One of the best

This site is excellent for a short break or a week's holiday. A well maintained site on a working farm, we love watching the dairy cattle in the surrounding fields. Georgina and family make you feel very welcome. There's plenty to do in the area including walking and cycling. For those looking for an easy ride it's pretty flat on the cycle route to Knaresborough but there's also plenty of climbing in Nidderdale if you're looking for something tougher. Lovely walk through the fields into Hampsthwaite and beyond.

Our second stay

Just returned from our second stay at this lovely CL. Very welcoming owner, lovely views, grass regularly mown and cuttings picked up. Busy working farm but so nice to see the animals. Easy access and ideal location for visiting so many nearby places. Added bonus of toilet on site. Thank you Georgina and family. Hope to see you again.

One of the best.........

Stayed for a couple of nights last week - only wish it had been longer! Georgina was incredibly welcoming, the site was great with superb views and the bonus of being able to access bridleways and footpaths directly through the farm. Only a couple of miles from Harrogate, really easy access from the main road, and a site will definitely return to.

wonderful cl

my husband and i stayed at this cl last week.It is one of the best cls that we have stayed on,the scenery is stunning and it was so good to stay on a working farm. Georgina is so welcoming and the rest of the workers were very friendly, It is ideally placed to reach surrounding beauty spots,it is so worth a visit and we will be going again before long. Noticed this hadn't had a recent review.

As per the title, I've been using this site for some years, every July for 5 nights. Hovever, due to circumstances associated with Covid, I unfortunately won't be visiting this year. As has been mentioned, work on this working farm starts rather early, with some associated noise, but that's the only very slight down side. There are lovely views from the site, an ideal location for reaching many of North Yorkshire's attractions, not least it's closeness to Harrogate. There's village amenities about a mile away, and Aldi on the way into Harrogate, and the local Asda is handy too. There's always a friendly welcome from Georgina, and it's nice to see the family getting involved in the running of the farm. Hope to see you in 2022 once this Covid thing is finally sorted.

Excellent CL

I stayed for a night at this CL and really enjoyed it. It's excellent located for adventures in the Yorkshire Dales as it sits just on the outskirts while being close to places for supplies and the like. It even has toilet facilities which is amazing for a CL so it could be used for a relatively long (for a CL) stay. The only downside which is a function of it being a working farm so is to be expected is the working day begins early for the farm, but I wake up early so all was well. That's the only thing I'd note. Otherwise perfect. This was my first trip with the van and I'm learning the ropes - will almost certainly use this CL for further Yorkshire Dales trips.

December visit

An easily accessed site, less than 1 ml off the A 59, and about 3 mls from Harrogate, with a wide entrance and drive. There are 3 well sheltered H/S pitches, one of which we used, as well as those on the grass, plus a WC. From the site there are views over the Nidd valley as far as Brimham Rocks. From the site's entrance pavements go in both directions, to Hampsthwaite, which has 1 pub and a small shop, and Killinghall which has 2 pubs, There are lots of places of interest close by such as Ripley Castle, Brimham Rocks, Knareborough and Harrrogate it's self, as well as good spots for walking especially along the Nidd gorge. The nearest supermarket is Aldi, a couple of miles from the site on the way into Harrogate. The only downside were the noises between 5:30 and 7:00 in the morning, associated with the milking of the cows, however this would not stop us from using the site again.

Excellent site

We recently completed 3 days on this site and found it to be excellent on all counts including value for money. Friendly welcome from host Georgina. Very clean toilet. Well organised and immaculate dairy farm site with good off road footpath walk to nearby village of Hamsthwaite. Good spot for Harrogate which can be reached by bike in around 45 minutes.

A welcome stay with nice people

The setting was beautiful entry and exit was very easy. Nobody was in a rush to get you off site. Local pub about a mile and a half away food and drink was good. Plenty of towns and villages within a short drive away Toilet was clean. People were very helpful and friendly. I would recommend this CL to anybody and will be going back.
