her parents. information. Two days later they arrived and my wife showed them where they should park, as she was doing so the owner the site (female) came out and in a brusque manner challenged them demanding to know who they were and where they were going. My wife informed her that her daughter had left a note for her information. All three were surprised at the manner in which they were challenged. We went for a meal in the brother's car, again when we returned we could see the female owner stood at the door watching us park up and as we said our farewells. This did make us feel uncomfortable. Additionally on the penultimate day we observed a sixth caravan arrive early and park up on a pitch, when we booked we couldn't have all the dates we wanted because they were fully booked up, but it appears that they don't apply the CL rules for others.

I have just read Robert Jone's review.   Firstly I apologise to him for accidentally upsetting him.   We have three kitchen area windows overlooking the back yard.   I happened to walk into the kitchen from the hallway and see a car parked in full view with one two people beside it.   i continued to the end of the kitchen fully expecting to meet someone at the backdoor, when I reached it.   But as there was no one there I continued outside in order to enquire if any help was needed.

Until informed by the visitors I had COMPLETELY FORGOTTEN, that my daughter had mentioned that the Jones were being collected by relatives and she had agreed they could park in the back yard.   Apparently my daughter had promised to leave a note for me but we met before she had a chance to write it.  so told me verbally.  I had no idea which day this event was due and by the time I saw the Jones's relatives car I had completely forgotten about it, and as often people wanting to look at the caravan site park in the spot where they were they  appeared to me to be strangers in need of help.

It was unfortunate that I had not seen the car arrive or the Jones walking out of the caravan site towards it.

UNFORTUNATELY I also happened to be in a position to experience a DEJA Vu moment on the return of the Jones family group, and saw them in exactly the same position on their return in the afternoon.   I immediately recognised them and dismissed them as not requiring any assistance.   I was so astounded that they were in exactly the same position with two people outside the car, and again I had not seen them arrive, that I watched for a few moments to see them move.

I suggest that Mr and Mrs Jones visit again so that we can meet and discover that neither is as odd as this misunderstand seems to suggest
