Peaceful, relaxing site

Nice peaceful site, slightly sloping pitches, easy access to facilities. Helpful, welcoming owner. Narrow approach road needs care. Close to local attractions.

Lovely

We had a few activities and sight seeing we wished to do in the area. Lady Margerets Club site came in at £156. Utterly ridiculously over priced. We paid £54 3 nights. Booking was easy. Arrival was fine. set up. Levels needed. EHU but no other facilities.. Simple field surrounded by working farms. V Quiet. Fantastic. Family of 5. Thankyou.

Perfect stopover site

We used this site to break our journey from Central Scotland to Pembrokeshire. It was easy to find off the motorway using the directions given on here. Don’t follow your sat nav! It’s a no frills basic site with all grass pitches. The owner said a wee hello once we chose a pitch and pointed out where things were and took our payment. Levelling will be required. Grass had been cut but not collected and was fairly long. The cuttings were then trodden into caravan which wasn’t great as it was very wet when we visited. Electric hook ups were dotted along the driveway to owners house. There is a recycling/bin area in a wooden enclosure next to farm buildings and chemical disposal was a bit odd as you need to walk across the owners garden to a gap in the hedge but it was adequate and functional. There was a little road noise from the lane but it really wasn’t intrusive and I can’t say we heard any farm noise except a few baa’s from the sheep. I don’t think we would use this site for more than an overnight stop but if you are looking for a basic site in the area then this would tick the box.

Quiet pleasant basic site, near to tourist

Nice quiet basic site near to pontcysyllte aqueduct etc about 10 mins, will need levellers, we only stayed one night but would definitely return, can walk dog from site into lane, if you are strong enough to open field gate, the road way in has a cattle grid but no pedestrian access. Owner checked everything ok, and left us in peace, very pleasant site

Interesting site.

Site easy to find. Nice location and working farm so a little noise from the cows. Lots of places to visit as described to keep you busy. Macdonalds very close by indeed if you have children. I would recommend a visit here.

Perfect little CL

We stayed at Halton Farm for one night as a stopover on our way to Snowdonia. It was very easy to find, and when we arrived we were met by the owners who explained where everything was. We were able to choose our pitch, so we went with one near the entrance/exit as it was a little flatter there. The pitches are on a slope, but as long as you have levelling chocks there's no issue with this! The grass had been recently cut, and we had a lovely herd of young cows in the field next to us, which was nice. Location is spot on for Wrexham and visiting the nearby aqueducts/attractions. We were particularly grateful for the relaxed check-out times, as it meant we could go and explore a bit before we left the next morning. Wish we could've stayed longer!

Basic but great

The site was very easy to find being just of the main road network, (do follow the signs not your sat at) we couldn’t hear the traffic at all. Site was basic with no toilet (site info indicates a toilet) but that didn’t distract from its charm. Owner were very pleasant and helpful. Overall a great site, perfect for our little dogs to wander around, would definitely use again.

Pleasant

Situated well for Llangollen, Chirk, pontcysyllte aqueduct and other attractions. Pleasant views over looking farm land. Pitches back up on to drive and farm buildings. There is occasional noise from the working farm and the animals plus the owners dogs. Write up states pitches are fairly level but in reality you will need levelling blocks. We parked sideways as it was easier. Owners don’t bother you. Didn’t use the WC as it was shut due to covid restrictions. All in all pleasant stay for a couple of nights.

Warm and freindly welcome with easy access to all facilities in the area and easy to find off the main road.

We enjoyed a lovely four night stay just a couple of weeks ago and will certainly return in the future. The site is basic just as we like it and set in beautiful countryside. The toilet and fresh water facilities are clean and the site grass was cut reasonably low, the farm dogs were not allowed to roam around and were rarely seen. The only noise came from the cows and a cockerel just across the valley! We were able to cycle around country lanes and into Chirk and then on to the canal towpath and on to Llangollen. This was a treat. This is basic camping/caravanning with basic facilities in an excellent location for touring the area and with plenty of places to eat and drink either a short drive or cycle away.

Fantastic CL site

We have just returned from a lovely long weekend at Halton Farm. The facilities are good, clean and easily accessible. The owners are very welcoming. The Site itself was all grass but this was kept low cut, so very easy. The Entrance is tight, but this isn't a problem, everyone was getting in and out just fine. Lovely base to place to stay to explore the local area. We will be returning to this lovely site. The highlight of the weekend for my children, was seeing a baby calf born. Once again the farm workers and owners couldn't have done any more for us. Thank you. Definitely worth a visit.
