Great little CL!

Stayed here for three nights over half term to visit family nearby. Great situation, down quiet country roads. Hard standing pitches overlooking countryside were perfect, especially on the third day when the rain returned. The dogs were well catered for with plenty of walks available off site. It was slightly odd never to have any contact with the owners but this wasn't a problem as instructions for payment were clear.  Not within walking distance maybe, but the Red Lion at Pickmere serves great food at very good prices. Worth a visit. I would definately use this site again.

Well kept, well placed, well run

As others have said, well signed. The site is very well placed for local footpaths, Marbury Country Park, Tatton Park. Bus to Northwich wiithin easy walkiing distance. Good views ocer adjacent fields.

Worth a look!

It's difficult to add anything new to comments already made by others. Aircraft noise not a problem to us or the dog.  Signage for access and where to sign in and pay are spot on. Like others I'm intrigued by the mysterious owners who were never seen! They do however keep the site in very good order. It is a working farm and at this time of year (mid/end August) I assume they are very busy. No hesitation in recommending.

First visit to this CL

Very impressed with the neatness and layout of the site. Exceptionally clear signage, including where to pay! usually have difficulty finding someone to do this rather important item. Highly recommended.

Good CL for access to Tatton Park

Good site, very quiet, easy to access off the M6. Yes there is aircraft noise from nearby Manchester Airport, but don't let that put you off, it's a lovely site. We didn't see the owner either but the reception was clearly sign posted and we pushed our fee in an envelope through the letterbox as requested.

Good Cl but with aircraft noise.

A good well run well laid out CL but with a lot of aircraft noise ( Manchester airport) on 2 out of the 3 days we stayed. (depends upon the take off direction?). We did not see the owners, you just put your money in an envelope in thier porch.( make sure you have the correct money!)

Good value!

We stayed at Gravestones Farm for just one night whilst we attended a concert in Manchester which is just 30 minutes drive away. It is a basic site but is well kept and on a well maintained and busy working arable farm. The surroundings are pleasant and rural with a view over fields and woodland from the site. We didn't see the wardens; we simply signed the visitors' register and popped our payment (£13 Fri, Sat or Sun, £10 otherwise) in an envelope through their letter box! For caravanners like us who tend to use our own on-board bathroom facilities this represents reasonable value and makes me think that we should use the small CLs more often. There is a pleasant dog walk around the adjacent wood. As it was just a short visit I can't give my usual review of local hostellries! However £4.50 for a pint of lager in a plastic cup at Manchester Arena is a rip off!

Gravestones Farm

A well sheltered site with 5 hardstanding pitches which, although rather narrow and sloping, are well spaced and easily accessed. Close to both the M6 & M56 with good a access roads, it is only a short drive to Knutsford,Tatton Park and Northwich. Ardley Hall is within walking distance. Good dog walks from the site either around a newly planted wood & over the fields or along the entrance driveway. Will not hesitate to use again when in the area.

Newly re-located CL

Newly re-located on the farm, on flat hardcore with plenty of grass in between.and separated from the caravan storage area by a banked leylandii hedge. There are five caravan-width hard standings which look out across cereal fields. A well laid out CL with good waste disposal, hookups and wide well signed access through the farm complex. We took an afternoon stroll from the site to the village and to the lake. (30 mins). The only pub is a modern 60s building but seemed very popular. Three miles from J19 on M6 and close to the Cheshire Canal Ring, Anderton Boat Lift, Tatton Park (NT). £10 p/n weekdays and £12.50 p/n Fri & Sat..

Brilliant organisation

We spent two nights on this very well maintainged site in our motorhome. The hardstanding was much appreciated, the view across cornfields to woodland was restful and the excellent signs everywhere meant guests knew exactly what to do and where to go. We can't comment on local places of interest as we were only there to visit friends. This was an excellent site on which to start our holiday with the sole proviso that we did not see the owner at all during our stay so there was no welcome. We just put the money through the door in an envelope provided in the porch.
