We booked for two nights in October for a quick weekend away and picked this due to location and hardstanding. Communication from owner prior to stay was great and we received emails with everything we needed to know. The site itself is nicely laid out and we loved the idea of water/electric on each pitch plus the little touches like a couple of rotary washing lines on the site. Access to places to visit is great and we done a lot during our stay. There was some noise from the lane next to the site and the traffic noise from the A12 from around 5am on Monday morning was quite intrusive. We intended using the CL toilets and showers but once we saw them decided to use our own as they were definitely not clean…the shower on the CL side was absolutely filthy and it wasn’t from recent use it was dirt that had been allowed to accumulate over some time which was a shame seeing as the shower is chargeable too. We didn’t see the owner as he was on holiday with his family so we were told we would be met by his site manager but we didn’t actually see anyone throughout our stay. All in all it’s a good site for layout and location but I don’t think we would return here.
CL overflow site
Please be aware that if the CL site is full and you are offered an overflow area it might be best to choose an alternative CL. (I can’t comment on the actual CL it is fair to say). The alternative pitches are not big enough to park your car next to the van never mind an awning (pitch 12). Also there is no grassed area to sit out side and the hard standing is made from road plannings so smells of tarmac when hot or wet. The owner also unplugged our electric without warning in attempt to accommodate a late arrival, even threading it under our van and pulling tight. We then asked if there was a problem and the electric was reconnected and we turned our fridge turned back on. There also appeared to be people living on parts of the site and a strong smell of cannabis. All very strange and not Caravan Club standard. We’ve been members for over 20 years.
'MAY GETAWAY'
A site with easy access from the A12 situated between Lowestoft and Ipswich. It was a work in progress when we were there as a grass pitch was being made into hardstanding. Having individual taps was a bonus.
Excellent free wi fi but not sure we could get all tv channels with our aerial, but enough
Not a particularly child friendly cl site as we didn't see a designated play area. or games field
The portacabin toilets were clean and adequate, didn't use the shower or the washing machine. In the portacabin were some reading books and information about places of interest.
There is dog walk around the perimeter of the farm.
Some RSPB places to visit also the House in the Clouds at Thorpeness is local.
A few miles towards Ipswich there is Farnham Leisure which seems to be a Bailey dealership with good choice of accessories and reasonable prices.
Halesworth market is on a Wednesday but the day we went there were only 4 stalls.
An easy ride into Norfolk either by the main road or going through the villages.
Within a few miles there are the main supermarkets but Budgens is just along the A12 selling reasonably priced fuel.
All in all a well positioned site with a friendly owner and with easy access to the coast or inland towns and villages.
Couldn’t get better!
As many others have said the ease of access off the A12 is the first advantage of this site. It does have a separate field for non CMHC members but the Club field is well equipped with electric & water at each pitch. Pitches are generally hard standing with grassed areas and a gravelled driveway. Toilet & washroom unit is kept clean and tidy, plus a separate shower room (£1).
Your booking gives you your specific pitch number so when you arrive it’s just drive on and set up! There will be a welcome letter with ALL the information you might need about the site facilities, the local eateries, supermarkets, fuel stations etc.left for your arrival.
The beauty and range of coastal options in this part of Suffolk from here is another big plus.
Altogether a terrific CL that will meet all your needs when you visit this lovely county.

Jubilee Getaway
We have just returned from a 4 night stay at this lovely site. We didn't see Jaik to speak to very much, but his communication both before & during our stay was spot on and the information leaflet left in a sealed plastic container on our pitch was very comprehensive and included a lot of local information & a few basic rules/requests. It's a shame some guests didn't see fit to read or abide by them. For some reason caravanners from the small adjacent commercial site seemed to prefer using the CL site's facilities rather than their own. We generally use own own facilities, so I can't comment on what's so special about them!
We were on pitch 1, which is handstanding with plenty of space to park your car & grass for your awning. Each pitch has its own fresh water tap & grey water can be drained straight into the ditch running behind the pitches. Access to the site is straightforward - just a short drive down a country lane off the A12. Much to our surprise, we could hear hardly any road noise during the night & we slept well.
There are plenty of quiet country lanes and tracks for cycling in the area & the scenery is lovely - not dramatic (this is Suffolk!) but beautiful countryside, heathland and coastline. Lots of lovely country pubs serving local real ales & good food. We can recommend The Fox in Darsham, Eels Foot in East Bridge and Poachers Pocket in Carlton.

delightful stay
Just spent 6 nights here, this being our most recent of many others. As usual Jaik made us feel welcome and the pitch was nice. This is an ideal site for visiting places such as lowestoft, southwold, beccles and many others, we also rode our bikes in dunwich forest and along the country lanes, would certainly recommend it for this reason. There is some traffic noise from the A12 but not too intrusive. This is a site we will surely be returning to again.

Short Break in Lovely Site
We manage to book a short stay of three days in August in this lovely area. The site is easily accessed from the A12, the pitches are flat, well laid out with individual water and electric hookups. The grass was well kept and though the facilities are not luxurious, they are well kept and were clean. Jaik the owner left us a welcome note with all the information needed on out pitch and we met him and a had a chat later. He was very welcoming. Excellent site for touring the attractions of the area. Some slight road noise at busy times but not too intrusive.

Could be cleaner facilities
I booked this site because it had toilet and a shower, but on arrival was disappointed in the state of both, I did not feel they were clean enough to use. Housed in a wooden shed, compared to a private site we had just left that was much cleaner.
We didn’t notice any road noise, and found the site handy for southwold and Aldburgh , but on reflection would not return.
Good access to coast
This site is situated in a beautiful part of Suffolk with good access to Dunwich. The local lanes are perfect for cycling. The site itself was in our opinion overpriced at £23 a night. Three of the five pitches looked to have excellent hardstanding, one pitch looked adequate but the fifth pitch (ours!) was basically uneven grass/mesh which was muddy (not sure if all pitches were £23). The CDP was in need of updating. We found the traffic noise (A12 was just 270 metres away) was way too intrusive for our liking although others may not find this to be a problem.
Stay in May
Just returned from an enjoyable 6 day stay at this site with friends. Jaik the owner was as usual extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. Some road noise from adjacent A12 but not a major issue. Didn’t use communal facilities due to COVID but very welcome on a CL. Within cycling distance of Suffolk coast. Will return.
