A great CL. Very good access and a hard standing pitch. Fantastic views. The farm didn’t bother us, in fact we enjoyed seeing the animals. Very clean and tidy with a toilet aswell. A lovely friendly family. We hope to come back next year.
Fantastic stay once again

site next to main farmyard
The position of the site is too close to all the extremely noisy farm activities. We were part of the farm yard, 50 metres from one of the huge metal cow sheds housing over 2,000 heffers permanently inside. We were on the site for 6 nights in September and EVERY morning at about 6ish the banging clattering tractor started scraping the concrete in the cow shed for cleaning and it just went on and on until they stopped for breakfast at 9am. To add to this a large tractor was running all day until 7pm with a log splitting device. The tractor was only 50 metres away from our caravan.Much of the huge pieces of tree trunk had to be split by using a hammer and steel wedges which was very noisy and so clos to our caravan. This log splitting was continuous for 5 days. There was only 1 hard standing but the owner insisted that there was a second hard standing right next to the toilet disposal !!!!!!! The second hard standing would have stopped motorhomes emptying their waste and our double axil caravan being in the way, partly restricting entry and exits. We have always stayed on CL working farm sites and have never had any issues because others have their paying guests away from the farmyard. We were only seperated by a fence. The view wasnt brilliant as expected as half was blocked by high farm hangers. Our reason for our stay was to relax due to health issues but it was a total disaster.
Sanctuary
Great CL. Easy to find and access CL, is behind the farm but the views are great. Yes it’s a working farm but not noisy. The cows do moo, but you can ignore them. (Ask for fresh milk if you dare). They’ll sell you fresh eggs too. Unfortunately the dog walk is through the farm yard be careful but no problem. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The site does slope slightly so blocks are necessary. Plenty of room. Great walks from site. 2 great pubs within walking distance doggy friendly. The Nelson really does excel with taste and GF food. Loads to do and see in the area. You wouldn’t believe you were only a couple of miles from Harrogate.
What a lovely site
What a beautiful site, we stayed here for over a week. Pitches are lovely and spacious and have a great view. We received a lovely welcome from Georgina and her family. Great base for visiting Harewood house and Harrogate is a must. We will definitely book again when we are in the area.

Fantastic stay
Well what can we say about this site we are so lucky to have found it and so enjoy our stays on this gem of a site. The pitches are spacious with lovely views towards Ripley, Whilst on site we enjoyed the circular walk down to Killinghall. The facilities provided are clean.
In addition the Beecroft family were so very welcoming and are at hand to answer any queries should they arise.
If we were to score this site out of 10 without a shade of a doubt it would be a 10 and we can’t wait to return to have another lovely stay at this site. Thank you especially to Georgina for all the kindness she showed to us during our stay.

Disappointing
We had high expectations of this site and were disappointed for several reasons.
Didn't find the owner particularly friendly.
Not as picturesque as the pictures would have you believe.
Described as dog friendly but the lambs in the field were constantly coming into the area where you pitch which isn't helpful if you have a dog.
There was also dog poo in the field in several places. Pointed out to owner who did nothing.
Noisy farm machinery at 5.45 one morning. We knew it was a working farm so some noise is to be expected but wasn't expecting this level at this time.
Suffice it to say, we wouldn't stay again.
Lovely site
We stayed with friends over Easter. After a warm welcome we pitched on the hardstanding area as the field was wet. Electric was superb, did not blow once, and we had heating, hot water and kettle boiling at the same time. Stunning views and walks from site. The toilet, although small, was adequate for our needs and extremely clean. I loved the sheep on the hand towel. The CL is situated on a working livestock farm, therefore expect to hear the cows during milking. I was given a tour including, the horses, cows in calf, sheep in lamb and newly born babies, not forgetting the milking shed. No area was ‘out of bounds’ as long as you are respectful. Would be amazing for children to experience. The whole family were so lovely and approachable. Thank you for a relaxing few days! X

Short but sweet
We had lovely welcome from Mrs B, even though she was hard at work on the farm. It was so wet that we had no choice but to park on the hard standing for our one night stay. However the view across the fields was still great. Water, bins, black waste disposal and EHU were all well looked after and easy to use.We saw newborn lambs being taken to the meadow and the milking parlour was next to the camping field. Even got given free eggs in the morning - much appreciated!
So helpful!
We stayed at this CL for a week in May. Very warm welcome from Mrs B on arrival. As we were pitching up, our jockey wheel buckled so we were left stranded away from pitch. No problem - Mr B sorted us out in quick order with his small JCB and helped us level the van up. They then took the time to order a new one on our behalf. Mr B senior even repaired the damaged one and helped us fit the wheel back to the van!! Such lovely people, really good clean, well looked after site. Everything to hand. Beautiful places to visit - Fountains Abbey and Studley Water Gardens are a must. Had a lovely week - thank you all.
