A GREAT LITTLE CL

Just returned from a 3 night stay at this lovely well kept site. We stayed the early May bank holiday 2017. Although the weather wasn't very warm, the welcome from the owners certainly was. There is good access from the main road. The site offers level pitches, some hard stand, some grass. There are electric hook ups for all. A toilet, laundry room and information of local points of interest are provided. The owner is very friendly and deserves to do well. A slight criticism is the road noise but as others have said, don't let this put you off as it ebbs in the evening. So if you are looking for a well kept site in this area then look no further than Greenacres, we would certainly recommend it.

Another lovely holiday

This was our fourth visit to Linda and Martin's site - twice only weekends but twice for rather longer - and it's one of our favourite sites. Always a warm welcome and always plenty of information if required, this time we wanted a nursery type garden centre. The security gates give peace of mind if it's your inclination to spend hours in Blackpool at night, but having your own 'zapper' means you can come and go as you please. There are great sunrises and sunsets to been enjoyed from your own 'van, and the skeins of geese which fly over daily make you feel really countryfied. The site is within easy reach of the Trough of Bowland - walking of all levels of difficulty; Lancaster - the Judges Lodgings, the Priory Church and a great prison; Fleetwood - visit the market; the Lune Estuary walk and Glasson Dock and obviously Blackpool with all that entails, which can be reached by bus from the free car park at Knott End, or by the little ferry into Fleetwood, using the same car park. The pitches - three hard and two grass - are all level, and the hard ones are suitable for motor homes. Water is easily accessible and chemical waste disposal is excellent. Access to the site is easy - directly from the A588. Not quite sure why other reviews give maximum 'ticks and good write ups, but only give 2/3 stars, that's caravanners I suppose. Look forward to our next stay at Greenacres.

Great Site

Linda and Martin are excellent hosts, nothing too much trouble but not intrusive. Well maintained site, electric gates great as we were given our own fob to open them. Slight noise from the road, but don't let this put you off, well situated for Morecambe and Blackpool, we also went to Southport. Martin and Linda gave us very good info on where to go and suggested many places to visit, we also had perfect weather, never having been to the north west before we were pleasantly surprised and now wonder what took us so long to make the journey, it was definitely worth the 245 miles to see this part of the country, hopefully we will be returning again soon.

great site in a great location

we stayed hear in october last year and despite the weather we had a very enjoyable stay. the site was clean and the facilities very well kept. the owners was very helpful when we arrived and didnt just leave us and rush in even though it was raining they stayed and helped. not far from knott end at all and an easy drive to blackpool. i would recommend this site to people for a friendly weekend away. you do have to pay for extra electricity used which we didnt find out untill we arrived but its cheap so not a negative at all.

Lovely Site

Just returned from three nights at this lovely site. The owners were very friendly and knowledgeable about the area recommending places to eat, the Black Bull is very good, huge portions. The site is very clean and tidy, it is so relaxing it does not feel like a camp site at all. There is a bit of road noise, but we soon got used to it, but it's location made it easy to get around. Entrance is via electrically operated gates, so is very secure. If we return to the area we will definitely return to this site.

A Great CL

This was our first solo motorhome outing and did not want to travel to far a field, so finding this little gem so close to home was perfect. Linda & Martin make you feel very welcome & nothing is an inconvenience. Found some great walks to tire out our energetic Dalmatian - all in all a lovely 3 day break over the late May Bank Holiday.

A lovely week!!

We've just had a lovely week at Greenacres. The entrance is a bit difficult with the van - we parked next door and phoned for Linda to open the gate, but the welcome was lovely. Linda walked us around and showed us where everything was. I really liked the electric gate opener, much better than the cold metal farm gates I usually have to deal with!! Linda and Martin are very pleasant and left us alone, but always waved if they saw us. The site itself was very pleasant. We parked on the hardstanding away from the road - the road is very busy and very noisy but no worse than home! From the hardstanding you look out over the fields to the horizon which was really nice and the munching from the horses was quite soothing. We mainly visited Blackpool - about half hour drive but we didn't want to be too close to the town itself. Blackpool was its usual dishevelled self but we loved it. Its very expensive but we paid for a lot of things thru' a well known supermarket voucher scheme. We also took the foot ferry over the river and spent a day in Fleetwood. We didn't look for anything else to do in the area, so couldn't say what was around. We were also very lucky with the weather!! But we did find a really nice Italian restaurant in Knot End. I would recommend the site for anyone who wants an away from it all break and is not bothered too much by driving any distance to the action. We really enjoyed ourselves, it was just what we needed after an extremely stressful time and thank you Linda and Martin.

Home from home

Stayed here for three nights at end of July. John and Linda make you feel like house guests sleeping on their lawn outside their house not paying customers.  We had a warm and friendly welcome, everything was explained to us including best places to visit locally and how to get there. This is a beautifully kept CL with easy access from main road, a mixture of well kept lawn and hard standings.Other  caravaners who were staying were all returning regulars so that tells me how much they think of the CL. Would certainly return any time

A wee gem

We stayed at this lovely site from 13th-20th June 2014 and had the most perfect week's holiday. Linda and Martin are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. We were on one of the grass pitches and were encouraged to pitch side on to the hedge so that we could enjoy the evening sun. We liked the security gates and felt safe leaving the 'van during the day. We wish we had booked for longer as the weather and the site made us want to stay longer but unsurprisingly the site was fully booked for the weekend. The site is near the sea and has some lovely garden centres nearby for lunches and coffees. Thanks for a very peaceful and restful holiday Linda and Martin.
