Peace and Tranquility

Had a lovely stay here for three nights in our motorhome. The lane after St Cleer is narrow in places, so not for a novice driver (in fact we checked the bus timetable so we wouldn't meet one on the way home), but once at the site it is well worth it. It is perfect for dogs, with walks to both Golitha Falls and Sibleyback Lake. Suzanne warmly welcomed us and was very friendly, bringing us a loaf of her beautiful sourdough bread and marmalade once ordered, and the information pack was very comprehensive and useful. Well worth staying if you like to enjoy views over rolling countryside and sit quiet with a book after a long walk with the dog :-)

Wonderful find

My husband had been here before with our son. This was the first visit for our daughter and me. The site is really well laid out with plenty of space so you’re not all lined up and on top of each other. The shower and toilets are very good, kept clean and tidy. The reading books to borrow is a lovely idea especially when the weather isn’t favourable. Another excellent idea is the guest information book (one per pitch) an idea other CLs could adopt. Everything you could want to know about the site and area ready for you to digest. The site is so peaceful and tranquil a real escape, although the approach road is narrow (Cornwall normal) but well worth it! The site is also well placed to visit this part of Cornwall. You must try the sour dough bread (it’s gorgeous) and the scones(heaven) that can be purchased. They are the best I have tasted. The dogs loved the ‘dog walk and separate ball throw areas. I think my spaniel would like to move in, his idea of heaven.

Good C.L

We spent 5 nights here in April, everything previously said was correct. Friendly and helpful owners, very dog friendly with 2x good dog fields and you can easily walk from site. The electric as with most sites is now metered and a daily allowance 0f 10 kw, we used our heating ,granted not all night and never went over the total allowed. It was our first time using a meter and gave confidence for the future and is the only fair way in my opinion. The only issue we encountered was approaching the site from Liskeard there are some high sleeping policeman which damaged our jockey wheel , so we exited via Dobwalls which was easier with our caravan. You could still go via Liskeard but just remove the jockey wheel for about 100 yards or so. The weather was pretty decent and there are many places already mentioned to visit. A good peaceful friendly site and if you visit twice you also get a cream tea thrown in, so whats not to like.

A very warm welcome received

A very warm welcome was received from Suzanne and David immediately when we arrived. Suzanne also gave us our own folder of all the information we needed for our stay. Our ten year old chocolate Labrador was also made most welcome. The toilets and shower were very clean and the site was lovely and quiet with dark skies. Great walks from the site and further afield you have moors, beaches, National Trust properties etc. etc. We especially enjoyed the Plymouth Harbour boat trip and Cotehele NT, both dog friendly. Hopefully we can return to Hendrifton Farm soon.

Just superb as usual,….simply superb

This has been our third visit to David and Suzanne at Hendrifton Farm CL, and my wife Jill and I have enjoyed yet another SUPERB 28 nights holiday here. We just love this place, and wish it was in shorter striking distance to where we live. David and Suzanne are simply excellent hosts and are such genuinely warm, kind, and very thoughtful people who truly go to the very outer limits to make your holiday a most welcoming and a thoroughly enjoyable experience throughout. Hendrifton is an ideal base for visiting all the major attractions within the county of Cornwall, though is also perfectly situated to enable visits to attractions across the border into neighbouring Devon. In summary, we simply cannot praise David and Suzanne, and their wonderful Certificated Site enough, and we say a “huge thank you” for all you did for us to make our holiday so very special yet again !!. Last but by no means least, thank you too to David and Suzanne’s dogs Bob and Reka for readily playing with our own canine handful “Jen” 🐕. We cannot wait for our next visit. As the reader of this review will fully anticipate …… we thoroughly recommend Hendrifton Farm for your holiday in Cornwall Tim and Jill Cramp

Lovely welcome and great facilities

Stayed here for a week in June. Site had lovely views down over open countryside, a male/female toilet and the best free shower I have had on a CL, plus the added bonus of free WIFI so we could watch Netflix films, borrow books or help yourself to fresh herbs. There was even a baby owl in the tree behind our caravan which we went out and saw at night. Lovely welcome on arrival with the option to set up on a few pitches and an information folder. We timed our arrival with 'National Scone Day' so were treated to one of Suzanne's fabulous cream teas and bought one of her yummy fresh loaves of sourdough bread. During our stay the weather was not at its best so we did have to take down our awning (high winds) and unfortunately any goundsheets including breathable ones are not allowed. We cycled down and around Siblyback Lake (the cafe does an awesome vegan breakfast), visited various NT properties (Cothele, Antony, Lanhydrock), walked along the river from the site to Golitha Falls, Port Issac (Doc Martin fame), Padstow (Rick Stein fish and chips), Looe and the banjo pier, Wadebridge (Camel Trail free parking at Borough Arms Dunmere) and Minions and the standing stones. We can see why the site is so popular and would return for some more of the fabulous scones and hopefully better weather.

Our TENTH YEAR of staying at Hendrifton Farm!!

This is our tenth year of staying at this fabulous Caravan and Motorhome CL site. Says it all! Our kids have grown up here, learned to ride their bikes here, walked our dogs here (excellent dog/outdoor games field), learned to fill/empty the water/waste here. It's a gem! Lots to do nearby, particularly Siblyback Lake and Golitha Falls. On site shower and toilet block. The shower is the best of all sites we've ever stayed at! Lastly but most importantly are Suzanne and David and their little dogs. They are always warm and welcoming. Ooh and the site has been extended! Lovely grassy site with gravel entrance road. This is how all CL's should be!!

Exceptional Welcome from Owners

We arrived at the site and received the warmest welcome we have ever received at any campsite! The Owners, Suzanne & David went out of their way to accommodate us on their lovely site, which has pleasant countryside views and is only a short walk to local beauty spots of Siblyback Reservoir and Golitha Falls. Historic structures can also be seen close by, including the only surviving example of a fragment of a 9th Century stone cross. Suzanne & David’s recommendation of Dinner, delivered to us from Tapenades in Liskeard, was amazing, as were all the other suggested local eateries, which we were lucky enough to sample! Suzanne’s Sourdough was delicious, as was her delightful Cream Tea and should definitely not be missed! Do check out what’s on at Sterts Open Air Theatre nearby, as it is another wonderful local find! We will definitely return to this site and thank our hosts very much for a wonderful holiday.
