rather expensive for a basic site

We stayed on this site for a few days, the lady was there when we arrived and showed us where things where and left it to us to decide where to hook up. We never saw them again. The site is large with overgrown grass in the middle but cut and collected grass leading to the various places to pitch. Beware the field is very slopping and although wooden blocks are provided it is still difficult to get a caravan that is straight.and level on some pitches Only some of the pitches have water connected to them. We felt for what was provided it was expensive, we have been on other sites with better facilities for less money. Ludlow is not far away and has a Tesco supermarket, and other local shops as well as cafes and restaurants we enjoyed a midday meal at The Olive Branch.

Lovely site shame about the host

On arrival we were shown to our pitch by the daughter of the site owners. Whilst I was setting up the van my wife went to pay for our stay and enquired if it would be OK for her brother and sister in-law to come and visit. She clearly explained that they were coming for a walk and then we were all going for a meal. The daughter showed where they could park and that she would leave a note for her parents. information. Two days later they arrived and my wife showed them where they should park, as she was doing so the owner the site (female) came out and in a brusque manner challenged them demanding to know who they were and where they were going. My wife informed her that her daughter had left a note for her information. All three were surprised at the manner in which they were challenged. We went for a meal in the brother's car, again when we returned we could see the female owner stood at the door watching us park up and as we said our farewells. This did make us feel uncomfortable. Additionally on the penultimate day we observed a sixth caravan arrive early and park up on a pitch, when we booked we couldn't have all the dates we wanted because they were fully booked up, but it appears that they don't apply the CL rules for others.

Relaxed & peaceful site

Nice lady showed us site & vacant spots. Fairly level pitch well away from other vans, plenty of space around us. 20 min walk into Ludlow, be aware of uphill walk into town tho! We visited Hereford & Shrewsbury while we were there. Shrewsbury is a lovely town & Hereford has the most beautiful cathedral. Would definitely recommend this site!

A great two night stay at Hucks Barn

Stayed here for two nights in April 18, following arrival i was escorted around the site to agree the best pich and route in as the grass was wet and the ground a little soft. Got onto the slightly sloping pitch without drama and was set up within ten minutes. Each pitch has EHU and a drinking water tap next to it, the chemical waste ws about 40m away and was like the ones in main sites. Adjacent to this was the extensive array of rubbish recycling boxes with very clear instructions as to what goes where. There were no issues whilst on the site and leaving on the Sunday on wet grass in the MoHo was without drama as the slight downhill slope helped maintain traction. The walk into Ludlow from this CL is noticeably shorter than from the Morris site we previously stayed at which made the walk into town much quicker and enjoyable. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would be happy to recommend the CL which i imagine will be even better during the summer months.

Great location for visiting Ludlow

Just arrived back from a short stay at Hucks Barn Farm. We wanted to visit Ludlow. The sites main advantage is its location so close to the town. The site is also excellent for some great walking in the surrounding hills, just over a stile at the back of the property and you are on some great routes. Our stay, in February can never be as glowing as some of the others, from the pictures and comments the site must be a beautiful environment during the summer months. However in February it is very muddy. Make sure you wait for help and advise from the owners before pitching up. It is quite an art to avoid getting your motorhome well and truly stuck. We were able to pull off the pitch with a struggle and a downhill slope! Good services although the water pressure is very low. TV signal is ok. Winced at the price which is more expensive than several Club sites especially as it is winter. Plenty of time also needed to clean our vehicle after all the off- road driving! Still it must be a lovely site in dry summer conditions and so please enjoy the site if you choose to visit.

Visit to Ludlow

We spent 3 peaceful nights here and enjoyed exploring this attractive town on foot. We also had a great day walking in Mortimer Forest and had the bonus of observing 3 badgers emerging from their sett on our last evening, 5 minutes from the site.

Perfect Peace

We were initially a little concerned as to how we would manage the lack of facilities, however this proved not to be a problem. We booked in at a quiet time, and were given a choice of pitches. Water and electric hook up enabled us to use our own facilities with ease. This is a lovely peaceful site in beautiful countryside and with amazing views. The orchard is managed carefully, with areas set aside and left for wildlife. Much of the site is on a hillside, so you will need levelling kit. Mr Davies was a charming host, and was very helpful with recommendations for local restaurants. It took around 20 minutes to walk into town, there is a path through woodland which leads to the main paved road. Be aware though that it is uphill some of the way back. Ludlow is a beautiful and unspoiled town with excellent shopping opportunities, and there are plenty of interesting places to see in the surrounding area. We loved the site and will hopefully be able to return there again soon. Would recommend without hesitation. We enjoyed the peace and quiet, and the lovely views.

Lovely site

We have just spent a weekend at this lovely site,it was so peaceful and relaxing, there was a footpath direct from the site to ludlow town.We found the site owners extremely helpful and friendly. The site was beautifully laid out with water and electric at all pitches, and the grass was cut nice and short but also areas left long which is great for wildlife.£16 a night is a small price to pay for the peace and quiet, will defintley be booking again.

Good site, good location...it's a Yes from us!!

We stayed on this site at end April/beginning May at the start of a month away from home. We were delighted with the ease of access, pretty orchard setting (the blossom was stunning) and the peaceful and tranquil location. When we arrived with our twin axle Caravan there were only 2 pitches available which were both sloping, Mr Davies lent us some additional blocks but the next day we decided to move to another pitch which had been vacated and was level. This proved to be a good move and we enjoyed 5 great days. For our 4 legged friends there are some fabulous walks direct from the site, especially from the top corner which leads to public footpaths across farm land and up to Forestry Commission woods/walks. It is a shame that all of the pitches are not level, it would be quite simple to achieve and would make a Hugh difference to this fantastic little site. We would certainly consider staying again.
