Excellent Site...But needs better maintenance

On arrival there was of no indication of where the CL was located, we had to ask a man who was cutting the grass. After going through the car park and through a gap in the hedge there was a sign on the site. All of the pitches were very uneven as they are under trees. We were the only caravan on the site so was surprised when we went for water that there was an overflowing bin of rubbish next to the Elson which was a buried toilet with no lid and it was filled with rubbish from the bins, we were there for 5 nights and when we left the rubbish was still there. We noticed there were a lot of crows pulling the rubbish about. On the plus side it is an excellent place to be based for walking to Hatton locks, close to Warwick. Hatton Country World is an ideal place to wander over to with several shops and an ideal place for kids we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It does need better signing to the CL and regular maintenance of the rubbish

A hidden gem... can't believe it's not already been reviewed?!

We stayed here for 2 nights to break up the journey on a longer touring holiday. Despite this being attached to 'Hatton Adventure World' it's actually a peaceful site. Hatton Adventure World itself made for a lovely relaxing day. There are some beautiful walks that can be done directly from the site with the Grand Union Canal towpath being only a 5 minute walk away. We also visited Warwick Castle for a day and the location was perfect for this. Much prefer to stay somewhere scenic like this rather than the racecourse on a tarmac site. There is also a gastro pub, the Hatton Arms, which although we didn't have the time to visit, looked lovely on the canalside. £50 refundable deposit for the gate fob is fair enough. They cost about £250 to buy and if you're a dipstick like me, you're likely to leave it in your handbag and take it home (ooops... will be returning in the post)! This is the first time we have camped without electric so we were nervous, but after 2 full days, we had only used half of the battery so we won't let that put us off in future. Thanks for a lovely stay!
