What a gem of a site

We have just returned from an impromptu 2 night stay at Holly Heights. The access drive is perhaps a little tight but no problem if taken steadily, the next problem was where to pitch, each pitch is so big and with such lovely views it's difficult to make a decision. Karen the owner had said find an empty pitch and pitch facing whichever direction you like, to be honest it's 2 -3 times the size of an average CL, we pitched in the normal manor parked to the left and with an awning up there was still room both sides for another unit between us and our neighbours !!! The grass is nicely kept and the site surrounded by wild flower meadows which you look over to rolling Suffolk countryside, the facilities are basic but completely adequate and kept clean and very tidy. Jane and Richard are very friendly but leave you to enjoy the peace and quiet. Bungay is 10 mins away and Southwold 25, there are numerous local walks and one of the Sustrans cycle routes goes past the 'door'. This site is very close to home but none the less felt like a proper break away, we will be back many times I think.

A gem of a site.

Karen & Richard have worked wonders at their heaven sent gem of a site! We have just spent 5 exceptional nights on their site and enjoyed every singe second of our stop. We have 3 spaniels and whereas there are next to no public footpaths anywhere close to the site the narrow and generally almost un-trafficed roads proved more than adequate with the right, first right, first right, first right road square proving to take almost an hour that both we and our four legged friends enjoyed enormously. There is so much to see and do in the area with the local town of Bungay proving to be well worth a stroll and then there is the FREE to enter aircraft museum at Flixton proving to be so capticating that I will allocate 2 full and slow days to read all the fascinating information. My only slight criticism of the site is that there aren't enough dustbins when the site is nearly full.

Lovely Peaceful Site

We have just returned from our 10 night stay at this tranquil CL.We arrived on site and received a warm welcome from Karen and Richard and later Monty their puppy :). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, we saw lots of wildlife on site and enjoyed walking and cycling along the country roads. The site facilities have been well thought out and the pitches are of a very good size. Thank you for making us feel very welcome and we wish you lots of luck with your new venture. We will definitely return. :)

Superb new site

We are at the end of our stay in our motorhome on this lovely new site. Originally we booked for 10 nights but have stayed 20 and have enjoyed every moment. Karen and Richard have been excellent hosts, welcoming and friendly. The site is open and sunny with some shelter from hedging along the perimeter. The pitches are well spaced and the on site mown grass dog walk is great. The views are a pleasure to wake up to and there is a lot of wildlife in the area. The lanes are quiet and the walking for us and the dogs is very good. We particularly enjoyed the Angles Way and Ilkeshall St Andrews commons. There are buses just over a mile away to surrounding towns, the coast and Norwich. Bungay is half a mile further on and there is a supermarket near the bus stops. There is also a traditional tea room a mile away at Mettingham. We both wish Karen and Richard every success with their new venture. They have worked hard to make this one of the best CL's we have stayed on and we definitely recommend it. We will be back again next year.

Another Great Find

We have just returned from a 2 week stay on this gem of a site. Karen and Richard made us feel very welcome, more like old friends than paying guests. The lovely flat, open and grassy field means that setting-up is easy and you have everything that you need. The pitches are well-spaced and the peace and tranquility make for a relaxing stay. The site is also well placed for visiting the Suffolk coast and The Norfolk Broads.

Peacefull location

Lovely site, overlooks beautiful Suffolk countryside. Great location with nice walks. Owners very friendly; arrived to a coffe and a chat. The site is well serviced with good electrics, water etc. The entrance is a bit tight; so be carefull if you have a long caravan or vehicle. Would definitely revisit

Lovely!

Just spent one night here, what a beautiful location, peace and quiet with lovely views. Karen and Richard made us really welcome and have put a lot of thought into the layout. We would have stayed longer had it not been for the heatwave,we don't like it too hot, neither does our little dog! We will definitely visit again when it is a little cooler. Thank you Karen and Richard for your hospitality.

Just the ticket!

Just spent the Bank Holiday weekend at Holly Heights. This is a new CL beautifully laid out in a fabulous location. Great for walking, cycling or using as a base to explore the 'Gateway to the Broads'. Karen and Richard will welcome you and are very accommodating,we did not have to ask if we could stay on a bit longer yesterday, we were offered! Beccles is a delight, it has a Lido (well worth a visit) access to the Broads if you have anything that floats with you, free parking with plentiful places to stop, picnic and watch the world go by. There is a whole host of other locations with 30 minutes drive as well. Put it in your favourites, just don't park on our pitch next time we visit!! :-)

What a treat!

Just returned from 9 days at this gem of a site which is new and not in the handbook yet although it was in the magazine before Christmas. It's a real shame it lacks that exposure yet because it needs using and the friendly, helpful and enthusiastic owners should be applauded and encouraged. We are losing CLs rapidly so a new one - especially one as picturesque, spacious and well cared for as this - needs customers. Your stay will be well rewarded. This tiny village just outside Bungay is within easy reach of the hotspots of Southwold, Aldeburgh, Minsmere, Lowestoft and Yarmouth as well as Norwich and the Broads and is a haven of tranquility. There's plenty of room to spread out and plans are afoot to make one area hard standing. Ideal for cycling and walking with plenty of footpaths and signed, safe cycling routes to nearby towns such as Harleston, Beccles, Halesworth and Bungay itself. Thanks for a very enjoyable and relaxing break - we will be back again and again.
