Lovely little site and kind and pleasant owners. We only stayed one night as I was doing Rally Obedience show nearby. Toy Poodle wise, the only drawback was that we had to walk on the road to get to local walks and no pavement with fast cars. The owner told my lead holder that the locals are getting the speed limit reduced which is good. Probably OK to walk to Water Lane if I was the only dog as I am sensible, but my big brother is a fool and jumps all over the road if he can. When we got to the well named Water Lane we had to turn back as it was too wet.
We were kindly allowed to walk in the field behind the orchard and if a track were mowed around the perimeter that would be perfect.
The lead holder only used about 50pence on the metered electricity so I told her she could buy me more pigs ears when we got home.
Thanks Higher Sea House.
Great Site
What a great find this site is. Stopped over for one night en route back home as site we had booked was a let down. Warm welcome and luckily could purchase green fluid for the toilet as we didnt have any left. Site is very peaceful and hosts very welcoming and informative about local gardens and walks. Chickens were very inquisitive and Bluebell stole my Custard Cream but I didnt mind that much. We used the Electric (£1.51) which was less than I thought it would be. Definately one to revisit next time we are in the area.
Absolute Gem
What an absolute gem. We visit Ilminster at least once a year to catch up with an elderly relative. Previously we have stayed at the Ilminster Club site which is 6.5 miles away from Ilminster just off a busy road. However we came across Higher Sea House by chance and what a find staying for three nights. Just 1 mile from Ilminster with a lovely flat off road walk along an old railway line, so won't be staying at the Ilminster Club site again. The owners Myles and Myra are a lovely couple who could not do enough for us. The site itself is set around an orchard along with four hens. We bought a dozen free range eggs, which you could not get much fresher. Myra even knew which of her hens had laid each egg from the colour of the shell. The electric is metred and worked out at just under £2.50 per day which is excellent value, as we use an air fryer, microwave along with the usual TV, fridge and toaster etc. The Ilminster club site for the same days was £32.30 per night so a saving of £10 each night. Most definitely be returning again.
Simply The Best ?
Higher Sea House was our first venture to a CL...ever! We are a long motorhome & car transporter trailer set-up at over 12.5M overall and had restricted ourselves for 12 years to larger Club sites and were a bit "edgy" about a grass site. Why, oh why? Myles and Myra are most welcoming by nature, were completely unfazed by it all and found us a spot to squirrel the trailer away. We can only say that if you are looking to pitch up in the area, we believe you will find it harder to beat this delightful site with great owners and complete with 4 very friendly, very free range chickens.
Thank you Guys, we will doubtless see you again.

Moterhomer
This was a great half way stop over for us on our way to Cornwall. Easy access and a nice welcome from owners. No hard standing pitches but the grass was still quite firm for our stay. The pitches were in a line over fairly uneven ground as far as I could see and had the site been full I feel it would have been a bit cramped! For us though being the only ones there it was good. Thought being charged an extra £2 a night for the car that we towed was a bit much though!

Welcoming and friendly
A lovely clean and pretty site . Pitched in the orchard , chickens strolling around. A very friendly and warm welcome nothing was too much trouble for Miles or Mira . We could choose which pitch we wanted blocks were available to help with levelling . Miles was very helpful on walks or cycle paths in the area even to giving us a little map to help. There was no rushing us off the site on the day of departure. Everything was so relaxing. We have come home and are now looking to see what date we can do a return visit

A lovely place to relax
Moira and Miles were excellent hosts to us throughout our six nights stay.
The site was so pretty with a small vegetable garden and an orchard. There were hens that didn’t bother us at all and were a treat to watch. We were pleased to get good TV reception and the local Barn Owl visited now and again.
The site is within walking distance of Ilminster which is a lovely town with boutique shops and a Minster.
Would recommend.
Lovely quaint and welcoming site.
We enjoyed a one night stop at this site. Myra was very welcoming and helpful when we arrived telling us which were the hardest grassed areas to park as it had been raining. She also provided us with walking instructions to the disused railway track. This was an easy flat walk into Ilminster avoiding the road. You can walk or cycle to Chard in the other direction.
A very quiet site with free range chickens wandering around (FR eggs available to buy too).
Lovely, tidy well kept grounds in an orchard setting. We will definitely return. Thank you Myra and Myles for a lovely stay.
Lovely few days in Somerset
Lovely warm welcome from very helpful owners of this well maintained CAMC CL. Spacious pitches enjoying nice views over farmland.
1 mile walk along road, mostly with pavement, to Ilminster, where we had a lovely lunch & cappuccino at The Gallery Cafe.
We chose this CL as it’s close to Southwest Motorhomes where we are taking our van for it’s habitation service.
Would use again.
A bit different
Stayed here at the end of August breaking our journey from Plymouth back to London. A warm welcome from the host who introduced us into the orchard field. Plenty of peace and quiet to be had. Great site for visiting Montacute House and surrounding countryside. Thank you (belatedly).
