We stayed for 4 nights on this beautiful site.I will list all the positive points first.
The CL is the nicest site we have ever stayed on and we have been caravanning for many years. The access roads to the site are good, main A road and a wide B road so no narrow lanes to negotiate.
The site is huge set in a beautiful orchard and is very quiet. There is a footpath directly from the site where you can walk in to Ludlow (20 minutes)or in to the lovely forest. The site is well maintained with good recycling and well cut grass
Unfortunately now the negative. The owner is perhaps the rudest woman I have ever met. When we booked well in advance we were told we had to pay in full in advance. We have never not turned up on a site and on the occasions we have had to cancel there have been very good reasons (illness or storms which would make towing unsafe)
We were told the money would be non refundable if we cancelled.
We were told when we arrived to stop when we got to the second cattle grid which we did do.When the owner came out of the house she shouted at us like we were a couple of children for stopping on the grid!Put decent signs up then to explain
My husband then drove to the site with the owner following. He was then told to get out of the car as “I don’t like talking to men through car windows”!
We couldn’t choose our pitch we were told where to park. She then directed us to the turning to our pitch but it wasn’t clear where to go.We were spoken to rudely yet again “I suppose I will have to show you “
Fortunately we didn’t see her again.Lovely first class site but due to the owners attitude we won’t visit again. Our money is just as good elsewhere
Ideal stop for us
Beautiful surroundings, tranquil, well laid out, loads and loads of space to enjoy around the pitch and not too close to our neighbours, very reasonable price and very friendly welcome pointing out where everything was, where to pitch, had originally been told we could have a hardstanding as we had a motorhome but as the weather was so good and the ground so dry, the owner suggested we might like a grass pitch with more space around it for our dog to enjoy -which she did. Didn't need the levelling ramps on the grass but think we would have on the hardstanding
Easy walk into the wonderful town of Ludlow 20 - 25 mins, part the old stage coach route (grass footpath) part B road with pavements.
Is definitely on our list to visit again
Brilliant
Had 5 nights here brilliant site great owners peaceful and load’s of walking we will definitely return.
Thank you
Perfect
Just had a wonderful 2 week stay here and will definitely come back. The site is sloping but sheltered from the prevailing winds which was a sanctuary in the storms. The lady owner is rightly proud of her site and takes an interest in pitching and giving a good brief of walks, recycling /toilet point and how to keep the orchard beautiful. There are no wc/showers, as we expect from a CL. Lovely walks from the back of the site to the forest and Ludlow (CSONS cafe is a must). Site is so big that we hardly noticed the other campers (it did help that no one felt the need to have outside lights on all night). So nice to have a well run site, thanks.
Beautiful site
We have just returned from a short stay in this beautiful site. It is a large orchard with pitches dotted around the edge providing peaceful space. The ground is really well maintained with short grass or hard standing. We will definitely visit again.

A Marmite site
If you have a caravan and you are directed to one of the grass pitches, then the site is good. You have an individual mown glade most of which, if not all, are fully serviced.
However if you have a motorhome you are directed to 1 of 3 hard standing pitches that are set in a row. First point - we weren't asked for a deposit when booking but the full amount. Secondly there are only 2 water taps between the 3 pitches so these aren't fully serviced. Finally the 3 pitches are seriously on a slope. We couldn't level our motorhome with large levellers and it was so bad that our shower couldn't maintain an even water temperature and the water overflowed the shower tray. Our 2 neighbours both had automatic levelling systems and both had 2 wheels completely off the ground. Two berth motorhomes could be OK.
Unpleasant greeting
Owner was rude on arrival. We made an error of going onto the site and she spoke to us rather rudely.
We had reduced our stay as my nephew was emigrating to Australia. We had given plenty of notice which she herself confirmed. She felt it was acceptable to tell me my nephew was not a close member of my family and she had not managed to relet one out of the 4 nights. Not knowing us, it was rude to comment on who is and who is not a close member of our family. Having lost 3 members of my family within 5 years, yes my nephew is a close family member!!!!
On paying the balance she announced she was keeping the change and she could have charged us for the night not rebooked. It was only a £1 but again her manner was extremely rude.
Thankfully it’s not a welcome we’ve ever experienced before. Will not return.

The apple of our eye !
Just back from a 4 night stay and I must say this is one of the best CL sites we have been too in just 9 months on the road!
A beautiful layout of several pitches with 4 of them being hard standing with water and EHU to each. There are some grass pitches as well. Every spot is well spaced out with mowed grass areas providing the routes between each.
Unmowed areas that have been allowed to grow wild give a great feeling of some of the spots being completely private. There are various fruit trees scattered around although wrong time of year for picking :-)
Mrs Davies has everything well organised and will ask you to stop at the entrance and walk with her to your allocated spot whilst she explains everything you need.
Great spot for turning left at the gate at the top of the site so that you can go walking into the forest. Turn right at the gate and its a casual 25min stroll into Ludlow with all its great facilities on tap.
Really great site to relax and use as a base for discovering Ludlow and the surrounding scenery and its now a site that is on our 'goto' list for the future!

Superb CL for tranquility and great walks
Stayed here for 2 nights from a ‘Motorhome happiness’ recommendation, what a super CL site and such a find. Welcoming owners, well spaced out pitches in a lovely orchard and second to none recycling. Walking access to Ludlow and forest walks on the doorstep (Mortimer way, Mary Knoll and Shropshire way). The history of Ludlow is well worth looking into, a very significant town throughout the ages. Great meal at the Charlton Arms on the way into Ludlow from site 15 minute walk, great food and dogs welcome.
Hoilday at huck barn farm
Hi this is my first review of a site plus after reading other reviews made me decide on huck barn farm I realise that sometimes a place gets a not so go good report but the good ones mostly out way them. So on to the site which was lovely, nice walk into Ludlow, but now the not so nice bit after booking by telephone plus reading the rules and description of site which clearly state CHOICE of your pitch we arrived and drove onto the site so we did block any entrances, I got out of my vehicle to have a look which pitch was free and chose 1 but as I returned to my car I noticed a very high rated lady coming up behind, I aproched her to not a very friendly reception at all . She said all you men are a like and just drive on the site and think you can pitch where you like ,so there is no choice I thought which they should amend .I replied 2 the lady is it possible 2 have the top pitch, with a reluctant answer she said she had kept that for someone who where coming for the week , I replied and said we also was here for nearly the whole week 2 , she finally said OK then asked for money to be paid that day or in morning . I thought what a great start to our first full hoilday away as my wife who works for the NHS has been through.
