We had a friendly arrival and introduced to the site, (water and elsan waste) ,we were advised to pitch at the top by the railway as it was flat. Grass was long and car had difficulty towing to the top (grass cut the following day to an acceptable level). We we pitched within 10 metres of the railway which sounds awful but the Tal-Y-Llyn railway isn't exactly your standard affair. A small train gives nothing other than an occasional put-put as it trundles past. There is a bit of a cutting so it is not very visible.
We had to find the bins, in front of the smaller house, and it took 5 days to find the toilet which is attached to the house (Black latched door) - this was always clean.
The field is huge and you can pitch anywhere, but there is a significant slope and I would advise taking a second cable if you have one to increase options.
One major positive is the reasonable pricing, and this was reflected in that this is the first CL in a long time which I have visited which is full.
Nice location and views, I would recommend if in the area
Peace and quiet
Basic but with electric, fresh water, cdp, waste bins and a toilet (no shower). Field is on quite a slope , bit difficult to get level. Tal y Llyn railway runs across top of field and main station 1 mile away (not half a mile as stated on board on main road). Friendly owners who leave you alone (I had to go to pay as no-one came around). 5 Mike's from Aberdovey which has easy parking for campervans as well as cars, 4 hours for £2.20.
CL fee is £15 with electric, £12.50 without, excellent value , we shall return.
Lovely CL site
Stayed here for 2 nights, with EHU for just £15 a night. There is a waste disposal point in the field and a tap for drinking water. There is a loo available too and the grass was cut. The best thing about the site is it's simplicity. It is very laid back, very quiet and the owners don't bother you at all, we were left to choose our own pitch. I really enjoyed watching the birds in the evening. Great sleep because it is so quiet. It took us about 20 mins to walk right into Tywyn where there is everything you need. The field is a bit sloping, you can see in the pic, but we only needed blocks on one side to bring up the MH. I would stay there again. Mae'r perchnogion yn siarad Cymraeg hefyd! 😊
Great Views!
Can't fault this site - a gem.
I would however add that the details only describe entry from the NE, which means using the A493 coast road which I didn't find that easy with a caravan. When we revisit, which we will, we'll approach the site from Tywyn direction, no problem at all, we left that way. So from Tywyn on the A493 heading NE, look out for the large cemetery on the right just after leaving town. Then after a few hundred yards take the first turn right (just BEFORE the welcome sign mentioned in the directions). Ignore the road on the right adjacent to the cemetery (although that would get you there too!)

Peaceful and Quiet
We turned up on spec and were the only people of the site so appreciated the peace of the area.
We don't use EHU and were invited to site our camper anywhere.
The site is sloping so you will want levelling chocks
We enjoyed looking at the lambs and basically being left to our own devices!
There is easy access to fresh water and rubbish disposal.
long grass
Long grass that doesn't look like it's been cut for quiet some time reading other reviews it seems Mr Lloyd doesn't take any notice or bothered to read these either.
Another grouse is the area by the toilet emptying which is slowly being overtaken by garden rubbish being dumped around this area, and it could be better screened to avoid being watched by the bed and breakfast guests as you empty your loo.
Also on several nights there were more than 5 units on site.
I'm just wondering now if the caravan club ever read these reviews.
Nice cl,great position but long grass.
Visited September 2015.
This cl is very well placed within walking distance of tywyn, has a great view of the mountains towards Dolgellau, and the talyllyn narrow guage steam train runs right by it. On this visit the sloping well drained pasture had long grass, requiring the use of wellies to use facilities, but on a previous visit in June, it had been cut. There is a lot of space, with the electric posts arranged along the woodland edge, which gives some shelter from westerly winds.. The higher up the sloping field, the better the view, but there is only one water tap down the field by the entrance, the chemical disposal is a bit further down. Overall a nice cl, the nearby road can be heard but is not busy, and a great position for cycling or exploring this area.

Great for train buffs
We got a friendly welcome by the owner and were told about the facilities. There is one toilet/washroom attached to the owners house just a short walk from the CL field. Hook-ups are available near the entrance to the field with shelter from a belt of tress or at the top of the field which is more exposed but right next to the Tal-y-Llyn railway line. Hendy has its own halt on the railway. The field is sloping and leveling blocks will be required. The views of the surrounding hills are very nice indeed and the site is very peaceful. It is about 2 Kms to walk into Tywyn for the beach, railway station, pubs and restaurants etc.
Handy Hendy stopover
We stayed for 1 night in July as a stopover.
Owner was very friendly & it has good facilities.
The site is a large sloping field but with many options for good pitches with or without hook up.
The grass was a bit long when we were there but it's a nice spot with good views.
The top of the field has a mini railway running past but it is hidden by the hedges which we thought was a shame..lower them a little and it would be a major attraction, for us anyway!

Maybe OK for some...
A site with beautiful views and most convenient for the Talyllyn Railway, but…
For a 5-unit site there were 9 on some nights and regulars told us there have been more. There’s plenty of room for them all (with exceptions … see below) but shouldn’t “5” mean “5”?
In conversation with some caravanners on the site they didn’t seem to know much about the Club or its rules. Made us wonder if they were actually members, particularly as we weren’t asked for our membership cards or number either when booking, on arrival or at any time during our stay. As a member-owned site we also wondered what type of unit they had ... we never saw one anywhere.
Flocks of sheep were regularly herded through the site. This isn’t a problem in itself but sheep droppings and dog dirt are two different things so we do find it objectionable when sheep dogs leave their mess (defecate) right next to our unit and we have to clear it up! Folk from the self-catering cottages also use the CL field as a dog walk … not great when sitting outside your unit.
We might not have bothered to highlight any of the above if the crucial 20-feet (6-metre) rule hadn’t also been broken. To us, safety is paramount … we’ve seen the results of fires! A unit was told to site next to us leaving a gap of less than 4 metres! We put our car between the two units and could only partly open the doors each side. Needless to say, we didn’t leave the car there! Part of the site owner’s response when pointing out the fire hazard was, effectively, “Well, you’ve got 90 seconds to get out of caravan if there’s a fire”. He also suggested that the spacing was partly our fault (we’d been there for over 3 weeks) for siting our unit longways on. Two other units in our row were sited the same way, one having been told to so by the owner. So, please don’t pass the buck!
If you’re not bothered by too many units, dog dirt, possibly non-members on site or the 6-metre safety rule … this is a pretty good site.
